Having been here many times and mostly finding to be pretty good… The last two times have been horrible. Yesterday the food was not good and my wife’s meal came out 15 minutes after my burger was served. The excuse, they burned the first one because the cook left for lunch. No apology, no offer to remove from our check. Did not care. Really not worth it anymore… Have to find a new spot when we go to Hyannis.

Happened upon this place and was delightfully surprised. Off the beaten path. Curried chicken and pomme frites were great as well as the pickled vegetables side.

A must stop in and smell the wonderful aromas… lose yourself in the process of choosing from a tantalizing menu of authentic European treats. Excellent coffee, bread, tarts, muffins… don’t miss this gem. Oh, the monkey bread!

The only game in town and they know it. Bring lots of money. Two croissants and a coffee. More than ten bucks. Seriously. Ok croissants, but not all-butter and this isn’t Paris.

This place was an excellent surprise! Lunch, breakfast and especially dinner are all unique and special menus. Great beer selection, mainly bottles, but they do have some drafts. And the wine list is impressive too! Great vibe and aesthetic and the staff/service has been great on my 3 – 4 visits. Go soon! Enjoy!

Fantastic dinner out without the kids. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Definitely a local gem and can’t wait to come back again. Wobbly table, noise and Caesar salad dressing being a little overpowering was the reason for the less than perfect. But still very satisfied and love this place!

Great breakfast spot by the Barnstable airport. The wait line to order was some what long about a 10 minute wait. Order bacon and eggs, they were cooked perfectly also order a baguette for the road. I love bread! Parking is very limited, small lot which fits about 8 cars. Service was ok but the cleaning staff needs to step up their game! There were empty plates outside on the patio that was sitting there when we came and when we left. I don’t think they have a cleaning staff. It was also a nice day and everyone wanted to sit outside.

Excellent everything. So nice to find this type of food on Cape now, it’s like visiting Paris all over again and everything here is excellent whether you’re here for lunch or dinner, or just drinks and knoshing that’s not pub fare. The toughest part is finding parking and their location isn’t great.

Service– Okay, our waitress did not speak English so it was a little difficult to understand her. She was nice though! Food– Lobster risotto bites were okay, not great. But anything deep fried is relatively tasty… :) Tuna tar tar– nom nom. I enjoyed this :). Decent portion. Bread was AMAZING. We were planning on having dinner but the couple next to us made us VERY uncomfortable with their intense staring to a point where we decided it would be better to leave. We were given a loaf of bread when we left so I’m assuming someone figured out that we were having an issue. Nice atmosphere and overall the food was good. It’s too bad there were weirdos around.

I would have never thought Cape Cod would be the place where I satisfied my craving for Foie Gras… Or other European delicatessen. Pain d’Avignon is the place for the«Je practique mon Français» Mass locals that want to spoil their taste buds, while they forget which country they are in… And although this place is as French as America can embrace, they serve delicious food specific to other countries as well — like Spanish octopus… You must try their smaller plates too — the parfait(best one I’ve ever had), the cranberry pecan roll, the espresso hazelnut cake. So — since you’re in cape cod, and you kind of already embraced the idea that you’re going to exceed your budget, try this place out.

Best breakfast I ate in Cape Cod. I was skeptical about their location but was beyond satisfied with their selection and taste! It wasn’t a standard eggs, potatoes, and toast type of thing. Coffee was delicious. Staff super friendly and attentive

The food at Pain D’Avignon is excellent. The chocolate croissants are first class, and the breakfast offerings at the best in town. The coffee and beverage options are good too. So why the 3 stars? They don’t have any high chairs. Instead of enjoying our breakfast, my wife and I had to take turns holding our toddler. We eat out a lot, all over the country, and this was the first time in 18 months of having a kid that I’ve been to place that didn’t have a single highchair. We are not talking about a nightclub here, its a brunch place, in a beach town, where families go to vacation.

Within a 2 minute walk from the Barnstable Regional airport on the Cape is a delightful little French restaurant and bakery. I had the Croque Madam breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. I Too bad more regional airports I traveled to don’t have a delightful haven like this to pass time before a flight.

This is a very nice French bakery/café place near the shore of Cape Cod, the food was so good, even a yogurt was one of its kind, I doubt I could enjoy something near that level in NYC, it’s definitely a secret jewel. I had brunch there picking up a few sweets and a salad, it’s impressive. If you stay around the area, even if you don’t eat there you should pick up a few pastries to go. Edited: Please let me know what the piece of pastry on the top right is called! I’ve been craving for 6 months since I left Hyannis.

WOW! Can’t believe I haven’t been here in all my years on cape cod. Beautiful little café in the center of hyannis to stop for a quick, reasonably priced lunch with gourmet flavors. There is the option to order at the counter and sit or have a waitress. We chose to order and seat ourselves thinking it would be quicker, which it seemed to be. The French onion soup was the best I have ever had and the curried chicken salad on the homemade croissant was truly delicious. We also tried the roast beef sandwich which was on a nice, also homemade crispy bread, but we were disappointed by how well done the roast beef was. Rather than a pink medium rare, it was cooked closer to well done. For the 2 sandwiches and 1 soup, we spent $ 30 which seemed to be well priced for the quality.

After coming off my flight from the airport, which is right across the street, I was starving. This was the only nearby place to grab a bite, so I popped in. The ambiance is very nice, it feels like a petite little market in France. Bagels and breads everywhere, and local food from the Cape Cod region. The line was not long, it was small, but still a bit busy. I went around lunch time. The person who took my order was the nicest, cheeriest person I’ve met the whole trip to Cape Cod. She always smiled, had a nice upbeat, positive attitude. I ordered pomme frites and the Falafel salad. Falafel salad was okay, not the greatest thing ever. Pomme frites were okay, not as great as the ones I’ve had in NYC or in Montréal. And the prices, expensive as heck! If I knew it was going to be this expensive, I would’ve walked down to the Wendy’s down the block, or go to Trader Joe’s nearby. Place is nice, person at register is nice, but it’s not nice on the wallet and the food was not«OMG» orgasmic food, it was okay, so this place gets 3 stars. For the atmosphere and vibe, friendly service, and availability and options. But that price, OOHGURL!

I’ve visited Pain D’Avignon many times with friends who require scones on Saturday mornings, and this was my first visit for dinner. My only disappointment is that I wish I had come sooner. The mussels were outstanding and perfectly cooked. I could have used a straw to sip the leftover broth, but resorted to using bread instead. My roasted chicken dish was absolutely perfect: so moist with thin crispy skin. And, the kitchen was flexible in substituting the potato purée for the spring pea and herb risotto. Other dishes my group ordered were the pan seared sea scallops, braised short ribs, and octopus appetizer. Service was also fantastic! Thanks to James who was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions for food as well as for wine selections. A great night was had –will definitely be back again this summer!

I asked some locals in Hyannis where I should go for lunch, and every one of them mentioned this place instantly. They were not wrong. As I was driving up the airport road to the restaurant, I couldn’t believe that such a nice place was hidden on this industrial road. As soon as I entered, I was completely charmed by the beautiful rustic French bistro atmosphere and impressed with the fresh made loaves of all types that were available. I chose the French Onion Soup for my lunch, and I am so glad that I did. It was delicious. The presentation itself was so gorgeous with the baked cheese oozing over the side of an iron pot filled with onion soup goodness. It is among the top 3 French onion soups I’ve ever experienced anywhere, including France. The sandwiches on fresh bread also looked wonderful, so I’ll have the next time. This is definitely an experience I want to repeat when I’m in town.
