My husband and I had a great first experience here on Valentine’s day. The atmosphere was warm, modern, and welcoming. Our dinner was delicious, I had the shrimp and grits and he had the prime rib. Drinks were yummy, & service was great. Yes it’s expensive but it was a wonderful treat. We will be back!

Great food, awesome service. I came here for a business dinner. We all had a great time and everyone enjoyed their food. I have to say I want to come back here again soon, however it is not nice on the wallet. I would recommend though to anyone who wants a nice sit down dinner we good food and service.

Overpriced. Two entrees and two glasses of wine was over $ 90. Food was mediocre, at best. Frozen bread in a flower pot served with sweetened butter was inedible. Won’t be back.

Prime on 4th never disappoints. The cinnamon roll bread pudding was delicious. Portions were more than enough. Great atmosphere and delicious food. No one in our party of 6 left disappointed.

Old grapes and weird portions. This brunch leaves a lot to be desired. First off, the menu is pretentious and vague as hell. It lists ‘omelette’ and nothing of what you can put in it. The server said ‘whatever you want’ when we asked what can go in it. We asked if they could do gummy bears and bourbon. Obviously, they couldn’t. *LISTOUROPTIONS, PRIME!* I almost ordered 2 entrees because the menu made it sound like these were small dishes. Be warned: they are not. Too much food, in fact. I ended up getting chicken salad and fruit. The bread was extremely hard and the fruit was old. The chicken salad was ok. Coffee left a lot to be desired, too bitter and bland tasting. I will be going to Black Sheep or Bittersweet for brunch, better prices and food. I gave an extra star for our server because she was extremely nice and accommodating.

Literally the worst brunch I have ever had. Be forewarned out-of-staters: if you are coming for brunch on Sunday, cocktails and all alcohol will not be served until one, despite being listed on the menu with no disclaimer. I started with coffee(bitter, not good) and the deviled eggs(deep-fried, and no acidity to cut through the fat and creaminess; also not good). Then, I ordered the smoked salmon and bagel. No new silverware was brought in between courses, and we had to ask for knives sharp enough to cut the bagel. The fruit that came with the bagel was old. The grapes were literally shriveled on the stems. The salmon also tasted old and fishy – too fishy, like, not right. After one bite, I asked for the check. The waitress didn’t ask if anything was wrong, nor did she offer to box up our inedible meals. Horrible service, horrible, inedible food. Unbelievable this place gets good reviews! I will never go back. Old food can make people sick, and I’m surprised they haven’t received more complaints.

We randomly stopped here on a road trip and had a fabulous Sunday brunch. Very friendly place with a cozy atmosphere. We started with deep fried deviled eggs. They were quite elegant. The light crunch added a nice textural element. I had an egg white omelet with spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. It was perfectly seasoned and lightly browned. The smoked salmon bagel, cream cheese capers and onion was generous with a huge portion of fresh fruit. The red onion was a tiny dice so it didn’t overwhelm. The Belgian waffle was perfectly done too. We plan to stop on our return trip.

Very nice atmosphere in an historic downtown building. The menu provides a variety of creative options. Attentive service. Priced appropriately. Wonderful owners and staff.

This place is delicious!!! Their pecan honey crusted chicken is incredible. I really like the atmosphere and the homemade bread and butter is addicting. The waiters are always very attentive and knowledgeable. Really swanky look to it and the bar makes you feel like you are in a big city. Oh not to mention the macaroni and cheese… we are regulars always very happy

Not impressed at all. The food was bland, the service was not impressive and we waited for 45+ minutes and ended up canceling my order. My wife’s food was served lukewarm and we had to flag down the waiter to get help. Nope, not impressed.

The steaks here are top-notch, easily the BEST steak you will have in Huntington, if not West Virginia! I definitely recommend the traditional deviled eggs and prime rib.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. One of the best restaurants in Huntington. Devils on Horseback are amazing, steaks are always good and desserts are awesome! My #1 downtown restaurant.

Fabulous food, service and atmosphere! My only complaint would be that seating is limited and we were close to the door on a bitter cold evening so every time the door would open a blast of cold air would hit me. We will definitely go back and probably sit at the bar next time and order a brick oven pizza. Try their deviled egg appetizer — not something I would normally eat out but this has a different twist and super yummy! The meatloaf is awesome!

The ambiance is perfect for a reservation and nice date but also casual enough to roll in unexpectedly. I have had many items on the menu and some certainly outshine others, but overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants in Huntington. The meatloaf(sirloin, short rib, and filet) is not only incredible, it’s also by far the best value. Mashed potatoes are a little bland for me so I usually sub them out for Mac and cheese or greens. Fried chicken was a bit overcooked, but I still liked the concept of it being served with apple butter. The appetizers are the all stars of Prime, though. Devils on horseback, animal frites and deviled eggs can’t be recommended highly enough. Finally, service has been nothing but excellent here. Honestly, it is what elevates my review from 4 to 5 stars. My very first experience here was when it first opened, and there was a mix up with our reservation. The manager not only apologized but gave us free appetizers as well. Furthermore, my husband and I have stopped in late just to order a couple apps(not racking much of a bill up), but we are treated with as much respect, enthusiasm, and courtesy as when we come in and order a three course meal. That’s classy.

Even with a limited menu this place shines. I went here with my family for my birthday and we had a lovely experience. The dishes are each very unique and well executed, and the wait staff is friendly and knowledgable of the menu. I didn’t sit up there, but the bar looked like it had a very large selection of drinks. Prime is definitely one of the top 5 places in Huntington to go for an intimate dinner with a loved one or for a special occasion.

We ate on a Friday night, arriving around 8:45p. The place was packed and decided to spend our wait time by the bar. We were quickly greeted by a very friendly bartender… the drink options were extensive and very unexpected, we were given a dinner menu to peruse while we waited with our cocktails. Our table was ready much faster than expected, being seated before 9pm. Our waitress Brandy was FANTASTIC, perfect amount of chatty, personal and very knowledgeable about the menu and whiskeys available. The bread was wonderful, and very uniquely presented in a terracotta flower pot. The honey butter was to die for on this light and flakey bread/roll. The crustini with prime rib app was fabulous and tender. The fried chicken was large and mouth watering juicy and tender… melt in your mouth good. The rustic potatoes and green beans were average. The meatloaf was moist, but a little overpowered by the bbq sauce applied. The mac n cheese was disappointingly light on cheese and dry. When we provided feedback about the food to our server, she was very attentive and genuinely cared about how to help the restaurant improve. We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of our evening with no true complaints, but because of our server’s caring nature and attentiveness, she comped a round of drinks just on the feedback of the bbq sauce and mac n cheese we provided. We closed the restaurant, enjoying the unique way in which the check came in the book Animal Farm, with the ability to leave fun little doodles and notes about our experience, or just to be silly. Our biggest regret… not having room for desert! If you get a chance to go… go!!! And ask if Brandy can be your server! Great job… we’ll be back when in town the next time.

I’ve been a few times and don’t plan on going back for a few months. When I do, it will be just to see if things have improved. The cuts of steak that they get are not correlative with the price. The meatloaf is, for lack of a better word, boring. Either the fried chicken comes very overcooked or they need to change their oil. The menu tries to be very West Virginian, but the ingredients are not.

Had dinner here last night with 3 others. It was a satisfactory experience, but not without its problems. I had the prime rib which was tender and cooked nicely but not well seasoned. Mashed potatoes were cold. My friends had: Meatloaf — very good; Fried chicken — WAY over cooked — very brown crust, but it was good. Served with apple butter and roasted potatoes. Pork Trifecta pizza/flatbread — very good. Nice cocktail and wine menu and service was pretty fast and attentive. It is pricey for Huntington, but a nice experience overall.
