Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

The food (hamburger and fries) are good, however, for the price, the portions are so very tiny. It barely fills you up. But it was delicious.

My very first visit will be my last visit as I really do not ever see going back at this time. I am always open to give a new place an opportunity but this one I wished I hadn’t. Upon pulling up to the drive thru we look over the menu and I ask a single question.
What number on the menu would be the smallest burger? I get a question back, what? I ask again politely, what is your smallest burger you offer? The response, what number would you like? I rephrase the question and ask slowly to assist the person on the speaker, I would like to know what burger is the smallest burger so I can order it. I get a 5 min pause and over hear the person asking others inside and a supervisor, what burger is the smallest and I find out nobody can answer this simple question.
I find this surprising as these employees work at this establishment and they really do not know the menu and that makes me wonder if the employees even eat at the place they work.
After this long period of time and sitting at the speaker at the drive thru in which I looked at the clock I have been there almost 12 mins! But wait and behold I get the worst response back after this much time which was, what burger would you like?
This is embarrassing as they did not realize I had overheard them trying to figure out this mystery question of what is the smallest burger on the menu is.
At this point I realized if I were to ask the question again this is the type of place that they may spit on burger and serve it and I was not going to risk this possibility or any more time at this place as it had been over 15 mins. Which I had to laugh as this place had no customers inside and no one was behind me so it seems the locals in the area must know that this place is horrible. At this time I decided to leave and not risk my health.

Yum! I had never heard of Freddy’s before this one came to Idaho falls. All I can say is I am pleasantly surprised. The sirloin burgers are so good! Full of flavor. I love the show string fries. I definitely would rather go to Freddy’s for a burger than most fast food joints in town. The one thing that puts them at the top in my book, is the frozen custard. I love frozen custard, it’s so much more smooth and creamy than regular ice cream. My family loves going to Freddy’s for a family treat.

Overall a very good visit. Friendly staff who were attentive. Walked in at about 9 pm and some of the food prep equipment was already taken down, but I’m okay with that. It was very clean. Greeted promptly. The closing hour is 10 so they were busy cleaning up. I have been to a Freddy’s previously but hadn’t realized it was such a veteran-​friendly establishment! Way cool! Gave us extra fries. We are stuffed!

The burgers are great, and the shoestring were perfect. The custard was very tasty too.

Tasty custard. Haven’t tried the food yet. But the custard is good. Concretes could be mixed better. Sundaes are also tasty.

My boyfriend and I love this place! He is deathly allergic to all tree nuts. When we ordered our custard he asked if there was any nuts because of his allergy. When it came time to make them, as we got the custard on hold while we ate our burgers. It took a little longer for them to be made. They brought them to us and told us they pulled out all new ingredients and sanitized the entire kitchen to make sure they were no contaminants. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to everyone!

Took us ten min just to order. then there was no place to sit down so we had to stand. Then it took us another 10 min to get our food which we had to go eat in the car. Fries where shoe string potatoes so they where kinda hard to dip into the fry sauce. the burger was really thin the two patties i had on the bun where the size of a regular burger at a different restaurant. overall i didn’t like the place and wont go back.

We absolutely love this place! Everyone is incredibly friendly, the food is amazing and so delicious! They’ve gotten the order wrong a time or two but always make it right and offer a free meal for next time! We go about once a week! Exellent customer service is hard to come by these days but Freddy’s has it perfected!

They will always have our business because of their outstanding customer service. We have been 2 times before tonight, both times we had delicious food. It was a bit busy but honestly that’s not a bad thing… I would say it’s kind of a mix of in n out and Steak ‘n Shake (in the south). I love both places. So why is today so outstanding? Well the cashier messed up my plain cheese steak burger order. Came with everything on it. No big deal, just went to the counter and told them the mix up. They told me to KEEP the wrong order (I won’t eat it but my husband will) and that alone impressed me. That’s what we did at Texas Roadhouse… That’s great customer service. So they bring out the fixed order and apologize again and bring a box for the mixed up burger as well. We started digging in and about halfway through, the GM (I’m assuming, he’s always there…) came up and apologized and made sure the second one was made correctly. After this, he gave us two free meal cards. We tried to decline because honestly we would’ve been fine just with a replacement burger, we didn’t even need the extra one! «It’s my policy» he says, and I was just wowed. The customer service is on par with actual RESTAURANTS, if not even better. They will never lose us as customers because of what a great experience they made it for us :) all in all, delicious food, Mountain Dew, and fry sauce. Is there more you need? Nay, I say… NAY!

I love Freddy’s! If you want a burger then it should be on your short list. I love the original double. The fries are delicious as well. Give the custard a shot as well.
The only down side that I found was their chicken sandwich. I found it to be a little bland.

Never been to a Freddy’s until this one In Idaho falls opened. Not too shabby. Burgers aren’t bad but I’d definitely get a double or triple. Not really a fan of the chicago hotdog. Too much on the dog so my dog wouldn’t stay in the bun. The fries I will say are growing on me. The first time I had them I wasn’t so sure about how skinny they are. I’m a fry ADDICT and love my thick fresh cut fries! However, like I said, they are growing on me. This time when I went the fries were soooooooooo salty. I mentioned it to the guy calling out orders and the next thing I know the manager is bringing us fresh fries and apologizing. They definitely care about the quality! He also came back before we left to give us a coupon for next time. Definitely corrected and made up for the waaay salty fries! We will be back! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because there are other burgers and fries I would choose first. They aren’t my #1 but pretty good.

There is nothing this California born chica loves more than a good cheeseburger. There are some good places here in Idaho Falls that I like to go to for burgers and now Freddy’s is one of them. the meat tastes so fresh. you can tell it’s not frozen. And speaking of frozen, you absolutely must save room for some frozen custard. And YES it is BETTER… Much BETTER than ice cream.

Finally was able to go to Freddy’s today. I’d say wait till the excitement dies down. I ordered the sticks steakburger California style in a combo. I’d have to say the fries were real weird. Smallest skinniest little things ever. I’d say I’d skip those next time. And then my burger only came with onions on it. Just meat, cheese, onion, bun. Totally missed my lettuce and tomatoes. They were incredibly busy, so my verdict is to wait another month, and give it another try.

Burgers are awesome. They are thin and delicious. Make sure to get the double or triple. They even have fry sauce here! My wife and I really enjoy the concrete shakes, we are addicted! Highly recommend this establishment

The custard was ok but the burgers were horrible. My burger looked like a burnt lace doily, if you sliced the doily in half. Very disappointed. For the price we could have gotten a real burger at a sit down restaurant.

The burgers here are incredible! Fries were skinny and crunchy, love em! For serious chocolate lovers a straight up chocolate ice cream will make you so happy. Definitely coming back for dinner every time we are in the area.

This place is inundated with everyone in town trying it out. We’ve tried to go twice now but the line inside and out was too long. Finally went this evening! I ordered the single steakburger with cheese, added grilled onions. Side of fries and I subbed my drink for a sundae. My sundae was vanilla custard with strawberries and peanuts. It was ok, the vanilla was a bit bland. The hubs ordered a peanut butter cup concrete and said it was great. Bottom line: typical burgers, the fries are too skinny, but the custard is really good.

The food here is great highly recommend the patty melt and onion rings! If you love Ice Cream you are really going to Love the frozen custard!!! The atmosphere is great as well!
