Dined here with friends last night. Service was impeccable. Had the soft shell crab special. Excellent. Friends enjoyed the pork chop, squid ink pasta, and pappardelle. Only complaints are the limited wine selection and it is very noisy.

Here for Happy Hour on a Tuesday. The bar is classy old world. The bartender was friendly and helpful. He seemed to enjoy his job and satisfying a customer Great deal from 5 – 8 with a menu including crab cakes and numerous mollusks at great prices. I had some oysters and clams and a Hendricks dirty martini. enjoyed it all and will be back fo try a real meal

First time at this restaurant, I could not possibly have been more pleased! There’s a small menu, but they get it right. I ordered their pork chop dish, and they let me change out the artichoke for asparagus… this dish was so much more than I expected. The flavor was perfect and the meat was perfectly cooked. Great portion and they didn’t over do it with too much potato. I enjoyed every bite and will definitely be back. Drinks were also good, overall great experience. My wife loved her eggplant pasta dish. Great find!

Food sucks, service sucks. The owner also loves to double park people like they own Huntington

Our Family has been going to Jonathan’s since their opening in the 90’s. The management(Alex) totally cool and professional as is the hostess and wait staff. Friendly, welcoming & always accommodating, the warm ambiance adds to the totally comfortable feeling of «Jonathan’s». The menu is varied & creative and our server always suggests a special wine to compliment the meal. They serve the best mushroom risotto I’ve ever tasted, bar none. My favorite has always been the Scottish salmon w/baby root vegetables and balsamic reduction… melts in your mouth. Our most recent entrees included Grass-fed Black Angus shell steak w/black truffle butter, Double Pork Chop, Long Island Duck breast, Grilled Yellow-Fin Tuna, all served with enticing veggies and sauces accompanying each dish. Finally, too full to order dessert, our waiter delivers a complimentary plate of warm delectable chocolate chip cookies to top off our excellent eating experience and bring smiles to five faces! I’d vote it the best Huntington has to offer.

Really good food and variety, but very RUSHED. The bus boys take your plates before you finish and you get the feeling that they need to turn the table. A varied and well executed menu and a variety of specials for all palettes. My only critique was the feeling that you have to gulp and go. SLOWDOWN and stop rushing. When you pay these prices, the food, wine, and company should be savaored not gulped.

The food was absolutely wonderful – I took my mother here for her birthday and we truly enjoyed it. However, we were there for dinner and the noise was deafening. We sat facing each other at a distance no greater than two feet and we couldn’t hear one word of our own conversation. To make matters worse, the waitress had to scream to make herself heard, and patrons at the small tables on each side of us had to do the same. If you want wonderful food with a side of post-concert ringing in your ears, this is the place.

Last night was our first time coming to this Wonderful Establishment this is a hidden Gem among all the restaurants in this area This place is heads above the rest from beginning to end the service was outstanding!!! The Manager Alex took time to talk to us and you can see in his enthusiasm that he truly enjoys his job. They have a fantastic wine list the prices are reasonable and not over priced like at a place like Prime or Porto Vivo. My wife had the bolognese which was outstanding!!! I had the Strip which was prepared a perfect Medium Rare PERFECT!!! For desert we had the Nutella Tiramisu and caramel bread pudding with caramel gelato. This is our new favorite Huntington place!!!

This was my second time to Jonathan’s and I was impressed both times. The Waitress was great, offered help on wine selection and food. The squid ink linguine with shrimp was to die for… and the Branzino was cooked to perfection. My lady friend had the risotto special with goat cheese and all I have to say about that is. its like heaven on a plate. Go. You wont be disappointed. Drinks/Wine are pricey, but it’s part of the deal in Huntington.

I had an unfortunate experience at Jonathans, and I say that because I did really like the food. Huntington resident, have been living in town for almost a decade. Amazingly, though I have been to just about every other restaurant in town multiple times, we never went here. I don’t really know why. So, in the spirit of the New Year, we gave it a shot. Had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation time to sit, but that’s ok, listen, it happens. Nice waitress, was debating between two specials, she said go with the lobster, I figured why not? It’s lobster! Couple next to us also got lobster, so I had a preview of my meal. Looked great, and we commented on how good it looked. Ate appetizers, very good(especially this eggplant pasta dish). My lobster arrives. Now, keep in mind, I just saw the woman next to me get a lobster tail. I am also not a stranger to lobster, I have seen them before. I also, like most upright humans, can compare sizes. I was given the runt of the lobster tail litter. It was, and I kid you not, half the size of the one of the woman next to me. Now, while I don’t suffer from lobster envy, I was basically eating a langostino. Dead serious, I have eaten shrimp that were slightly smaller. So, I let the waitress know. And I could tell by the look on her face that she sort of knew… so she got one of the hostesses to come over. Not a manager btw. Ok, fine. I will talk to the woman who’s responsibility is essentially carrying a menu. That is fine. She was… not a very nice person. First, she made me explain the problem. Listen lady, you KNOW the problem. Second, she stated that they were all weighed and were exactly the same size. Man… I am LOOKING at the same meal right next to me. Again, this is a special. It is literally the most expensive thing on the menu. Hell, I was going to eat it anyway(it was good, after all), but this woman’s attitude was SO bad, i cannot tell you what a turn off it was. Eventually, noting how unhappy I was, they offered to buy us dessert. Which I told them they could keep. I didn’t want it. So I left with this impression: Jonathan’s is a good restaurant. The food, while not exceptional, is solid. Waitress was nice and attentive. It is a Huntington«institution.» And maybe that is the problem. A place like this… they can treat a customer lousy, because there likely will be another customer behind them. Where they blew it was this… I LIVE in Huntington. I KNOW most of the people in Huntington. Short of this incident, I would have probably gone there a few times a month(we eat out a lot). Now… I won’t go back. And I won’t recommend it. And they won’t care, cause the weekend set that descends on our town will keep them afloat. And I am reminded as to why we usually leave Huntington on the weekends. I also got the feeling(I am a younger guy for a place like this, where most of the clientele is in their 50’s-60’s), that if I was a 60 year old man, they wouldn’t have the nerve to speak to me the way they did. Meh.

Completely disappointed. Went for a holiday dinner with six people, after reading the reviews we were all extremely excited for a fabulous meal. Boy were we mistaken… The steak was so over salted it was almost inedible. The double cut pork chop was so tough it was like eating a rubber band. After hearing the specials four people ordered and then were told 15 mins later that they ran out after we had already ordered bottles wine to pair with our meals. If that’s not bad enough, the service was terrible and they only have ONEBATHROOM… Seriously? A restaurant of 40 tables and you have one bathroom! To have to wait on a line when my dinner and company is sitting at the table is absolutely ridiculous. Never to return.

This restaurant is incredible in every way: the food, the service, and the ambience are everything one could want, especially during the holidays when it is beautifully decorated, including charming paintings featuring dogs in holiday costumes. But most of all I appreciate the warmth and caring of the staff, especially manager Alex and server Laura. Upon arrival, I was in an accident directly outside the restaurant, hit by a car, bruised and scared, I looked up to see the manager standing there, waiting to help me up and get me a chair to sit on until I felt better. I declined to get medical help and just wanted to get to dinner so the staff got me the best table, and continued to take care of me, bringing ice packs through the meal. We had a feast — bistecca a di Manzo, Frito misto, seared scallops, goat cheese salad, a variety of sorbets and chocolates, and an excellent bottle of wine, and I was happily surprised to see how reasonable the bill was. We only visit the area a few times a year, but I will be sure to dine at Jonathan’s on every occasion possible.

Absolutely love this restaurant. My fiancé and I had our first date here on October 16th of last year. One year later, we returned to celebrate the day and to re-create the magic of that night. Jonathan’s staff honored our request to be seated at the same table and even did something special for us to help celebrate the occasion. Not only does Jonathan’s provide a warm, inviting environment and pleasant, attentive staff, the food is always outstanding. The smoked prosciutto my fiancé had was out of this world, and the polenta and mushrooms was oh so comforting, especially on a nippy fall night. Paired with a nice glass of wine or an Italian beer… pure heaven.

I’m giving Jonathan’s 2 stars only because the food was fresh and good although very unplentiful. For an appetizer I ordered something with prosciutto and a creamy cheese. It was good, price $ 16.00 Then I ordered pasta with garlic and oil. It was TINY.(by the way, no bread was served) I spoke to the Manager and she said she will«AKS» the cook. Beautiful. When she returned she said it was 5 oz which is their usual. 5 oz is ridiculous! The bill came to $ 41. and something and I wasn’t full. There are many other places I should have picked tonight while strolling through town. Next time I will go back to Joanina.

I’m not hungry(lunch was huge) and I certainly don’t want a large Italian dinner… But Jonathan’s is nearby and my wife is insistent. It is early but it is Friday evening — maybe I’ll be lucky and they won’t have room for us. No such luck. The hostess gives us a pleasant greeting and escorts us to a nice table. I peruse the menu. Nice choices — some unusual — fair prices… Maybe I’m really hungrier then I thought. The waiter brings us some large slices of country white. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I start eating and realize that I could be in for a treat. I order the squid-ink linguini with shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. It’s a wow — one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in a long while. Next is the branzino with lemon and capers. Another winner. Even the roast potatoes served as a side are unusually good. My wife has a similar story to tell. She wants the roast chicken but doesn’t like the the accompaniments. Can they make some changes? Our helpful and professional server assures us the kitchen will gladly make the substitutions she requests. Her meal comes from the kitchen and is a home-run. It is just perfect. We are too full to have dessert, but as I stare at the menu again I am preparing for my next visit.

We’ve been coming to Jonathan’s for several years now and have never been disappointed. Quite simply the food is spectacular. The service is professional and knowledgeable. The kitchen somehow manages to put out fantastic food in a timely fashion on the busiest of Saturday nights. We will be coming back again soon. Real soon!

I confess. I screwed up. Our appetites were so ravenous that I failed to comply with Unilocal regulation #2: take a picture of the dishes before digging in(Reg #1 is to find a well rated restaurant on Unilocal). Mi fa cagare! It won’t happen again. I swear. Well, at least not at this restaurant. So what I have to show are the pictures I took of any remaining half eaten plates still on the table, after my blood sugar stabilized, I came to my senses, sheepishly put on my Unilocal hat, and salvaged what remained of my rookie Unilocal-putation. As we were looking at the menu, we munched on a delicious basket of crusty sourdough bread that the restaurant buys from Tom Cat bakery. You know what makes it 10x better? Dip it in the clean and light tasting olive oil. You know what makes it 20x better? Then dip it in some Parmesan and grinded sea salt. You know what sucked? I forgot to wash my hands before eating(I’m just a tad OCD when it comes to being clean). But I digress. We started with the Cesar salad with grilled shrimp. The romaine was crisp and was accompanied by shaved parmigiana, whole anchovies, crispy seasoned croutons and just enough dressing(you might be wondering where you can see a picture of this delicious salad? Instead see first four paragraphs above). We also started with the calamari friti. The star of this dish were the plump and perfectly succulent rings of squid. The supporting cast included some fried zucchini and shrimp and some grilled lemons. The chunky tomato sauce and anchovy mayo that came with it for dipping made this app 20x better. And it didn’t suck, because by now I have washed my hands. The main courses we had included: perfectly grilled scallops accompanied by artichoke hearts and string beans; pumpkin ravioli in a sage butter sauce and topped off with cookie crumbs to give it a nice color, sweetness and texture; and the always delicious risotto with mushrooms and truffle oil. Service was excellent as always. This is one of my top picks for Italian Restaurants that delivers consistent, authentic and quality dishes. Dined here too many times to remember(you just don’t keep track anymore after 5 visits). Cinque stelle.

Love this elegant little restaurant in the village. The pasta is homemade and always cooked perfectly. Wine list is very good. I have never had a bad meal at Jonathan’s. The have these quirky dog paintings all over the restaurant too that make me smile…

Came here with an ex a few years back. Maybe we broke up because he couldn’t handle being in a beautiful restaurant with beautiful scenery? That is to say, restaurant is definitely beautiful, very classy inside. Prices for the food — at the time, I’d say they were a tad high for what we ate. I tried the strozzapreti with bolognese, partially because I’d never had strozzapreti before. Pasta was definitely good, cooked well and bolognese sauce was tasty, but it still felt wrong, the price tag. I’d like the chance to try some of the dishes others have enjoyed.

Jonathan’s is great! I’ve eaten here twice, once for an event and once for lunch. On each occasion the servers and restaurant staff have been extremely accommodating and friendly. The food is delicious, I’ve tried the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter and fresh shaved parmesan(delish!) and the white truffle mushroom risotto, which has the perfect amount of truffle oil and is cooked to perfection. The caesar salad was very good as well and the cheese board appetizer had generous cheese portions. Parking on the main street can be tough, but there is a very large lot directly behind the restaurant, so try to park there!
