Driving around hutto looking for something good to eat. Almost drove by this place, it actually looks more like a antique store from the outside. Glad I slowed down. Got the Texas Ruben with potato salad. Little spice to the sauce is what mead it Texas, I think. Limited menu, bit I went with the waitress recommendation. Pretty good. This place may be worth the stop when in the area.

I’ve been here twice for lunch and both times the food has been excellent. The waitstaff were professional but sweet, and it really felt like our party was being taken care of well. I’ve had the Texas Reuben, which is IMO the best reuben available in this area. The salad portions are huge for lunch, the potato salad is a must-have. It’s a nice place to rest your bones and have a tasty meal. I’m reserving my 5th star for the time I go there in the evening, which(from the outside) has looked busier.

Been here quite a bit and personally never had anything bad. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even order, I just tell them«surprise me». The owners are good folks and so is the staff. Never had a bad experience and don’t see one coming in the future as far as I’m concerned. I’ll continue to eat here a few days out of the week. Good stuff.

I’m all about visiting local eateries, especially in small town Hutto. I’m also into giving places more than one shot to prove themselves. I’ve eaten here twice and both times were sub par. Came in on a Monday afternoon and we were the only group in the restaurant. There was literally only one other man and he was at the bar. We waited for our food for 45 minutes and when it arrived, it was extremely subpar. 8.99 for some nachos that are half empty, half covered in cheese sauce, and with literally a tablespoon of chicken on it? Me thinks not. I could’ve gotten a comparable nacho at Taco Bell, if that’s any indication of how bad it was.

We went here after our kids baseball game because of the four stars, big mistake felt out of place with our kids and the food was really basic and boring, edible but not worth it. Our service was good tho

My first time here, and everything was great! It’s small, but in a cozy, ‘hang out with friends or significant other and relax’ kind of way. Service was excellent, everyone was friendly. We ventured over there after an erroneous post/review online talking about their burgers. They serve neither burger, nor fries. We got the hall of fame nachos with pulled pork, and they were AMAZING! Yes, all caps necessary! The chips were crispy and freshly made. There was nacho cheese and shredded cheese. We got the pulled pork, but you choose chicken or beef also. The pork was tender, the entire dish was fresh/hot, and large enough for two to share. Not to mention, it was Margarita Wednesday and they’re only $ 3.75! They have flavor add ins, including peach, which was delicious! For my first experience there, it was worth it(decent prices, $$)! We’ll definitely be back!(4 stars because we went during the day and the night experience could be totally different.)

Living in Pflugerville Hutto is so close, yet we hardly ever venture that direction. I decided to look up top 10 restaurants in Hutto and try one out. I chose this one, it was number 4 on the list. How it made it that high I don’t know. I got a frozen margarita with blue curacao, probably the worst margarita I’ve ever had. They were very slow, only 2 other people in the place. The food wasn’t all that great either. My kids ordered chicken wings, which only one of my children liked. Its hard to judge food from kids, I know. My picky eater is the one that liked them, the non picky one decided to eat my salad instead of the wings. I ordered the Rueben sandwich, which wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had, but by far not the best either. Really the only thing that was actually good from here was the service.

After having so many positive restaurant experiences in the Austin area, we were excited to try this out since we had a coupon and it got good reviews by Unilocal elites. I’m now having trust issues. After sitting down we decided to try two of the menu items indicated as «local favorites.» We got the chicken enchiladas and the jalapeño cream chicken. While the actual entrée part was decent, the sides that either came with it or we ordered were awful. The mashed potatoes served were bland, tasteless and made from a box. The Mac and cheese tasted like boxed plastic. We had to douse it in hot sauce just to eat it. We would have just not ate them, but the portion sizes were laughably small that we needed to eat it just to feel somewhat full. Service here was mediocre. I don’t blame the waitress though because she was the bartender and somehow was stuck taking care of a single two top so she was a little swamped. Overall a sports bar that’s serves your stereotypical mediocre bar food… And freaking boxed mashed potatoes!

We went on a Sunday during lunch. The waiter we had was super friendly and very accommodating to our toddler. We later found out he was the owner and has a 1.5 year old. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was amazing. We ordered chili Mac for our son. It was basically homemade mac and cheese with chili on top. It was delicious. Everything we had here was great and we will definitely return in the future.

I have been to the Hall of Fame many times and overall really enjoy the food and the atmosphere. It can be a little expensive and portions are on the small side which is not something I normally complain about. The chili Mac is ridiculous and I always send people to the Hall of Fame to order that specifically. When I go in to get a salad I always feel a little disappointed – same thing with the soup – very small portions. i’m really looking forward to them getting some burgers and I realize that there’s a delay because of an issue with proper kitchen equipment.

I really liked the Jalapeño Chicken eventhough it could have been a bit spicier for my taste.

This is a very comfy little diner/bar with a fireplace and live music. We popped in here for lunch. At first glance of the menu I wasn’t too impressed. American/Tex-Mex(ATM). Yawn. Yeah I like ATM, but, let’s be honest. It’s everywhere, and, yes good shit can be hard to find. I was having a hard time deciding on what I wanted. Thought about soup and salad, but, I was having soup for supper, so, scratch that. As I was checking out the wing options sidekick says«Look on the back. They have hot dogs.». I was like«Seriously?». At that time our lovely waitress Mandee comes over for our order. I asked how they cook their wieners and she said«I do believe in the oven.». I said«Ain’t nobody cooks wieners in the oven». She immediately told me that that is how she cooks them. Off to the kitchen for conformation she went. She comes back with a big smile on her face to confirm that she was right. They are indeed baked in the oven. I told her that my preference on wieners was boiled or steamed. She assured me that the baked version was delicious. Well, since I’ve never had them that way I just had to try. I ordered the classic. A big olé ¼lb beef frank baked in the oven then topped with onions, cheese, mustard, and, small amount of sauerkraut. Mandee chuckled and asked if I was German. I was like«uh no, I’m Irish». Dog comes out with kettle chips. The kettle chips were peppered and fried perfectly. Yumm. As for the wiener? I was very impressed! If you’ve had a steamed wiener then you know how it can get a crispy bite and be all juicy inside? This was that except a little more crispy. So juicy and flavorful. No nasty greasy flat top taste at all! YES!!! I found a damn good hot dog in Hutto, Tx!

Food was just ok. Portions pretty skimpy. Had a baked potato and had to pay extra for sour cream and butter. Too many other options, I’ll just go somewhere else.

We’ve been twice and the food has been just ok. Today’s experience is what prompted this review. We decided to give the Hall of Fame another try and we’re waiting out front for then to open. We saw a waitress(I presume) come outside, set up their sign and sit down to have a smoke, while leaving the doors unlocked. It was 10:59, so we asked if they were already open. Her response was, «Is it 11:00?» My husband’s response was, «About one minute til.» To which she replied, «Then we’ll be open in one minute.» She could have easily said the same thing in a polite way. Needless to say, we didn’t eat there. We went next door and were treated nicely rather than being made to feel like an inconvenience.

Great place to hang out, great drinks, often great live music — awesome owners(who are usually there taking good care of their customers) Good food is just an added bonus! Just an all around awesome neighborhood bar. Give them a try next time you’re in the area!

The family and I were headed to get some pie at the Texan Café and were sorely disappointed when it was closed. What to do? How about visiting the little place next door? We had a chopped beef spud, the chicken quesadilla, and the child’s hot dog plate. We also ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer. I really though that the appetizer was over priced. For $ 6 we got the equivalent of a cup of soup. It was good, but not worth the price we paid. The spud was good, albeit a little sweet. The quesadilla and the hot dog were really good. Service was pretty good and everyone was friendly. I’d go back. :)
