Mapco Express

This is a pretty nice gas station. They’ve a deli on the inside and clean bathrooms. We stopped in to get some gas and a drink before heading back to Nashville. They unfortunately have Coke products on the soda fountain, I prefer Pepsi. Anyway, I asked the cashier how much they charge for ice and was told 50 cents for a large cup or FREE if I had my own cup. So I grabbed my Tervis out of the car and filled it up. I luckily had a can of Pepsi in the car so it worked out! Thanks for the free ice, Mapco! It’s also that great crushed ice, the stuff that is great to munch on.

Don’t go to the deli, it’s not a nice place! I went there once to try the sandwiches and I will never go back there! I Besides the sandwiches being very expensive and not very good (there are cheaper places in town with better quality food), I witnessed the deli manager talking down to and belittling one of her employees, who was actually doing nothing wrong. I honestly don’t know why the employee didn’t walk out. They claim to be customer-​service oriented… well, what kind of place yells at their employees in front of the customers. It’s not only is it degrading to the employee but it also makes the customers feel very uncomfortable! Maybe that’s why there always hiring. Lol! Don’t go there!

This store is busy somewhat unkempt and the employees appear to be overworked as in stressed out. But the overall experience wasn’t bad but could have been better. I guess I’m spoiled I like individual attention when i go shop somewhere and here its just not practical. I would return though.

I couldn’t get either of 2 gas pumps to work with the gas pumps outside outside. I tried 2 different pumps and both of them kept locking up. Neither of the pumps «call assistant» buttons worked either so I had to go in to prepay for gas which means I had to guess at how much gas i needed for my fill up. I prepaid for $ 35 and as I proceeded to pump the gas, the gas kept cutting off unless I pumped it as slow as I could as the handle wouldn’t lock either. As I got close to my prepaid $ 35.00, the gas pump didn’t seem to be slowing down at all either. After I got my gas, I went back inside to tell them about the slow pump and how the handle kept cutting off while I pumped the gas, hoping that one of the 3 folks in there would maybe look into these issues, but all they said to me was «you got your gas didn’t you?» This Mapco was more than staffed with help, too, as one of the gentleman appeared to be a manager. Overall it took me about 15 mins. to pump and pay for just 9 gallons of gas!

Excellent customer service and great food at the deli. The store, including the restrooms, was very clean. This is not your average convenience store.

Stopped here on opening day and boy they have more than plenty of employees working here. Most gas station/​convenience stores usually only have two employees working. Maybe because it’s their grand opening, but they were overly friendly and helpful.
It seems Mapco has really focused on making their coffee bar a great experience. Yeah it’s gas station coffee, but I’m no Starbuck drinker anyways.
