They need to put tennis balls on the chairs or something because they always screech. Their menu is outdated and the place is just disgusting. They should look at the café in Roosevelt field.

This place is okay to visit when cirellas at saks is too busy… I feel bad saying that but it’s true. The place is so hit or miss. At least for me it is… The California wrap is usually my go to but my dad ordered it yesterday. Too much avocado and not enough shrimp which is disappointing bc usually it delivers. I ordered the shrimp Caesar which was fine… They have good specials and their forty carrots fro yo is their savior!

Love this place. Great food and excellent service. There hasn’t been one thing on the menu that I wouldn’t order again.

We have been going here on and off for quite a few years, and after a brief hiatus, returned to find it has declined. A favorite dish, the mango chicken salad, was served with very light, sad looking greens, instead of the once vibrant delicious ones. The grilled chicken was good though. Additionally, the portion seemed to be smaller, though cost just the same as it had before(about $ 14.00). It was neither filling, nor makes me want to reorder it ever again. You can get a much better salad(which I have been for years) at Cirello’s which is Sak’s café in Walt Whitman. The salads are incredibly delicious, fine quality, good portions, and comparable price. You can design them any way you’d like.

The service is always quick and nice staff. Their spinach pie is amazing, just like in Greece. Will visit again soon.

What a great discovery for us! My husband and I always felt relegated to the Cheesecake Factory or California Pizza Kitchen when we were at the mall. But we kind of stumbled on 59th and Lex one day and were starving so we took a chance. The omelet is the absolute BEST I’ve ever had and you can get it all day! The greek salad and spanikopita is fantastic as well! The sweet potato fries are excellent, not to mention the famous frozen yogurt! Grab yourself a Shopper’s Brew(half lemonade, half iced tea) and have yourself a great lunch!

The best diner-style food anywhere! 59th and Lex café is situated in the basement of Bloomingdale’s at Walt Whitman Mall. The food is fresh, simple and good and great for a light lunch. Try the chicken salad sandwich on raisin bread, or the vegetable soup. The quesadillas are hot, fresh and cooked perfectly, and the salads are fresh and tasty and the dressings are fantastic. DONOTPASSUPTHEFAMOUSFROZENYOGURT!!! It actually tastes like yogurt, slightly tart and slightly sweet. It is the best frozen yogurt on the planet. This café is mobbed by the stroller racers who take up most of the regular seating here, but I’d rather sit at the bar to eat anyway. Sometimes the service can be slow, and it’s often short-staffed. The staff that are here are often overworked, and it can be hard to get their attention to pay a bill or get something else with your order. Well worth the wait and the hassle for the food here.
