Visited because 2 coworkers came for lunch and told me how good it was. I had the 3 meat plate w/2 sides. Pulled pork, brisket and chicken breast. Green beans which were amazing and potato salad. The meat all had a great flavor but the brisket was dry. I will definitely have the pulled pork gain! Want to try something amazing? Mix the sweet and spicy bbq sauce 50⁄50! By the way, they have free soft serve ice cream!

The food is excellent! Seating is limited and crowded. It can be hard to read the menu because of the layout. They should have paper menus by the door. It would be hard for our family of five to eat in the restaurant. They definitely need to expand. My husband and I went there for lunch and will definitely return.

Food was hot when it came. But we only got half the food we were almost done when the other half came.

Food is the same but service is improved — the staff is more familiar with their specials and deals. The place is also still horribly cramped. Despite any threats to the contrary, they are still in the same tiny, unexpanded space. The food is worth trying but I can’t imagine going during any rush times.

We like this BBQ place. Definitely Texas style smokehouse BBQ. And they cater as well. We served their food at a house party and everyone loved it. One of our favorites.

It’s a good standby. Not great by any means, but it’s fast casual BBQ. If you want more authentic Texas BBQ in Huntsville, go to the Chuckwagon on Hwy 20. The good part of Dickey’s is the food is usually pretty good consistently, and pork is not the primary meat option unlike most places around here. Large variety of side items, including fried foods that are fresh to your order. Bad news on that is that you have to wait for them to fry everything up, and they have to bring it out to you(a Dickey’s corporate thing, which I guess is relatively new because they didn’t do this at the Colorado chains). Dickey’s used to have Texas toast as part of every combo, but now it’s a corn biscuit which is good, but not Texas toast. Price is a little high for what you get, especially considering the fact this is a chain restaurant. $ 15 for a one meat combo with 2 sides and an adult drink is outrageous. I could almost get a meal for the whole family at Chipotle for $ 15. A combo like that at Moe’s would be about $ 12, and a combo at Lawler’s like this would be about $ 10. Quality should stand out with a price difference that big, but it doesn’t. The restaurant itself is small with only about 10 tables, many of which are 2 seaters. Hard to get the BBQ sauce because there is no place to set your food down… same with the drinks. Whoever it was at Dickey’s corporate who designed this place, he should be fired. No reason for this place to be this small. Service is terrible. The guy cutting the meat consistently ignores the customers, unless it’s someone he likes or recognizes. Every time I go in here, at least one side item is forgotten. That is regardless of whether I order online or show up in person. Customers are usually ticked off because of the bad customer service, which is a shame because this place could be a whole lot better than it is with some better staff. I remember when this place first opened, you couldn’t get in and couldn’t find a table on any weeknight. Now, it’s easy because no one goes here any more. Wonder why…

We had the pork sandwich special & it was very good! Potato salad not so much– wish it was homemade! Small place — need to expect to order to go cause there is not enough seats. Outdoor seating would be nice but not sure if it’s allowed.

As good as any BBQ joint there is. The brisket is better than big bob gibsons and the sauces are great.

Excellent stuffed pork potato and the employees were friendly and helpful. The free ice cream was an added bonus. I will definitely eat here again.

Where do I begin? Very few places to sit so I would not go there during any times that might be busy times. The lady who madw my sandwich was rude. I said four times that I wanted no pickles or onions. So she puts them on and I say that I do not want them so she throws them back into the bins to use on the next sandwich. She also smarted off to me. After I told her no pickles or onions for the fourth time she said I should have been listening cause she asked me. I guess I need to practice my listening skills. Also I had to beg for sides. I asked twice for mac and cheese and baked beans. I should have let it go because they were horrible. The meat was dry. The only good thing was the free ice cream. Too many other places in this area to go to. It may be the worst experience I have had in madison county. UPDATE: Went back after talking to the owner, who seemed to be a good guy. The service was more organized. I believe they worked to streamline the process and it went smooth, even though it was extremely busy. I believe in giving places second chances, especially after they wanted to look into the problems. I will go back, because I believe they want to make things right. Also, the owner said the ice cream is lactose free. That will be good news to my daughter!

Two tries and never successfully had my order taken. Both times there were more employees than customers. I stood at the counter while the«order» guy stared downward and would not acknowledge my presence. I think he has to «prepare» the meat for the previous order before he’ll take the next. Other employees behind the counter made eye contact but said nothing. A simple«sir we’ll be right with you would have been fine». I had my watch set for a wait time of 5 minutes and walked out both times. Won’t be try again. Rudest customer service in Huntsville.

One word… Brisket. Excellent flavor, tender and smokey. I had the one meat plate with two sides and bread for $ 10.50. The baked potato casserole with cheese and chives were a great compliment. Searing it’s tight. Only a handful of tables. Overall, great choice

I heard a lot about Dickey’s but thought it was only average. Now I did only get the chicken so maybe that was a mistake. I would go again but don’t expect to have your mind blown.

BRISKET all week long with NORMALBUSINESSHOURS! Hell ya! :D Their Deal of the Day is quite a good deal too. The people behind the counters were nice with big smiles. The food was decent. The brisket was tender and plentiful. Wish their BBQ sauce was better; the spicy one wasn’t spicy at all. Also wish they have bigger seating area since it gets very crowded during lunch hours. Nevertheless, it’s one of the better BBQ joint in town despite it being a chain. Dessert: FREE soft serve ice cream: D

Great value with Deal of the Day. Food is great. Fast service and free ice cream. Seating is very limited so it gets crowded fast

I’m glad I came in here on a not-so-busy night(Monday night around 7), I can see how this place would be frustrating if it ever gets busy. the space is VERY small. No waitress service, you order your food at the counter and try to find a place to sit. What doesn’t help is that while you wait for your turn to order, the place smells SOGOOD. I ordered the brisket and honey ham. Great brisket, good tenderness. Honey ham was probably a mistake, i don’t know why i did that. The sausages my husband ordered looked really good as well. We both ordered fried okra as a side and not only you get a big bag the size of a sofa cushion, but you can actually taste the okra instead of the crusty blegh-ness with green specks in it that you usually get for a fried okra side. Other nice amenities: warm bbq sauce, free ice cream, sweet roll, reasonably priced Their tagline should really be: Just as good food as Chuck Wagon, but cheaper and ACTUALLY open!

Fantastic food and extraordinary customer service! Came in a few minutes to close and they still were friendly and hospitable to me and made me feel like family. The food as always was fresh, tasty and consistently great! Love their pulled pork sandwich but really love their customer service and professionalism… even at just before closing. Oh yeah, their sweet tea is second to none!

Great food but that’s all they offer. My friends and I arrived at opening time, 11:00 on Friday, Sept 12, but we had to wait at least another 15 min before they were ready to take orders. They won’t even acknowledge your presence until they are ready to go either. Not a word about what’s going on or why you can’t order. I ordered the two meat plate and the food was great but the meats resembled more of an appetizer than a meal. So here we are, waiting forever to order, small portions, and that was just the start. There was no ice in the drink machine, the sauces are tucked into the most unreachable part of the counter, in the corner between the drink machine and the ice cream machine. The sauces were clearly leftovers as even though we were the first guests to arrive the vessels were almost empty. Meanwhile, you couldn’t get close to getting the sauce because the staff was filling the drink machine with ice and the ice cream station with cones. The place is tiny too so if you show up much past 11:00 forget about getting a table.

We tried to go here for lunch. There was already a line and it grew to out the door while we were there. We waited for five minutes. Not one employee greeted anybody or said anything about the wait. We along with others eventually left and went next door to Panera. Terrible service.

Went here for lunch at what seemed to be a really busy time. This location has very limited seating and if it is busy, don’t expect to eat in. Fortunately the seated crowd seems to turn over quickly. I got the«Big BBQ» sandwich, comes topped with your choice of meat topped with pickles and raw onions. Helping on the meat portion was good, didn’t quite look like their photo but close. Free soft serve ice cream is a plus. But no banana pudding sold here???
