Don’t let the name fool you. There are not enough Irish beers on tap, the food, sub par. Go to the BBC if you want a good draught selection. At about 10pm, the front bar turns into a hip hop grindfest. Gross.

Aweful place that touts themselves as an Irish Pub. The Guniness is not served in true pints but smaller glasses.

We went off season, in December, for dinner. My wife ordered a Rueben and I ordered a fish sandwich. The Rueben was very good and my sandwich was better than normal. The kids ordered mac and cheese and it was outstanding. Chowder was very very good. Food was a bit slow coming out but they compensated by giving the kids a free appetizer of chicken tenders.

My boyfriend and I went here last Friday and were incredibly disappointed. We were lured here by a groupon. Just about every seafood option on the menu was«out of season» and therefore not available. My boyfriend ordered a whiskey sour that was all sour – it was undrinkable. We ordered the only 2 seafood items available: shrimp cocktail and baked tilapia and a caesar salad. The shrimp cocktail was served warm – not cold, not room temperature – warm as if it has just came out of a microwave. The waitress was aware of the fact that we do not eat meat, poultry or pork but yet served us a caesar salad with bacon on it. The tilapia was mush-obviously frozen and thawed in a hurry. Our experience was so bad that I will not only NEVER visit this Tommy Doyle’s but ANY Tommy Doyle’s.

Lets just say I should have read the reviews first. I thought there was another well reviewed place nearby but when I couldn’t find it I ended up here. As soon as I sat down for an early lunch I asked the bartender for a coffee. He told me «as a human I can’t let you drink it. it will go right through you and is crap». I was surprised by this but got soda instead. Ordered a burger which bartender approved of. The burger took almost 30 minutes, really? While i was waiting i heard the bartender giving the waitress an attitude for ringing in something wrong, unprofessional. When I finally got the burger it was well done rather than medium but I didn’t want to wait any longer so I ate it. It was ok but the bartender didn’t give me any napkins or utensils so I had to ask. Overall a mediocre place and not a nice environment.

Cool joint to grab a pint! Got a little loud as the night went on but it was fine. This place looks small on the outside… but it is GIGANTIC inside, pool tables too. Only con is the rest rooms are downstairs. Did not eat here, just had a bunch of barley burgers! ;)

This place is TERRIBLE. Wish we had read reviews first. In short: This is a BAR not a restaurant. The night’s event was cancelled, it was cold, no music, quiet and uncomfortable. Bathrooms were disgusting. Orders were screwed up. Food was just bad. Service was a joke. Details: Service was awful. Waiter, doubling as the bartender knew NOTHING about the food or how to wait tables. 3 out of 4 of us ordered beers, 2 of us got beers and the waiter forgot about the third. After we found him, we reminded him, but even after that, he walked by us again and remembered he was supposed to be getting that 3rd drink. Ordering was a joke. Waiter took our orders while constantly erasing and rewriting on his pad. 2 veggie burgers with fries, 2 portabella burgers with sweet potato fries. A minute later, «sorry, we have no sweet potato fries». 5 minutes later…“sorry, we have no portabella mushrooms either”. He recommended the Turkey Burger because«A lot of people get it». 20 minutes later, the food comes. Order with fries came with NO fries, but with mashed potatoes instead. A veggie burger with sauteed onions and mushrooms came with nothing but a small pile of what looked like burned and greasy onion strands. Another order with NO mayo requested, came with mayo. We brought this to his attention. 10 minutes later he returned with some fries. He FAILED to return with the onions and mushrooms that were to be included(for an addition charge). It was getting so ridiculous, we didn’t bother. 20 minutes later, the turkey burger with no mayo came. Everyone else was done eating. The food was bad. Veggie burger is just fried unidentified potato/grits/pureed vegetables? The turkey burger is definitely something from a frozen food section of a 7⁄11. The fries were standard bar/frozen fries. Mashed potatoes were… mashed up potatoes, with skins, thick and flavorless. That’s it. The Tommy Doyle’s house beer is flat and terrible. STAYAWAY. There are far better choice within WALKING distance.

Couldn’t find anything else open and stopped in. We were the only people there but others arrived soon after and the service has been abysmal. They are understaffed but still. Been here an hour and still no food. Should have left before we ordered. Update: Food arrived. The kids chicken fingers and fries were good, as were the sweet potato fries. The wrap and reuben were not good. At all. Never again.

Maybe I went there on a bad day. On the plus side, the chicken wings were very good. On the negative: the service was poor, and the cabbage tasted like vinegar. The food and drinks took forever to arrive. There were less than a dozen people there, and most had eaten before we sat down.

I wish that I actually looked at the reviews on Unilocal before heading to this place with my wife. It was terrible. It was a nice day, so we decided to eat outside for lunch. Was about 10 people total there and one waitress to deal with them all. Service was spotty. The BBQ wings came out and I was expecting them to be tossed in the sauce like you would get at any other place. No, they were dry and came with a little cup of BBQ sauce for the full order of wings. Got a lobster roll sandwich and it was really overpriced and not very good. It was OVERLY dressed with mayo and it had a weird pinkish hue. There were no big chunks of lobster and that bothered me due to them charging ‘market price’ for it. When we got the check, the lobster roll was not there, but a steak dish. It took awhile to get the server back over to discuss, but she said it was the same price as the lobster roll. Would make sense if she said that when bringing the bill so we don’t think they screwed something up. Terrible food and experience in my eyes. Not worth visiting this place.

The food wasn’t bad. The trouble began when we got the check. Our cute Irish waitress accidentally charged us full price for the two specials we ordered. We didn’t notice until we were leaving and brought it to the attention of the bar tender since our waitress was busy. She was extremely patronizing and told us it was our fault for not alerting the waitress to the fact that what we ordered was the daily special. She told us not to make that mistake next time. Luckily, there won’t be a next time.

Cozy, unpretentious barroom and very average on all counts. The food was good. I had a turkey burger that was very good, moist and perfectly cooked but the clam chowder took forever to come out and was room temp. It actually tasted good but not as good when hot as it should be. Service was friendly but slow(disappeared often) and this was at noon in July and we were the only patrons which I thought odd.

This is really too bad. Tommy Doyle’s started off when it opened as a pretty good place to get fairly authentic Irish food. Bangers and Mash, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Stew were all quite good. You could get a properly poured Guinness, then something changed. Not sure what exactly. Went back recently. The menu was all different, fewer if any real Irish food choices, got my Guinness back 2 seconds after I ordered it. Anyone that knows anything about pouring Guinness knows that’s wrong. The food was awful. Small portions and cold. I got the Shepard’s Pie. My wife tried the Corned Beef that was ice cold. I think the management wants to be a «20’s something» Bar, not a true Irish Pub. If you want to be a Pub, be a Pub. If you want to be an authentic Irish eating establishment, you need to take a trip«across the pond». Good luck.

It would seem that the place is under new management and trying to get back to its days of glory. The new manager, Shawn(sp?) is always out and engaging patrons. I came in a tried the burger and beer special. The burger was outstanding, made with all the fixings… Great beer selection, clean and friendly staff. This place likes its regulars but appreciates all! Glad to see the changes and I’m sure it will pay off. Looking forward to St. Patrick’s Day there!

After spending way too long on a bus to Hyannis from Boston my friends and I were hungry! I got the turkey burger which was really good. Turkey burgers can really be hit or miss– they can come out dry and flavorless, but this was not the case for this one. It had provolone cheese and a chipotle sauce on it. I also liked that it was on ciabatta roll so the bread stood up to the burger which was a good size. The burger came with steak fries and they were crispy. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating and so it made for a nice experience. This place is a nice pub that while isn’t as fancy as some of the other restaurants on Main Street, the food was good and the service was awesome.

Unfortunately I was forced to give Tommy D’s 1 star. Hopefully this review helps you avoid this place. I have been going to Hyannis for years to celebrate America’s Birthday. There are really only three bars to go to; Trader Ed’s, BBC and Tommy Doyle’s. In setting this up I had been at Tommy Doyle’s two nights before, paid a cover, and got in. We had a pretty decent time. We decided to go back the night of July 4 and all took separate cabs, mine being the last to show up. As the first person up in line I hand my DCID to the bouncer who looks like pint size version of Mr. Clean with glasses who was probably thinking about how many squat thrusts he was going to do at the gym the next day. He looks it over for 40 seconds, bending it, flipping it over, and picking at it. Come on guy, don’t ruin my ID in the process. I’m 26, but look like I am much younger, but I look exactly the same in my picture since it is only a few months old. The bouncer then asks me if I have everything else and I proceed to produce a Debit Card and Credit Card with my name and signature that match my ID as well as my AAA Card with my name and my BlueCrossBlueShield medical card. He just looks at them in my hand goes, «I don’t like it». Really? It took you that long after asking for other identification that you didn’t even look at to decide that. Thanks. I tried to reason with him because all my friends are in the bar asking him to scan it because I am well over 21 which he said they don’t have a scanner. All I wanted to do was spend money at your bar on overpriced drinks and listen to the terrible reggae band from two nights before, why is that so hard. His only answer was, «I just don’t like it». Finally I just asked to speak with the manager. What a baby gorilla this guy was that lumbered out. Looked like he shouldn’t even be allowed in the bar and was out past his bedtime. After asking him to look over my ID or scan it he said, «No, if my guy here doesn’t like it then I don’t like it.» At this point I pulled out all I had left. My friends earlier that day had met some girls at the beach who they invited out, but were not 21 so they were using fake IDs. After I explained this to them their only answer was, «We liked theirs, not yours.» It didn’t take too much after that. As soon as everyone got word that I wasn’t allowed in they immediately left, and apparently there was no one inside anyway and came to BBC and we had a much better night. My advice is DONOT go to Tommy Doyle’s if you want to have a good time because you probably won’t get in. If you have a MAID and want to take a gamble go ahead, but if you have an out of state ID just go to BBC until they get a scanner.

My family and I were looking for a nice pub that had a decent burger. We went to Tommy Doyle’s and our quest was not fulfilled. First let me say the service was very good. A young waitress that looked off the boat from Shannon served us. Very nice. Now the food. We ordered burgers. They tasted that were not cooked fresh(just heated up) they were burnt on the outside. It seemed that they ran out of tomatoes(?). The cheese and bacon on my burger were hardly visible. You would think burgers would be easy. But not here.

I’ll give anyone 5 Stars if they have a Full Bagpipe Refalia on hand! Thats right, was there on 2⁄17 to meet some local Techi’s and too my surprise an entire room full of bagpipes and drums! They were awesome! I can’t comment on the food, although I do here it is pretty good and the prices aren’t bad, but the entertainment was fantastic! I hope to see them hosting an evening like that again sometime soon, I’ll be the first one there if so.

I had fun until they kicked me out for dancing. Yes, dancing. And I danced my ass out of the doors. Suggestion: Save some money by hooking up an iPod to some speakers. You don’t need a live DJ if your bodyguards are going to act like chaperones at a middle school dance.
