I love coming to this place for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy are awesome and the scones which are their signature are amazing. Coffee is served in a large thermos so you can do your own refills. The staff is very friendly and attentive but expect your food to take a while to get there. Time moves slower in Huntsville and it will take a while to get your food from the kitchen, so be prepared for that. Sit back, have your coffee and enjoy the people you are with, the food will get there soon enough.

Old country café/store. Paid 9 $ for a bacon cheeseburger and 8 $ for a turkey sandwich. It is always a long wait for the food so I tried to put our to go order in before the couple that came in behind us. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes for our food. Food was hot and fresh but nothing to write home about. We usually come here for the shakes, when camping at Anderson cove, they are delicious! The bathrooms are a little strange because they have no doors on their stalls and its a tight fit. There were two dogs roaming around the store area and behind the counter which seemed odd but the were well behaved and didn’t go into the restaurant area. The staff was nice enough I didn’t wait for them to come to me, I grabbed a menu from the bar area and went over and told hem we needed to place an order to go. The lady asked me if I wanted a job, lol. They offered to bring us drinks while we waited but we already had our cooler in the car. I’d go back as long as I’m not in hurry.

Stopped in with family today for a quick bite. WOW!!! What a dive! Slow service, orders wrong, men’s restroom absolutely filthy. 1 of 2 urinals out of service, 1 of the 2 sinks had standing backed-up water, no paper towels, electric hand dryer was broken. Save your time and money and go to the nearest gas station for better food.

Stayed overnight in the RV Park behind the store. The rates are pretty good for what you get($ 37/night or $ 175/week) for full hookups on a concrete pad. A decent number of trees so it’s reasonably shady throughout the day, and it’s very quiet at night. Pet friendly for RVers on the road, very close to Pine View Reservoir for boating and other watersports.

Dined here many times over the last 15 years. Usually stop in once a year to see if things have gotten better. Bottom Line: Don’t eat here. Hasn’t changed in years. Food is lack luster at best and service is typically slow. I would consider eating at Huntsville BBQ or Subway down the street before eating here…

Goods: food was good and hot, ambience was old country style Bads: several dogs in the eating area, 25 minute wait time for 4 meals While we didn’t have any dog hair in our food, the idea of dogs in the eating area will have me not returning

Huntsville has about 3 places to eat, so what to do when it’s lunch time and everyone in the car is hungry and no one has the patience to drive down the canyon? The spouse and I ate here once about 10 years ago and now I realize why it didn’t really leave an impression. Lodge style interior with a giant fireplace, a bar and lounge area. Ladies room entrance was about two feet from a table with two toilets behind a small wall but no privacy doors. I spent over a full minute trying to decide whether or not to lock the exterior door… Laminated menus featured burgers and fries, chicken strips and similar fare. Pretty decent prices. I think a chicken sandwich with fries was around $ 8, while a grilled cheese with fries was less than $ 5. Food was just okay, but we waited for a long, long time to get it with only 4 other tables occupied. That’s after a long wait to get menus, a long wait to order, and a long wait to get beverages. The sign out front boasted this is the year of the 51st anniversary, so they must be doing something right, it just wasn’t during our visit.
