Cool little bar in Idaho Springs where you’ll find all the locals at. Even though it is a local bar, the patrons don’t act rude or stuck up towards visitors.
Make sure you try some of their smoked BBQ as well. While it’s all really good I always gravitate towards the brisket.

I always stop in here on my wsy up n down I70. New outside seating and smoker were great additions! People are always nice here.

Quick lunch on October 31^st. Had the grilled chicken and a cold beer. This place is a gem in Idaho springs. If you are looking for a bar with good food this is it. Nothing fancy and down to earth just good good and cold beer.

The wife and I stopped by here for lunch after a drive. I had the Brisket sandwich and. It’s the best I’ve had in Colorado. Wife had pork street tacos.

The «chicken sandwhich» I had was literally just bread and chicken. It was one of the most tasteless, bland things I’ve ever eaten. This place must be highly rated because of the drinks.

After a white water rafting trip we were searching for a place to get a cold drink and some food. So glad we found this local hang out! Great bartender, live band, good food. I had a BBQ smoked brisket which was awesome! My wife liked the sandwich and she is not a fan of BBQ. Defiantly a fun way to end our trip to Idaho Springs.

What a great little local pub! After seeing this place from the freeway countless times on the way to the mountains, we finally stopped in after getting fed up with traffic back to Denver one afternoon and I’m so glad we did!
While our trip was brief, we really enjoyed the crowd and bartender in this place… not to mention the drinks were so reasonably priced! They also have all kinds of fun stickers and décor (if you can call it that) inside. Keep your eyes peeled for the «Peter Parka.» I about died from laughter.
I don’t want to say that we’re looking forward to more traffic, but we’ll definitely make the detour again!

This is by far the best bar in Idaho Springs. From staff to food to drinks. If you are looking for an over populated tourist spot with twenty beers on draft and frozen pizza dough then look somewhere else. If you want a local hang out with good munchies, good atmosphere and the best staff in town then you found it with the moose. Can’t wait to hang on the new patio this summer…

Quaint li’l place with friendly service. Nice bottled beer selection. The drafts are lacking somewhat (4 on tap when we were there). BBQ wasn’t too bad but it didn’t blow my mind or anything. There is a limited selection on food, just to give a heads up, but that didn’t factor into my rating.

Just stopped in for a snack and glad we did. Smoked meat was very tasty. Not much on tap but decent selection of bottle beers. Will definitely return.

Great local pub. Awesome food and wonderful service. The bbq is too good not to try. The drinks are generously poured and the service is wonderfully warm. «Locals» place that gets the odd tourist and are friendly even to them! Best place to stop for a drink in clear creek county.

My favorite bar in Idaho Springs! The best atmosphere, food and drinks. The bartenders are all very friendly and they have great BBQ! You are going to love this place :-)

So there is no better local hang out in Idaho Springs. great service from Red, he can truly do it all by himself. You must stop by and enjoy this cozy bar with a fireplace and all the games on the tv. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m so happy we stopped here. Everyone always suggests other places but I always wanted to pop in here. I’m not sure what I expected, maybe something dark and dreary, I don’t know, but this place was anything but! I really liked the vibe, people were great, and it was just warm and friendly. They had the basketball game on, they had a good selection of beer (mostly bottles), and the food was fantastic. We had the brisket and the smoked burger. I think both were polished off in seconds! I also think we might have been the only two non-​locals– bonus points there! ;) There is no question this will be my must stop in Idaho Springs on skiing or hiking days, or just random road trip days! ;)

The brisket is the go-​to best ever sandwich in the world. I was glad that there were no distracting sides… just chips. This piece of heaven needed nothing else. The pork shoulder Sammy was good, but for a melt in your mouth religious experience… the brisket is the way to see the light, and be saved by BBQ… hallelujah ! (Amen)

A must stop! Friendly staff, great music and the BEST Smokehouse Sandwich Menu in the mountains!

Just a warm mountain dive with Odell and Breckenridge brews from a cooler and some of the spiciest green chili I’ve ever consumed. The patrons are relaxed, polite, and inviting, and the staff is all that even more so. The enclosed patio, with a blaze smoldering, is a nice touch on a chilled autumnal evening; it would surely be downright splendid as the real chill encroaches.
Hits all the dive spots.

Yep, cool local bar. Just what I needed after two days of meetings in Denver. A quick escape to the mountains. Just had beers, so can’t vouch for food.

Update: we stopped in last night after having dinner in Georgetown and it reminded me of how much I really like this place. It’s always a pleasure to step inside and the people there (particularly Mason) are always smiling and and engaging. Also, they put a good door on the patio out back, so the smoke level is down — i do still wish we could sit out there, but people have to have thier4 cigs i guess. So anyway, bumping up the ratings because I feel it’s wrong to only have 4 stars on my review of this place. Original review below.
The Vintage Moose is the cleanest and most well stocked bar in Idaho Springs and all of the staff are very friendly. That’s probably about all you need to know.
They have decent bar snacks and big open patio out back. The only problem is that people use it as a smoking lounge so there are times that it’s just full of smokers, not people trying to relax in a large open quiet place. That’s the only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars.
