Outstanding food here!!! Far from boring! Had cheese plate, mushroom soup, salads, and pasta. All of which where cooked to perfection and fresh. Left feeling very full and happy! The place is perfect for special occasions and affordable enough to do on the regular.

Hidden gem in South Huntsville! Food was spectacular from the appetizer to dessert! Very romantic setting and the staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful at recommending items on the menu. If you go, make reservations first. If you want a cozy table for two, ask to sit at one of the window seats in the back. We will definitely be going back!

This was my first time eating at D&L Bistro and I have many good things to say about the experience. My husband and I did not make a reservation, we arrived around 6:15 and they were still able to seat us quickly. Our waitress was very helpful in making our entrée selections she recommended the seared duck breast or scallop entrée. I was torn between the two, so, I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the duck. I was impressed with both entrees. They were great! The duck was tender and warm throughout with a pink center. My dish had the most amazing flavor, the scallops were served on a bed of cauliflower gratin and creamed spinach and all of it had a light creamy sauce over it… I savored every bite! They bring you crackers and herbed cheese prior to your meal, the presentation would be improved with nicer crackers these were crackers you would find at the grocery store, this does not change how enjoyable the meal was. We will definitely return!

Great food and service. Been here 3 or 4 times. Each a good experience. Last meal was the seafood bowl of goodness. Don’t recall the fancy name, but it disappeared quickly. 5-stars if they upgraded their bread or something rather than crackers. On my list of goodies when I’m in Huntsville.

Visited for our aniversary. Go there 3 or 4 times a year. At this week’s visit we saw that the prices have gone up perhaps by 35%. The bacon wrapped scallops are no longer offered. I usually get the lamb chops, usually fantastic but this time they were tough. My asparagus was old and dried out. My wife said her meal was mostly flavorless. I loved my previous visits, but not this time.

I love this restaurant! They have excellent food, they know my name, and they have the best crab bisque I have ever tried! This is our go-to place when we want to celebrate– whether it is a birthday, or just a TGIF. I Think they have the best filet in town. The house salad is also a favorite.

Good lunch spot, although the tables are close together. The service is consistently good as is the food. The menu doesn’t change from year to year. I can recommend the beef tips, you can’t go wrong there. Most of the items on the menu are heavy, not fried and oily, but big portions so bring your appetite.

Located in a less than conspicuous location on South Parkway, many overlook this restaurant. Even though it is right on Parkway, the signage is not highly visible and the front is minimalistic. I often forget about this gem. The premise is cozy and many tables have been crammed in to accommodate loyal patrons. I do wish that there was a bit more space but it’s a price to pay for good food. The food quality is always top notch. I typically order Salmon and request to get it blackened. The chef is more than willing to oblige and it is delicious!

Dear D&L how is it I’ve not posted a review after all these years? Maybe that one hiccup where I was overserved a sauce with my salmon. I digress. That was obviously an anomaly. Today I whole heatedly thank you for the most excellent family-girl lunch evah. Period. Last Monday(when most restaurants are closed and for good reason. Peeps need sleep) The pecan encrusted trout special was clearly the clean eating winner although my sister ordered it so I only had a bite. The hericot vert and squash purée made a party in your mouth experience, with the trout. The potato leek soup would bring any Bobby Flay competitor to his knees on flavor and decadence and the salmon with buerre blanc atop wilted spinach and mixed seasonal veggies(squash, zucchini) awakened a desire to go vegan. Something about their tea was addictive and filled tea to go to was free. Don’t miss the cheese plate which is really an herbed cheese spread with crackers. On previous visits it was a comp app brought to the table with waters but now is a menu item. Stand by for the kudos to staff and more about the layout and décor. I’m hungry and have to get a bite. Somewhere… To update: The staff were awesome and the restaurant was full of business diners, blue haired groups of ladies, couples and singles. Our server had 1 ~ 12 top, and when she cashed them out, she was all ours. I asked if Mom and I could share the salmon plate and not only did she bring out a second plate for sharing, she actually brought it out plated for two people(no extra cost). Nice touch! They closed at 2:00, and we were walking out right before 2:00. A young lady came in and asked for a to go Mediterranean salad and, while many or most places would give back an attitude such as «I’m busy getting things ready for dinner,» nooooo, the server was so kind and said«sure, it’ll be ready in a minute.» The back patio is really inviting and I look forward to the one week out of the year(springtime?) when the bougainvillea are in bloom. Upstairs is a bar with 1 romantic 2-top and several 4-tops that can be configured numerous ways. I’ve been here for special occasions, romantic dinners, lunch with friends, and taken family on numerous occasions as well as dined alone — all have been good, with the exception of the salmon swimming in sauce, but that was years ago. :-) Good wine list, nice cozy bar upstairs(I don’t recall a TV anywhere, which is refreshing!) and delicious food and gracious service. Locally owned. You’re welcome!

My fiancé and I went here for our anniversary, and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We had the bacon wrapped scallops – absolutely amazing! Our entrees were good, nothing to write home about though. We had the quail and the pasta I can’t remember the name of… It was spicy and tomato based. She added Cajun shrimp to it, and it was pretty good. Dessert is what really blew our minds. We got the small size of the chocolate eruption and the Toasted Almond milkshake. Both were absolutely incredible. The server was nice and attentive. We can’t wait to go back!

This is by far our favorite restaurant in Huntsville. The portions are more than generous, and the staff are friendly and professional. My wife had the filet, and it was superb. The duck breast was also fabulous and I hear their salmon is phenomenal. Definitely try the crab bisque(voted Top 50 Dishes to Try in Huntsville). Check them out!

Went in one rainy and very cold night. The service was excellent. The décor is country/french, not bad for a strip mall location. The food was good to excellent depending on the dish. I had the bouillabaisse which was a saffron like broth not my favorite but still very good as was the seafood in it. Servings were plenty large as well, as I ended up with 2 additional meals. Good selection of wines. Best of all the service was unpretentious unlike Grill 29, which may think they are«the» restaurant but are actually just an imitation of a classy place to eat. Expect to spend $ 35 to $ 50 plus dollars per person including wine and appetizer.

For lunch or for dinner you can’t go wrong here. Great wine list at reasonable prices, Beef Tips at lunch are fantastic, and the Rack of Lamb at night is best in town.

I love D&L Bistro for lunch. It’s quiet and both the food and the service are incredible. When you dine there, you completely forget that it’s in a shopping strip off Memorial Parkway!

Bistro salad is one of the best salads along with the cheese plate is why I come back every so often. The place its self needs some work carpet is absolutely disgusting and needs pulled up. Other dishes are usually good but I tend only to go here for lunch as I think dinner is over priced here. Much better places to spend top $$$ at. Recommend for lunch only

D&L used to be one of my favorite places to go I Huntsville for lunch: it’s quiet; tucked away in a shipping centre that seems at least a few decades past prime and yet feels somehow quaint. The food has always been solid though maybe for good reason; the menu hasn’t changed much since I started coming in 2005. Solid food, but not really standout. There isn’t a dish I haven’t tried on the lunch menu at least once. It’s lowly lit even on sunny days but that doesn’t take away from its charm and you can sit outside at the right time of year if sunshine is a requirement. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad or even semi-bad server. Most are at least friendly and talkative and jovial at best. The same crowd seems to come here, maybe as they have for years now. If you want somewhere quiet to hang out and contemplate into mid — afternoon, this is your spot.

Our meal to celebrate our hard-working daughter’s excellent quarter grades in nursing at UAH was excellent. My wife’s grilled tuna won for best feature, but my chicken piccata and daughter’s bouillabaisse were strong runners-up. And my daughter enjoyed her tiramisu to bits. Service was excellent, much better than the earlier-reviewed trip. The restaurant itself is still kind of … odd … we sat upstairs; the floor trembled every time a server marched by. Got used to it, but it’s a funny feature in a fancy restaurant. Spent about $ 40 per person for salad, entrée with sides, dessert and a glass of wine. Not quite $$$$ unless you drink more than we did or everyone gets lobster. Go there.

Really good, great service, reasonable prices. Was greeted at the table with their herb infused cheese and assorted crackers. Ordered the mussels appetizer and it was really great, in a spicy tomato based sauce. Very tasty. Had the Asian salad, nice and sweet and coved with crispy noodles. Main dish was the Bouillabaisse! Do it! Seafood can be hard to come by in Huntsville, as well as French food in general. Had scallops, fish, mussels and small shrimp. Great for Huntsville, but could have used a few clams and larger shrimp. Overall, very tasty. Dessert was the crème brûlée. I took and posted photos of everything other than the salad, so you could get an idea of portions and presentation. Having moved from a much bigger city a a year ago, I am thankful to have a cozy dinner place that features French cooking in a town otherwise devoid of international flavors. Check the photos!
