I really love taco cabana but this location is the worst I’ve been to in the DFW. The quality of the food is poor and service is also poor. Wish they would get better

ZEROSTARS if I could. I don’t know what this place is like in the evening. I came here for lunch to get a burrito. Around 2-ish, Thursday. My experience was extremely LAME. First, the attendant was an older man that had no idea what they sell there. I asked him what was in a steak burrito, he said, steak burrito. I asked again and could barely understand him. Why he’s working the window, I have no idea. I got my burrito fairly quick, but it was sloppy. Not wrapped well at all. They need to retrain these slackers. I was the ONLY customer in line. I looked inside while driving by and there was one other person eating. The foil of my burrito was open. The tortilla didn’t hold, everything falling out of it. They gave me two crumbled up napkins that looked used in my bag. I get its a fast food restaurant, but people still deserve to get what they pay for with they’re hard earned money.

This location was EXTREMELY slow with my order. Other TC’s take around five minutes to flll a regular order. Not this one! It took at least 10 minutes, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy! Thankfully, the food was fine, but I noticed the workers loafing around in the back. Nice to see everything, right? I would have given it one star, but the food turned put fine. Service sucks!

Don’t go late at night if you want to eat! I drove by at 11:30 when they close at midnight. They had turned the grills off and would not prepare food from the menu. Unacceptable. Closing time is midnight. Customers should be able to get standard menu items during open business hours. Ridiculous.

Food was great and made quickly. However the cashier was rude, the salsa bar was out of everything and was dirty. We were the only people in the restaurant, now I know why.

Cory ton my order. The guy was very nice and polite. As a manager I noted how well he did his job. I ordered a taco platter and the tacos were great, the beans were good. The rice was crunchy or I would have given the place 5 stars. This restaurant was clean and posted good service. Much better than my last visit to the beach st/western center location. That wad a disaster. Only complaint today is, they told me they took the tortilla soup off the menu. That made me sad.

This place can be good, depending on when you come. The staff is pretty friendly when they’re not busy. If you go during a rush you may end up waiting a long time. The food is okay and they have cheap margaritas and nachos during happy hour. They’re not equipped for much business so I def would advise against eating there if they’re busy.

The woman working this morning was very rude. Told me the total before I was finished ordering. Got to the window and she just stuck her hand out didn’t repeat the total and snatched my card.

Worst taco place i’ve ever been to… seriously disappointing! Walked in and no one was at the counter, someone saw we came in and came over to help us. I’m pretty sure she was high on something but anyway… no one else was in the shop, but it was raining pretty bad outside. We ordered and received our food. I realized we didn’t get our drink, so I went up to the counter and waited for someone to help me. I waited some more, and more… no one ever came, so I grabbed a cup from the counter myself and got my drink. The food was terrible, i’d rather have taco bell & i’m not kidding. Not fresh at all, and the quality of the meat was horrible. We didn’t finish our meals because they were that disgusting. I’ll never go to a Taco Cabana again — they have no idea what customer service, or quality food means. :/

Decent for tex-mex, the cashiers tend to be the excelling factor here. The chefs/servers not so much. My first visti, I moved to a quieter table as the server was bringing my food. I guided, but he was a bit rude. The second visit, the server(different one) brought me the wrong food entirely and seemed overall confused. I would go elsewhere, to be honest.

I’ve been going to these restaurants ever since they bought out the previous chain. The food is reliably good quality and they have the cheapest light-weight margarita in town. The salsa Verde is excellent and one of my favorites. If I’m not careful I’ve put it on everything without paying attention! Especially recommend the Brisket Tacos. The meat is delicious by itself, but the Salsa Bar has sufficient ingredients to «doctor» it if you like. I’m sure there are many delicious things on the menu. I remember enjoying their Fajita Taco Combo when they first launched that option. It’s fast, if you want drive-thru, but I generally prefer to go inside where I have access to the Salsa Bar. I recommend it for good, quality Tex-Mex food at an affordable price. Yes, unfortunately, I’ve also encountered a problem with employees who don’t know enough English to service the customers. They generally have to call a Manager or another employee. I consider this a problem with the management and feel strongly that they should not be putting employees to work if they cannot speak the language. I’ve experienced this in other restaurants(mostly fast food) and it is most aggravating. That does not, however, take away from the quality of the food.

Decided to stop here for lunch during a day of running errands. The staff was really nice and friendly. The chips were yummy … but dang those were the soggiest tacos I’ve had out outside of taco bell … and more expensive for what I could have gotten at a taco bell. Seriously it was gross and almost couldn’t eat the second taco that was under the first. I don’t know if I’ll be back with other taco options near by that I know I like better unless a friend conveniences me to give them another shot.

So I’m craving a taco or fajita meat salad And want a quiet place to eat so I stop in here. Should have taken the time to Unilocal this place :-/ At first glance of the menu board I could not even find a salad listed. Ok, no salad heading, I thought, so I started reading each item on the menu. The order taker behind the register is wanting to take my order. I mumbled something about where are your salad selections? The order taker is now talking to another employee not me. Another customer who had competed giving her order, answered my question«it’s under the ‘custom’ section» and sure enough, there it was. Kinda of a build-your-own salad similar to Chipotle’s. Ok, back to the order-taker who now seems focused on me. I told her«I want a sal– CRASH! The aforementioned employee had returned with a five gallon bucket of ice cubes and dumped it to ice down the assorted drinks in the built-in cooler between the two cash registers. «Nobody likes warm beer,» he quipped. «Really? Right now? I asked him. I looked behind me where there was no other customers ATALL!!! Thought that was strange for 1pm.(should have been another clue) He repeated his clever little quip. Obviously he knew he had interrupted my trying to order. The more experienced order taker apologized and then he did too. Ridiculous. I started again with my order. «I want a salad with…» order taker interrupts this time«with a shell or not?» With I said. «rice?» yea with rice, fajita chicken, cheese on the side. «want sour cream? Pico?» yes, yes. And a small drink. I pay and get receipt, number and a cup. I go fill up my drink and stop at condiment bar for line and cilantro. Kitchen is fast. Before I can sit down at a table, they brought my food out. But it is wrong. I ordered a salad remember? There is not one leaf of lettuce in this shell. I sent it back to the kitchen thinking they will remake it. NO! They just plopped about a third of a cup of romaine lettuce on top-called it a «salad» and sent it back out to me! By this time, I’m weary of dealing with these people. I ate it after I skimmed off the ½ cup of sour cream(I know, some like this much) Oh and the approximate 2 oz of chicken and tablespoon of pico were hard to find because of all the rice. This is supposed to be a salad!!! With cheese on the side which it wasn’t. Like I said, I was tired of this«battle» called lunch at Taco Cabana. Oh, but here’s the best part. While I’m eating in their dining room with only 3 other tables of patrons, the manager is supposed to be «meeting and greeting» his patrons but only talks to the one table of ladies. He’s too busy bragging about his gambling winnings and other exploits to really be promoting Taco Cabana. I was waiting to see if he’d stop and ask me if everything was«ok?» No he didn’t. An employee carrying orders out of the kitchen did ask me how the food was and I answered«ok, just ok.» Truthfully, it was edible and served at the right temperature. Customer service is absent in this location. Food is just okay. Next time, I’ll drive a few more blocks to Rosa’s. They have NEVER messed up my order, even in the drive-thru!!! Never, ever!!!

Should be zero stars! I was given some gift cards for Taco Cabana so I wanted to use them. Sorry to report that this was the worst Mexican food I’ve eaten since moving here over four years ago. The tortillas for the burritos and soft tacos were served cold, hard, and raw, and for $ 5.25 the brisket burrito was only filled half-way with ingredients – it was mostly(raw) tortilla. Basically you’re paying nearly twice as much as at a genuine Mexican taqueria for poor-quality fake Mexican food. Most of the customers were senior citizens who probably believed they could find Mexican food without venturing into an authentic Mexican neighborhood.

First visit to Taco Cabana was about a week ago. Driving by, I always had two thoughts. 1) Too expensive 2) Too«Taco Bell». I stopped in after reading a couple reviews. I had the taco salad bowl and my hubby had the enchilada plate. My toddler had a cheese quesadilla, but I can’t comment on his because he wouldn’t share and he ate it all. The taco salad bowl was big and heavy and filling. I had black beans, rice, cheese, lettuce blend, fajita chicken, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo, all in a taco bowl. The guacamole tasted citrus-y and it was strange that it didn’t have a strong avocado taste to it. My husbands entrée was ‘cool’, as he puts it… Now, about a week later, he can’t quite remember anything memorable about the entrée, but he knows he loved the ranch salsa. To me, it tasted faintly like cream of mushroom soup…(strange) and it you dipped your tortilla in it and ate it, it would taste like a shrimp sushi roll. It’s worth visiting if you’re tired of Taco Bell but don’t want to go authentic Mexican.

I was shocked to see the changes that they have done to this Taco Cabana(I must’ve been away for a while). They redesigned the lobby area to look more like a server type establishment(they even have a station –with a register– in the middle of the lobby). And now they give you free chips after you order. Plus, it must have been my luck, but the associates seemed friendlier too. Couple that with Free WIFI and I’d say that I’m starting to like this place a little more.
