The Inside Scoop is under new ownership and is now the Inside Scoop Café. They want to be a place you can come for a meal as well as ice cream. From what I’ve seen so far, these changes are very welcome. The inside is more brightly lit, and there are new tables. They have a combination of booths, tables for 4, and bistro tables, and lit ceiling fans over the tables. Outside tables are available too. The sign outside advertises some type of lunch or dinner special almost every day. I decided to try a burger for dinner($ 4.95)(the sign outside the other day said sirloin, but the sign inside said angus). It was cooked to order and came with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Several choices of sides are available. Fries at $ 1.25 are a good deal and a large amount — could have been slightly crisper but still quite good. Other entrée choices include wraps, salads, and sandwiches. Appetizers included things like chicken tenders, clam strips, and spring rolls. The ice cream menu looks about the same. A single scoop is still a bit over $ 3(compare that to my other favorite, Holy Cow, at less than $ 2), but additional scoops are not much more, so a triple winds up being a good deal. The new Inside Scoop is off to a good start!

The Inside Scoop is a locally owned and operated ice cream shop & restaurant, located along Route 9G in Hyde Park. They offer a good variety of homemade hard ice cream flavors, soft serve, shakes, cones, waffle cones, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes, and novelty frozen treats/bars. Regular food is also served here including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, Philly cheese steaks, chicken wings, tenders, nachos, salads, mozzarella sticks, fries, and rings. Pepsi products and Green Mountain Coffee is served here. The atmosphere inside is very casual and welcoming(order at the counter) with an indoor seating area with plenty of colorful party favors on the walls. Several party packages for kids are available and there’s also a neat little playground area next to the building. I stopped in at The Inside Scoop recently for ice cream on a brisk summer night around 8:45PM. I was happy to see that they offered kiddie size ice cream cones & cups, which was just the right size cold dessert, especially after enjoying a big dinner in Poughkeepsie. I decided on the Banana Ice Cream($ 2.10 plus tax-kiddie size cup) which was very good for a sugar free flavor. The ice cream had a bold natural sweet banana flavor, with a smooth and creamy texture and not rich, very cold and refreshing. The service was very prompt and I had my «kiddie sized» ice cream fix in no time! FACEBOOK:
