Despicable. I am a veteran«thrifter» of about 30 years. The current trend of these«big box» not-for-charity thrift stores like Unique and several others that have been popping up in the past decade — and I would have NOISSUE with this if their prices were cheap /fair or reasonable. They are not. This was my first trip to Island Thrift in Huntington Station. This is smack dab in the center of a lower income area & they are fully taking advantage of that. Let’s see now(and I am NOT a religious person) — if there was a «judgement day» and one of your crimes was taking advantage of people who are DISADVANTAGED… well I guess you’d go to hell? Right? Prices I saw in Island Thrift today: 1) a basket of dirty or broken iPhone cases –you know the one with the glitter and rhinestones and other tacky shit glued all over– $ 4.99& $ 5.99 ! 2) Men’s jeans(Levis and no-name jeans alike) $ 12.98 a pair. If you are a savvy shopper you can get NEW Levi’s for about $ 24.00 .and«no-frills» jeans for $ 14.00 from Wal-Mart . 3) crappy old drinking glasses $ 1.99(ones that probably came from the dollar stores in 1998) 4) ugly old wooden table with stains, dings, gouges etc. $ 80.00 5) bag of 4 random FREE perfume sample vials(that were handed out for free at department stores) $ 5.00 78% of this store is garbage dump worthy. I fell crappy now that I actually BOUGHT something on the way out. A small empty 6×8″ shadow box frame in new shape for $ 1.99.(these are good for displaying old toys and small collectibles in). 90% of what’s here is clothes from the 1990s anyway. No reason for anyone to shop here at all. (And you know you’re thrift store is a piece of shit if I wind up leaving with a single $ 1.99 item only!) Boycott & hope it fails.

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Huntington, NY
I’ve visited almost every thrift-store on Long Island, so I have a basis for comparison. This place is okay. Not great but okay. Bigger in size than most stores but very unorganized. The racks are over-stuffed which makes shopping harder than it needs to be. Prices are okay, not great. Some items are over-priced but they have day-long discounts on certain items(marked by color-tag) which are good(like 50% off). Serendipity is the hallmark of thrifting so include this store in your travels but don’t have high hopes. You might or might not find a treasure.
