I visited Fresh Ketch on October 17, 2015 for lunch with as a party of 5. Three people in my party were visiting Cape Cod for the first time and they wanted to try the typical tourist foods(i.e. oysters, clams, chowder, etc.). The waitress was attentive, checking in on us twice before we placed our order(we were translating the menu to our visitors) but she failed to let us know they were out of oysters, steamers, crab cakes, and onion rings until we started ordering. She said that it was the restaurant’s last day of the season, which I completely understand but maybe she could have let us know before we spent 15 minutes looking at the menu?! Already hungry and tired, we decided to stay. We ordered the last two of their oysters, half a dozen little-neck clams, lobster bisque, seafood stew, lobster mac and cheese, and an order of fries. The seafood stew and lobster mac and cheese were delicious while the lobster bisque just didn’t taste quite right(maybe they were scraping the last of the pot?). I guess I should have known better than to visit a tourist trap at the end of their season.

Food was mediocre. I was expecting a chewy lobster but instead I got a over cooked, meat too soft lobster. On the plus side the staff was excellent, fast service, courteous manners earns them a four star instead of three.

Not great not bad… Just average food with high prices. Bathrooms were very dirty. Services was ok. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go there. Nothing special.

Overall, not that impressed with this place. We were seated in a corner where the AC was blasting directly on us, turning our dinner experience into an episode of Survivor: Antarctica. Sticking to that theme, 2 of us were brought cold soup, and undercooked vegetables(not even thoroughly cut). One upside to this is that the food was actually pretty good. However, considering the plates went for $ 18+ each, I would’ve expected these hiccups would be sorted out. I would consider giving this place a second chance, since the potential is there, and this may have possibly been an «off day» so-to-speak.

The name should be Frozen Ketch, my husband and I went over for ½ price appetizers, very run of the mill, and for a place that’s promoting seafood, the appetizers such as the scallops in bacon and spicy shrimp seemed like a frozen product, with all the seafood places in Hyannis, this is severely lacking

First I want to say I called in for reservations and they didn’t have them when I went to check in with the hostess, that should have been my first sign. They seated my party of 5 quickly the staff was pleasant and quick to take our orders. Two ordered steak, they were not very good cuts of meat but were done to order, the vegetables were over cooked and the mashed potatoes taste like boxed. My son said the chicken caesar salad was awesome! Another one ordered the crab cakes, I will have to say this these are the worst crab cakes I have ever run across! They were definitely frozen out of a box and mostly filler with peppers, total trash! The last was stuffed cod, horrible I also think this came out of a box from the grocery store! The waitress was definitely embarrassed by the food and was very surprised when we paid the full bill and tipped her generously with most of the food still on the table. So to finish this off I would say if you want a great Caesar salad and water go here but if you want anything else please don’t wast your time and money.

First evening and first time at the historical Hyannis, Massachussetts-BAD FIRSTIMPRESSION at this place. Let me start by saying that the place look nice overall, but once seated the experience changes totally. Hostesses at the entrance greet and seat didn’t get our drinks order or offer us water-NOT GOOD specially in hot days. Waitress finnaly came to the table and ask us for our drink orders, I’m from out of state and not Caucasian so I decided to try the Cape Cod Beer from their drink menu –I didn’t have my drivers license with me and the waitress decides to card me so I gave her my Consular ID that is the same as the passport, they refused to serve me drinks if I didn’t show my passport, okay that’s fine I didn’t have it on me and then when they card my girlfriend her drivers licence was fine so the waitress decides to ask her for her debit card… WHAT?! for what? My girlfriend and I were very polite and had no problem showing the incompetent waitress our debit card and our IDs… I didn’t know you had to show your ID and if you’re out of state you should show your debit card too. RIDICULOUS, I HOPETHISWAITRESSAPPLIESTHESAMERULETOEVERYCUSTOMERTHATASKSFORALCOHOL. Okay… my girlfriend gets a wine and I get water that’s fine, I didn’t mind if anything I saved some money. I was hungry so finally after getting our drinks our waitress dissappears and after painful 10 min waiting to order our food some lady who wasn’t wearing a uniform came to get our orders… –We ordered the salmon over rice with veggies and the half grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and zucchini… bad enough experience with the service the food was overcooked and lacked of seasoning we didn’t feel like looking for our waitress tp complaint since she seemed more worried about the 10 top party that she was taking care of and had us waiting to get drink refills, napkins and one to-go container. Instead the same lady who asked for our food order came and did all that. Finnaly asked for the check which took a very long while too. Please get this place together, the dinning experience is awful and it feels like I’m at a zoo cafeteria not a restaurant, get better staff that knows about hungry tourists not about the staffs friends and/or regulars they serve every week. Accommodate everyone’s needs. I also felt like the staff was profiling and that’s not okay with me, because you don’t judge by people’s etnich background. Thanks for the crappy service and awful first impression of Hyaniss restaurants on Main Street.

If you’re a pescatarian, this restaurant has plenty of options from which to choose. But for vegetarians, you’re limited to the following on the menu: Two options under their Vegetarian section, a kid’s grilled cheese and Mac&Cheese, pasta options that you could potentially order without meat, and appetizers(mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries, and fried pickles). Off the menu, there’s a secret vegetarian sandwich that isn’t mentioned anywhere but by word of mouth(zucchini with tomato and grilled onions, blue cheese, and balsamic glaze). But that’s if you’re not worried about cross contamination. Because everything is very likely fried together. The food is decent but no unique, memorable flavors. You’ll find yourself wishing for more pronounced ingredients, or an after spot to make up for the lack of it. Lucky for you, and me, there is a nice Ice Cream & Candy parlour next door. I didn’t get the nutrients and vitamins I needed, but at least I got what I wanted. The service here is solid, however. Two stars just for that.

Clam chowder some of the worst I have ever had… it is not suppose to have heat other than temperature. Minced clams and giant potatoes and overcooked onions. They also put in a thickening agent which made it like glue. Don’t try it… not Cape Cod!

This place has a pretty bad atmosphere, but that is what it is… the food, also terrible. The two appetizers we had med me very thankful that we only ordered appetizers. The buffalo wings which were actually chicken tenders with buffalo sauce tasted like someone ran to McDonalds a week ago, ordered chicken nuggets, froze them, then refried them and poured buffalo sauce over. The potato skins weren’t much better… I would stay away from this place, there are much better options in Hyannis…

The reviews of this place are a little harsh. That said, the atmosphere is more than slightly weird, with a cafeteria quality. I wouldn’t come here with a date, but for a family dinner it’s great. Food is fresh and tasty, service is great, restaurant is clean. Good fish and chips, great quahog as an app. A bit pricey for what it is, but that is where we are. All in all a good spot!

Went for lunch. Place was dead with a capital D. The décor is… depressing? Like an old cafeteria. If you’ve been following my reviews from the cape you will guess that I started with, what else, the clam chowder. It was so unmemorable I can hardly describe it here and it was mere hours ago that I ate it. Average. For my meal I had the fried seafood platter. It was good but it is hard to mess up fried food. The portion was large though I will give them that. My wife had the ribs. She said they were on par with ribs you would buy at the grocery store and prepare yourself. Service was friendly but not attentive especially considering we were the ones in there. For example, my drink ran out and I had to wait for the server to come by for a refill and she even passed by once to fill pepper shakers before asking about a refill.

Had dinner here. Tried their fruit de mers(frutti di mare). I keep forgetting I am in New England because this pasta dish was loaded with seafood! A bit tad overcooked for me but decent taste overall. Service was decent. If you feel lazy driving out of downtown Hyannis then this place can be an option for dinner.

Came from NYC with my family & we had a dog(Maltese). Therefore we decided to do take out instead of sitting out because mosquitoes loves me & I wanted to be indoors. Anyways long story short it was a fantastic meal, i loved about everything except the oyster which seems to be small. Our total came to be $ 133. Definitely would come back if I do go cape cod again. Cape Cod National Seashore was the best part of the trip before this meal. I saw people bbq-ing on the sand and there were sharks late at night. Since it was getting dark and we are foreign to this area we left before it turned dark. The beach was beautiful but there’s no service on our phone.

One meal here and I can understand both the good and bad reviews. What looks like a pretty nice restaurant from the street devolves into a dated, linoleum floored, sparse interior. This place has nothing going on from a décor standpoint. The Fired Calamari appetizer is happening however. Tell them to leave the dipping sauce in the kitchen and toss on some more peppers. The squid is lightly breaded and fried crispy. I did find one stringy tentacle but I challenge you to find better for $ 9. The Swordfish was excellently marinated and perfectly done. Flaky and moist, you’ll be tempted to lick the griddle. A job well done. A two star interior with a 3.5 star food would give 2.75 stars. But we’ll throw the other 0.25 if a star in to accentuate the calamari. That’s a dish you won’t regret.
