Jakers is probably my favorite restaurant in Idaho Falls, ID. They have the best salad bar in town and if you like lobster bisque, you will absolutely love theirs, it really is the best. The food was amazing and I can not wait to go back. I would eat the exact same thing all over again(but I won’t because everything is so good, so I have to try it all), it was so good. Our appetizer was perfect, it was chicken and it tasted so great, was presented wonderfully and was hot and tasty. My entrée tasted great, I ordered the garlic shrimp and steak. My steak was amazing, the garlic sauce really made it so good. I really liked the appetizer, the scones, and my entrée. The scones and butter are absolutely delightful, they taste like buttery yummy goodness. But I will warn you, after the scones and lobster bisque, you better save room because you will want to eat every last bit of your entrée and of course one of their delicious desserts. Come hungry and you will not be disappointed!

I got the French Dip with the Steak Bits. The meat was seasoned perfectly and it hit the spot. I will definitely be back.

The food is good but the service tonight is awful. They told me my to go order would be done at 6:20 and it is now 6:50 and I am still waiting. It is very frustrating to wait and feel like they don’t care about letting you know what is going on. Very disappointed tonight at Jakers.

Clearly the best salad bar in Idaho Falls; not even close. A bit pretentious with serving staff intent on selling and up-selling. Very nice lighting and ambiance. Best for those on per-diem not for families or working stiffs.

I ordered the prime rib and it was soooo good. What really got me was the rolls. I loved them! so soft and so warm and perfect. My husband ordered the Kobe beef which had incredible flavor. We really enjoyed our meals, but we somehow don’t feel like we have to come back again and again. It’s not something i look back on and drool over… that’s why i’ll stick to 4 stars.

So, we came to Jaker’s for Christmas Eve, and with two vegetarians in the group, we were a little hesitant! However, it ended up being a perfect meal with the perfect server(I cannot remember her name, but she is from Bulgaria). Anyways, the restaurant had a special buffet and a limited menu, none of which contained vegetarian options! However, our server worked out a way with the kitchen to make an exception so I could get items off the vegetarian menu! In fact, she worked hard the entire evening to make our experience perfect! For example, my sister ended up getting the buffet, and several of the salads had bacon in them. So, she asked the kitchen to make extra salads specially for my sister without the meat. This kind of service continued through the entire meal! She was wonderful! And, I highly recommend the jalapeño Mac & Cheese and lobster bisque for meat eaters. For those thinking of getting a buffet on a future holiday, this one had turkey, ham, prime rib, mashed potatoes, corn, yams, a salad bar, and several pre-made salads, with pumpkin pie for dessert.

It’s hard to go wrong here. Everything is good, seriously! The halibut is fresh and cooked perfectly. Be sure to try the bleu cheese crumble salad and enjoy a jakers 9oz pour of wine. Randi was my server and she’s great!

I travel to Idaho Falls often for work and always look forward to eating at Jaker’s. Everything I’ve ordered has been phenomenal. Their cedar plank salmon is my favorite! Their salads and steaks are amazing too.

Great steak and a very friendly staff. I went with my wife and two kids and they took great care of us to make sure we were all fed and happy. I will be coming back on my next trip in the area.

Excellent food, it was cooked and flavored perfectly with incredible service. Aja our server went way beyond to assist us with our two toddlers, she created a miracle. She helped us have an enjoyable meal for once. Will definitely go again whenever we can.

Ate here again in early October. Sat in the regular restaurant area. Prime rib was the BEST I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth perfect. Everything else was great as well. Server was very good and a vast improvement over the last visit The only thing that kept this from 5 stars was that our main entrees arrived and we weren’t quite through with salads. I also let her know that we were happy that we weren’t asked about dessert in the middle of our dinner. Much better experience this time around and it made my wife’s birthday that much more pleasant!

Skip the ‘Dragon Tails’. While they sound good on the menu, the flavor is weak and the chicken is dry and over cooked. Don’t miss the absolutely perfect waffle fries though.

I was on my way to visit Yellowstone and stopped at Jakers to have dinner. I loved the food. I ordered the ribeye steak and it was absolutely delicious. The server, Lindsey, was friendly but yet very professional and she was so pleasant to speak with. Jakers was an awesome experience and I will definitely come back in the future when I visit Idaho Falls again.

Good fries but the food was so-so for someone like me who doesn’t eat like slabs of steak. They do give you mounds of food. At least 2 of me could have had the thai noodle salad I ordered. Don’t order the thai noodle salad folks. The noodles were super bland and almost tasteless. The steak slices were tasty though.

Just awesome. Stopped in on our way to Yellowstone. Kids had kids steaks which were prime sirloin cooked perfectly. I had the Kobe sirloin house special, wife had the prime rib. Both steaks were of high quality and done just how we asked. My Kobe was reverse seared and had tons of flavor. The waitress(Celeste) was on the ball with the drinks and very professional. We are already talking about hitting this place up for lunch on our way back from Yellowstone.

We went to Jakers for our first anniversary. Our server was Trisha and she was really kind and attentive. Our drinks were never empty and she checked on us a lot, which we really appreciated. I had the prime rib French dip. I will have dreams about this sandwich-the meat was so tender and it was absolutely perfect. For dessert I had the crème brûlée which was amazing as well. It was creamy with the perfect crisp top. Oh and I had the lemonade-yum! I really love homemade lemonade so I am leery to order because most restaurants serve it from the fountain which is pretty much sugar water. Not at Jakers-it was definitely fresh and so good. If we weren’t moving out of state in a week we’d be back. I highly recommend Jakers!

Went to Jaker’s one night for dinner during a business trip and left full, but disappointed. Had higher hopes based off of previous Unilocal reviews and left with a bad taste in my mouth. Ordered the Kobe Steak for dinner, medium rare, and came out close to well done. Few pieces I did eat were low quality and did not really get me very excited. Waitress was attentive and offered to fix the mistake. The cooks remade the steak(and even the sides) and did a better job the second go round. The flavors however still were not all that exciting. I’d say the customer service and attentiveness of the waitress definitely did help my feelings on this place. However, at the end of the day you are visiting a place to eat expecting good food, and did not feel like that’s what I had when I went there. Jaker’s is worth a visit just based off of what else is available in the area. I’d especially say doubly so if you try to avoid the multitude of large chain restaurants in the area(Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse etc). But not a must-visit place every trip in my view.

Love the place with its beer flight and its giant onion ring, or i should rather call it half onion! And their appetizer bread is very yummy with butter on it. Can’t stop eating them! And the ribs and steak are all cooked very tasty. And they helped us to put table together and served like 10 ppl. And price is reasonable. Definitely would stop by again if i pass the town again.

I really cannot think of a worse location for a restaurant. Maybe next to the sketchy General Mills plant down the street? You wind throughout a decent area filled with hotels and once you start hitting some more industrial type of business there is Jaker’s. The outside was very meh, I wasn’t expecting much from the inside. It was dark, lots of dark wood, and carpeting that I would call bowling alley or movie theater carpeting, just a tacky sort of generic patterned stuff. I was excited when snooping around online that they had Gluten Free and Vegetarian menus, but perhaps you have to request those? I then realized there were several locations so by chance maybe this one did not cater to those needs. I started with a Bloody Mary(my new obsession, don’t ask) and it was disappointing. I had to reiterate several times that it could not be garnished with a jumbo shrimp because of an allergy to shellfish. The mix was bland, it was lacking spice, and it seemed to have too much worscetershire sauce in it. The vodka had a terribly cheap taste to it as well. I was then brought«scones» which were really like unsweetened donuts. They were fried. Not my cup of tea. For an entrée I decided against the«Irish» buffet for St Patricks day(hey, I’m Italian… and a bit skeeved by buffets at times) and got the meatloaf. I have determined that if I’m eating meat, its either BBQ or Meatloaf from here on out. The meatloaf was literally just meat. Supposedly it was made with italian sausage but I didn’t find any fennel or other sausage like flavors. The mashed potatoes were awesome and had huge cloves of roasted garlic throughout them. The asparagus was just plain old asparagus but it hit the spot. I could see this being a good choice for those who want a local chain with meat and potatoes and hearty home cooked style meals.
