Sears Auto Center

This place inspired me to write my first review because the service was that bad. I’ve been here about four separate times for a variety of issues because I have a Sears card.
I won’t go in depth on the previous visits because they aren’t fresh in my mind but once was for brake service where I just needed the pads replaced. I was first in the garage that morning with an appointment and spent all day in their waiting room purgatory watching crappy ABC soap operas while dozens of customers came and went. Seven hours later (6 hours later than their estimated time) a mechanic told me that they did not have the right part and I would have to come in the next day. No biggie though, I sacrificed my entire day because some lazy mechanic couldn’t check to see if he had the part within ten minutes of me rolling in or even when I made the appointment the previous week. After coming back the next day and another four hours of wait time despite being first in the shop again I was good to go on my brand new brakes. I came in about a month later for alignment on another car which took about four hours longer than it needed to be which is to say that I had to wait four hours and fifteen minutes but otherwise uneventful.
So about a month ago I get a coupon in the mail for a free oil change using my card points. Sure why not I tell myself. Its an oil change how bad can these clowns screw that up, it’s only the easiest car care thing you can do behind changing the wiper blades. This oil change was valued at 45 $ so you knew that it would be special since it was 20 $ more than literally any garage in the entire state.
First in the garage today, awesome. Oil change please, OK we’re on a roll here. Somehow this stupid manager took my Vin number and mileage down in two minutes flat I couldn’t believe my eyes. He told me that it would be done in thirty minutes and I thought that maybe things had changed in the garage for the better, on the receipt it even had an «on time guarantee».
I had spent about two hours resisting the urge to end my life while watching good morning america when this manager walked in to the waiting room holding my clean air filter that I put in less than two months ago in his hand. This filter is whiter than uncut cocaine and the manager asked me if I wanted them to replace it. No are you kidding me its been two hours and as far as I know all they’ve done is pull out my air filter.
If I still had a garage and an oil pan I could have drained and refilled my oil twenty times by this point. Literally anybody no matter how stupid they are could walk down to their local library, check out a Chilton repair manual, walk down to pep boys, have a thirty minute conversation with the teenager working there on the merits of 10w oil as opposed to 5w, walk home, walk back to pep boys because he forgot to get an oil filter, have another thirty minute conversation, walk home and do the thing himself in the time it takes these mechanics at sears to do it.
Finally the cars done and sitting in the parking lot but wait, now Mr manager needs to look up my account info to apply the coupon. Two minutes tops you may be thinking. Wrong. It wasn’t until he spent thirty minutes on hold with sears customer support that we realized that he completely butchered my name phone number and email used to identify me as an account holder. OK easy fix let’s put in the correct info this time and run it again. Sears literally says I’m not a customer there and I have no reward card. Not even scanning the rewards card I hold in my hand can convince the system otherwise. Just take off the price of the coupon maybe? It was ~10 $ the remaining 35 $ came off my unredeemable rewards points. No the manager couldn’t figure out how to put that in the system either. Forget it I’m already an hour late for work and I’ve spent two and a half hours in this miserable place. I pay 45 $ for an oil change and leave.
Honestly and I am being 100% sincere here I do believe this place is worth a stop. The place is like Ripley’s believe it or not museum. There’s very few places I’ve been in my life as surreal as this garage. Linear time apparently has no grip on this place as estimates are consistently ¼ of the correct time. A manager that is practically don Quixote had he run a sears auto center. A wait room that seems like it would be suited as a room in a haunted house. A staff that knows so little about cars that whoever walks in the store off the street would probably be more qualified to run the business than them. So seriously stop in it truly is an experience to behold if you can figure out how this place is still in business please let me know because I honestly can not wrap my mind around it. After your time here you will appreciate the other mechanics in the area so much more, I recommend etheridge on hwy 26 about ten minutes away in colleyville.

only an initial review… since the car has been dropped but not yet repaired. we used them before for scheduled maintenance after the dealer screwed up a few times. we were pleased so we brought the hoopty after-​hours. hoping they earn a 5 star when it’s over.

I was passing through and thought I had a low tire, stopped in and John greeted me in the shop and checked my tire quickly. No I did not spend any money here but that did not matter to John. Great service!

Disgusted by this place. My girlfriend stopped there after her car started having issues this week. She was nearly in tears, worried about what it might be and how much it might cost. Without even looking at her car or asking many questions they blew her off out of sheer laziness. The employee told her she would need to get that checked out at a dealer without even walking out to her car.
Besides being an asinine thing to do to a young woman in trouble, from a business standpoint it’s incredibly shortsighted. I’ll never go back there again.

Perhaps the slowest place on earth. The guys on duty today didn’t get in line for the customer service class. The waiting room has the most uncomfortable chairs which make the eternity that you have to sit in them unbearable.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. 25 mins in line to pick up my truck followed by another 25 waiting for the «mod» to fix their mistake. I have a 2002 Dodge 1500. I come in for an oil change and when I pick up they try to sell me on a left battery. My truck does not have two batteries so I chalked it up to him being stupid. Come to find out he charged me for a different trucks service. And the Mod out loud make him look like a buffoon in front of customers. Needless to say I’m not going to be giving them my business anymore.

Love this stinking place!!! My maintenance light came on three days ago. I said I would go get an oil change yesterday but I decided I rather have some fun. Because my car is not important. Cat’s fun time is more important!
Today is Sunday and I felt like getting an oil change because I have nothing fun planned. Just wanted to get out of the house. Lucky me, Sears is open on Sunday! double lucky me because they are having a special! $ 17.99 for an oil change! UM HECK YES! triple lucky me because it was done in like 20 minutes. I sat down, played some angry birds and bam, «mam, your car is done» who? me? «yes, you» well, that was gosh darn fast!!!
I paid and left them a good survey because they deserved it! everyone was so nice! I will definitely come back!

I have been going to them for several years for my tire and battery needs and have always received quick, efficient, and courteous service and competitive prices.
Today (on a Sunday) I stopped by because I needed a headlight replaced. I had a replacement bulb in hand, but changing the headlights is complicated on my vehicle and not something I wanted to do myself. They did it free of charge and the technician wouldn’t even accept money when I offered it to him.
They will continue to get my repeat business!
