This Stewart’s is a good alternative for«convenience» types of grocery items, especially considering your nearest alternative is the(not so) Super Stop & Shop up the road. To this I would add breakfast sandwiches and coffee, and of course the dairy products. This Stewart’s sells gas, and it is always competitive with the nearest station, the Hess up the road.(I can’t make a good comparison versus Stop & Shop gas, because I consider their«buy stuff to get gas discounts» a rip-off, actually.) Also similar to the nearby Hess, they have free air here, and their air hose has a better pressure gauge(compared to NONE on the Hess machine) and is out of order less often.

HUmm… I’m near my college and the tank in my big red truck is hungry. Which gas station in my vicinity should I choose to quench Clifford’s petrol deprivation? Mobil? Taking into consideration the quality of gasoline(why does my tank seem to empty faster from the other places?) and superior company branding this would be the preferable choice, BUT only when I have a little extra cash to spend. So that leaves me with either Hess or Stewarts. Well it would all depend on which gas station is less expensive during any given day. I do prefer Stewarts over Hess because of the convenience store aspect, but particularly when gas prices soar I transform into Little Miss Frugal even when there is just a penny difference in the price per gallon. The best reason to go to Stewarts though is for their icecream. Any Southern California native would understand the desperateness that occurs when trying to track down Thirfty Icecream or at least a suitable counterpart(considering the fact that none of NY’s Rite Aids carry Thrifty Icecream… why? it is sooooo good~you would make millions, millions!) which was the predicament I found myself in during my college years at CIA. Quality icecream without all the fuss at a cheap price… I happily found a fulfillment to this culinary quest at Stewarts. There are plenty of flavors of icecream to choose from often leaving you asking the shop attendant for that little, white spoon that scoops up tasty samples you never plan on ordering in the first place. You can purchase a cup, cone, shake/malt, or carton to eat there or take with you to go. Personally I’m a Butter Pecan or Rocky Road girl, but Stewarts is sure to have a flavor that can satisfy any palette. Not to mention candy, chips, drinks and practically any other convenience item you would need. So if Stewarts wins the gas price war for the day~ why not treat yourself to a cone while you fill up your tank? You deserve it, you definitely deserve it.
