Garvin C T Seed and Feed

C.T. Garvin is a well organized feed and seed store. I went to look at some plants for my garden this year but was also pleasantly surprised with all of the other options they had to offer as well.
Out of all of the nurseries that I have been to in Huntsville, Garvins had the best selection of vegetable seeds and plants at a low cost too!
Everyone who worked there was friendly and you might even get to take a chick home with you!
I’m happy this country store is nearby and I’ll be going back for garden and yard necessities.

Really diverse selection of (both «wet» and «dry» dog and cat foods with a lot of premium natural/​holistic varieties that you cannot find in other stores. Brand examples are: Innova, Halo, Taste of the Wild, Chicken Soup for the Dog/​Cat Lover, etc. At times, they’ve had barrels with good sized samples of both dog and cat food, so you don’t have to spend a fortune buying a large bag to see your sweet fur baby turn their nose up at it!
Staff are friendly and helpful and know their stuff. They’ve always helped me to my car with the big bags of dog food.
We buy mineral licks for the deer in the backyard here, too.
Try CT Garvin. They are more than a feed and seed shop. Cute garden items, and hats, and other unique things, too. Unlike petco or petsmart, they don’t keep long hours, so check the web site/​call before going.

You want seeds? They got seeds. I get 90% of my garden supplies here. They also have an amazing amount of pet products. Cool store, nice people.

I got my starter plants for my Chili farm here this year. All the plants grew OK. This place is like walking into Wild Western frontier Store in the 1800’s. You can see stuff in really dated containers, and stuff you didn’t know existed, like Udder Cream for cows. There is also a big dresser, with baby chickens in it, if you fancy starting off your own egg-​laying farm. I saw a sad sign of the times when I was in. An old 75 – 80 yr old farmer came in and asked for 4 bags of ammonium nitrate for his fields. He was told that they don’t sell it anymore due to the Patriot act, he then said «aw, you better give me 6 bags of urea then»…useful info, now I know the equivalence of ammonium nitrate and urea for fertilizing crops.

Great selection of pet supplies, toys, treats, food and accessories. My go-​to store for all of my dogs needs. I really enjoy my shopping trips here compared to the University Avenue chain stores. It’s a charming little place and a real pleasure to support.
