I just got back home from doing some Christmas shopping with my Mom and the amount of assistance we received while looking for clothing was impressive! Maria was more than happy to help us find some pants, she was fabulous. Marco went out of his way to help us out in the Polo section. Great experience.

So… this is a pretty good Dillard’s for the size, but as I was followed around by security nearly the entire time I shopped, it will probably be a long time before I return. This is really disappointing, because I worked at a huge 2-story Dillard’s through college and was consistently the top seller in my department and a few times the whole store, so I’m partial/nostalgic to this department store over most others. I just moved back to the States from Germany, so was a bit like a kid in a candy store.(If nothing else, because clothes are WAY cheaper here). I looked at a display of French bras, and there was a man in a suit staring at me from across the department. OK, weird, I thought. Then I walked over to shoes, and there he was again. I tried on some shoes with the help of an associate and when I glanced up, he was gone. I continued looking around the store, with sporadic greetings from employees, but I was just in my happy little bubble… until he would all but pop up in nearly every department I walked by. It was starting to get REALLY unsettling. I found a great Zac Posen(Zac Posen in a Dillard’s! Movin’ on up!) mini bag on clearance and chatted with the sales girl who rang me up, then wandered to the jewelry department. There was a rack of marked down cuff earrings. I held a pair up to my ears without removing them from the card and looked in the mirror… only to see the afore-mentioned man was standing behind the counter staring at me! He never even said a word, smiled at me, asked if I needed help, just stared or pretended to tidy up each department he was in. Dillards employees work in ONE department, not 5 or 6! That was the final straw and I left soon after. I strongly considered returning the purse on principle. This is absolutely INFURIATING. I have never stolen a thing in my life, and as a legitimate shopper and former employee, nothing feels worse than being treated this way. Because of what I do for a living, I pay very close attention to my surroundings, so perhaps I’m just hyperaware. But I don’t know if I can return here.

The customer service in the men’s department is outstanding. Daniel went out of his way to help us find a white dress shirt that fits. Overall, he made it a very pleasant shopping experience for us.

This is really a review for the Hair Cut Salon upstairs next to house wares. I paid $ 15.50 for a haircut and was sorely disappointed. I honestly don’t believe the girl that cut my hair had been in her job for more than a year. She had to get«a second opinion» and that’s when I knew I was in trouble. She was nice enough, but I just don’t think she should cut men’s hair. I have what looks to be almost a small bald spot on the side of my head thanks to her over-aggressive use of the clippers. Unbelievable! I would’ve given it one star if she hadn’t gotten help from another more experienced hair stylist. I hardly ever write bad reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others. The sad part is, I think there’s really only one girl there that wasn’t great. So, it’s quite possible you might have a different experience. I think I just«lucked out» getting the more inexperienced stylist there. Oh well. It’ll grow back, right? 8^) John H.
