Sunrise Academy

As a parent pretty experienced with residential facilities for adolescents (and believe me it’s embarrassing to admit) this place was honestly the worst I’ve come across. If you are looking to simply warehouse your child (and believe me I know some parents need just that) this place will do. If you want healing and growth and self discovery to happen this would be a absolute waste of money. I would imagine as any other parent looking into facilities, you are hoping to have someplace and someone assist you in handling things as a parent you have not been able to do with any success at home. So again this place will gladly accept your money, but they absolutely won’t help you as a parent learn better how to communicate with your child or help your child see that self destruction is not the way to success or even the way back home. There are no consequences for anything, they will however not let your child phase up which means nothing more than more money and longer time at Sunrise and the kids there don’t care about phasing up or down either since on any pass they can do anything they want to. Sure it’s a business like all facilities, but there are facilities that you will absolutely see a change in your child with (believe me) and this is not one of those places. Very unprofessional. Any facility that allows adolescents to continue to take passes even after they run away, or drink, or break every rule they are told to obey while on a pass speaks for itself.
Do your research it is your child.
