Moved to Huntsville a couple months back and always looking for things to do with my 2 boys(3 ½ and 4 ½). My kids love coming here because of all the cool gizmos and areas, and the learn at the same time about science which is great! They sell Family Memberships for a year was like $ 75 which is unreal. Join and go often, since it then is FREE! We live a couple miles form here and run in here for an hour or so every other week at least, b/c gets them out of the heat, they can play, run, and learn — and once a member it is free! Great place for great price with membership. REMINDER — they have a sign that says no one may come in within one hour of closing. I assume so they don’t mess things up, as the kids are cleaning. AND — one time I came in literally 59 minutes before the closed — to let my kids play after an 8 hour car ride from… and had MAJOR issue when the girl at desk wasn’t going to let us in. I told her, I was a member, the place was empty — literally, and we would be gone in 30 minutes… and it took me really showing how unhappy I was to get her to say ok. I get rules, but that one seemed nuts and workers need to feel they have a bit of flexibility to use common sense. Otherwise, great place!

This was the first time we have visited in their new location. I went today with my three boys(ages 5, 10, and 12). We were not overly impressed. The new facility is nicer but exhibits are still broken. The staff(mostly teenagers) seemed utterly bored although they were polite when addressed. The two activities that all kids seem to enjoy(magnetic sand and building ramps) we small so only 2 or three kids could participate at one time. It would be great if the staff would proactively engage the kids and if there were 2 levels of explanation(one lower and one higher) of the various scientific concepts. All in all, it is a fun afternoon for younger kids but there are lots of other things to do in Huntsville!

we visited on a Tuesday afternoon and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. There were a lot of things to do. My 5 year old daughter had a lot of fun. The upstairs was roped off so we were not able to go up there. I am guessing that is where the playhouse is because I didn’t see it on the first floor. The earthquake and bubbles were my daughter’s favorites.

Really great! The playhouse is fun, cool and nice. I bring my kids there a lot. And they think everything is awesome!

Kids(5&10) enjoyed this better than the space and rockets, there was so much more their busy little fingers could touch. There were some nonworking exhibits like some other reviewers said, but most were working well. Even lowtech things like the funny mirrors, xylophones, and the treehouse were big hits.
