I also purchased a living social for a mani pedi combo and was never able to redeem. Scam! Avoid!

I also purchased a groupon deal to receive a Mani AND Pedi for Bella Body Oils — which was located on Denton HWY at the time. I purchased the groupon in I think June 2013 with the intent to get my nails done before my baby shower in October 2013. My first couple of attempts at scheduling my appnt online did not allow any appnts in October. As we neared October the only appnts showing were in Nov. I sent a message to be contacted as I initially thought something was wrong if there were only two dates available in Nov and we were still in Sept! Edith contacted me via text explaining that appnts were only made via the website and what was showing up was all that was available. So I begrudgingly made my appnt for November and left a note in the comments to please let me know if anything opened up the week of either of my shower dates which I had listed. Edith replied via text again and informed me that she does not take a wait list and I would have to check back on the site for availability. I ended up going somewhere else to get my nails done for my shower. Upon arriving at my appnt with Edith, she promptly informed me that she would not be giving me a pedicure due to me being pregnant. I didn’t recall seeing that anywhere in her policies aside from the non specific«we have the right to refuse any service» on the schedule page. So here I am 8+ months pregnant, all I wanted to start with was a pedicure as I never have polish on my finger nails due to the nature of the work I was in before… and she’s telling me I can’t get a pedicure. I asked why not, and she said due to the risks of starting labor… yada yada. I quickly explained to her that I am a massage therapist and am aware of the risks, wasn’t concerned and had several pedicures up until that point during my pregnancy. She said that she has worked in the medical field or something like that and that it was her choice not to give pedicures to pregnant women. ANDTHEN elluded to the fact that she cared more about her clients than some of those other nail salons… So I then asked what I was supposed to do since the groupon was nearing it’s expiration date. To which she replied«I’m about to tell you if you let me finish» that she would give me a second Manicure(Which I didn’t want) or I could return after I have my baby and get the Pedicure. I was quite perturbed. hormonal… i JUSTWANTED A FREAKINGPEDICURE! Anyhoo, she gives me the manicure, which was just okay. certainly not worth the regular rate for the work she gave me. I was under the impression from the groupon that we would be given a choice of fragrant oil, but she just placed one on the table and said that was my oil. The massage portion of the manicure was all wrong. her strokes were the wrong direction for proper blood flow. I feel that someone concerned with inducing labor with a pedicure should know the proper direction to massage someones arms AND should know that the same reflex points in the feet used for labor induction are also in the hands and wrists… so if you refuse a pedicure for that reason MAYBE you should refuse a manicure as well! OR maybe you could learn the proper techniques to use in order to expand your audience. I’m just saying. It shoud also be noted that she barely engaged in any conversation with me, in fact the only things I recall are when she gave instruction for washing my hands etc. there was a movie playing on the TV behind her. It wasn’t family friendly, but to her credit she doesn’t service to a family clientele… AFTER the manicure was over, she asked if I knew when I would like to come in for the pedicure. So this kind of pissed me off even further than I already was… My due date was Dec 29. This is my first child. I didn’t feel the need to explain my Birth Plan to her so I stated I wasn’t really sure what my schedule would be like. To which she replied«You don’t know when you’ll have a baby sitter?» I wanted to say something along the lines of NO B***H, What business is it of yours anyway?!? but I said instead that I was planning to stay home with my baby, but I guess maybe my sister could watch her on a friday… I guess sometime around the end of January would work. I guess about the same day/time as that day that I was there. I totally felt bullied into scheduling that appnt and clearly she is NOT okay with me bringing my newborn along for the appnt even IF i had someone there with me/her. Who leaves their breastfed nb for that long of a time that soon after being born? I couldn’t imagine! ALLOFTHAT to say that this has been the most ridiculous nail service experience I have EVER in 34 years of living life, and 8 years working in the Massage/Salon industry EVER experienced! E-V-E-R. I’m happy to say that Groupon credited me for half of my services after I explained this whole scenario to them. As I suspected when booking the pedicure for January, there was NO reminder courtesy call/text/email.

I purchased the Groupon and had trouble scheduling since the website had no appointments for 8 weeks out. I went to my appointment(8 weeks later) and walked in to find an aloof Edith. Her first comments to me were that I should have already taken my gel polish off before coming to see her, I’m sorry professional nail salons take it off for me. Then she put enough tin foil over my fingers to wrap leftovers for a week. It took her 2 hours to remove the polish and apply new polish. The polish she put on is all over my cuticles and other skin around my finger nails. I went in with longish rounded nails and came out with very short, square nails. She complained about her life/husband/family or tried to impress me with whom she has worked on in the past and how she is an x-ray tech. She even told me that she did not contact Groupon they contacted her. She could give manicures for free and I wouldn’t go back.

So if you book a appointment and you receive a confirmation email that day for the service you booked and you get sent a reference number etc I guess that is irrelevant and doesn’t mean you have a booking according to Edith. And she clearly couldn’t care less and instead just says I booked it incorrectly on her system which is the only option u have to book seeing as she doesn’t answer her phone or call you back. Thanks for the snotty text messages and voicemail simce i posted my reviews Edith. I wouldn’t bother going to this salon unless u have a groupon but even then I would just get my money back because its not really worth it because the salon inside isn’t that nice either. Went there before using living social and funny how there was no problem with my appointment then. Edith there is way too much competition out there for you to treat customers the way u do. And you must be crazy to think that they will want to come to your salon again after that! I wish i would have read all these negative reviews before now and not wasted my time booking nail appointment 6 weeks out. Instead all i saw was the good ones that edith must have filtered out and compiled on a website link. Just so you guys know this is the same salon that is now located in wautauga tx same person etc as the one on the address listed above that is not acurate.

I cannot say I have actually been to Bella Body Oil’s yet– but that is the problem. I bought a Livingsocial voucher and the week before it was due to expire– I contacted the business to set up an appointment for my mani/pedi bought(let’s keep in mind appointments are RARELY made just for mani/pedi’s in my experience). Firstly– after leaving a voice-mail, the business person contacted me back via text– SUPER unprofessional. She then directed me to the website to book the appointment online. Went to the website– there were THREE open days with ONE time slot each day left for the entire month of June(this was on the 11th– so plenty of days left). So then I texted her back with this information asking if there was some availability the coming week for me to come in to redeem this mani/pedi voucher. She responded saying whatever the website showed was what was available… once again not helpful. I explained that I was trying to use the voucher I had– and asked if I would be able to do so. She referred me to the website again for availability and the voucher for the fine print. Needless to say– after all this I was thoroughly irritated and annoyed by the lack of customer service and concern this business clearly demonstrates. I contacted Livingsocial and they as well were less than concerned and helpful with my situation. After all this I will definitely not be buying any more deals to this business and not be buying any deals from Livingsocial(since all the deal websites offer the same ones). Very disgruntled and disappointed.
