Chevy did some warranty work on my 2013 Silverado. When I got home the truck was making all kinds of noise to the point that I was afraid to drive it back down to the dealer service center. Pablo and Bobby not only found the problem, which was two missing bolts that had allowed my front differential to hang down and cause it to rub on the axle, but they fixed it the same day and wrote up a detailed report to take back to the dealer who made the mistake. I would never take my vehicle anywhere else! Nice to have a shop that is not only efficient but also honest and genuinely helpful.

I can’t tell you how much of a relief going here was. My 4WD wasn’t engaging and I couldn’t make it to work. My bosses have been going here forever, so they took me over and I couldn’t be happier. So affordable and the guys are super friendly. I live on the west shore but I’m making these guys my new auto service place. I’ve been to so many overpriced auto places. This is the best in the basin by far.

After my first visit I’ve got to add to the 5 star reviews. From the initial phone calls setting up the service to the drop off and pick up it was an outstanding experience. Finding a local mechanic you can trust is rare, finding one that really listens to the customer AND goes the extra mile to fill in the gaps in requested service (while looking for other issues that might have been missed) is exceptional. My first experience gives me the confidence to return for more extensive maintenance work as I can fit it in the budget. Attention to detail was spot on and the prices charged were more than fair. Bottom line — they are great guys who clearly care about their customers and take care of your car as if it were their own.

You’re always reluctant to commit to a new auto repair service because of the risk of poor service or unfair pricing. Especially in a resort town.
But I went for it at Auto Service by Allan…
I needed the front brakes done on my beloved 2005 Nissan Titan.
They spent time with me discussing what I do need and what I don’t need done. I was prepared to do both the front and back brakes but they told me I still had over 40% left in the rear so we decided to just do the front brakes for now.
As it turned out, I got the best after market rotors because I live in the mountains and I got new pads installed perfectly at a couple hundred dollars less than I expected to pay.
It’s been over 8 months now and everything brake related on my truck is still perfect.
I couldn’t be happier!

Honest, competent mechanics and a job done as promised. As good as it gets! We were on vacation when one power window would no longer respond to the button. I called that afternoon right at closing time and Pablo suggested coming in the next morning. They were full for the day, but Bobby called Sacramento to get the regulator for the window, assured us it would come in that afternoon and gave us an appointment for 8 the next morning. We were there on time, they did the job in an hour and a half while we went to breakfast and they charged a fair price for it.

When I first saw this place on Unilocal I was suspicious of ALL 19 reviews being 5 star. Now, having had our VW Beetle serviced there, I feel compelled to add a 20^th. Bobby and Pablo are a breath of fresh air in the cranky, shady world of auto repair. They were extremely personable and helpful in getting the car ready for our daughter to take to college. I highly recommend them.

One of the last honest repair shops. They only charge $ 68 to swap out snow tires, even if you have tpms. Nowadays places are charging $ 20 to even $ 25 a tire. Bobby is the man. Go with confidence.

We were visiting Incline for a few days and the day we were leaving we noticed our brakes were grinding on our minivan. Thankfully we found Allan via Unilocal.We called ahead and Allan said to come in for a quick diagnosis and he would check his sources for brake pads and rotors. He called auto supply places nearby and even in Truckee but no parts were available. Then he contacted an auto parts place in Carson City and they had the parts. So he sent us off to the beach for a few hours, drove his OWN car to Carson City to pick up the parts (45 min each way) & came back and installed the parts. Within 3 – 4 hours he called and said it was ready. I insisted he charge me for his time and he only charged us $ 20 extra for his gas. He was so genuine and concerned that we get home safely. Wow, all I can say is IMPRESSIVE service and this guy Allan knows his stuff!

Oh my gosh what a life saver. Allen came to me diagnosed the problem and got it done for much less than I expected.

I took my 2010 Crosstour to Les Schwab on Virginia st. In Reno. They told me it would be $ 627.00 to replace four brake pads without even looking at the rotors. The rotors would be extra if they needed to be replaced. Oh, they couldn’t get the parts for two days. I took the car in the next morning to Allan’s and Bobby was great. All new heavy duty brake pads and two new front rotors for $ 507.00 and it will be done the next day by noon. I have no idea why I went to Less, I mean More Schwab. It will never happen again. If you are on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe take your vehicle to Allan’s. They are without a doubt the best I have ever used.

HONESTLY THE BEST! Allan and his staff are super honest and not your typical automotive shysters. I tell you, there’s some sort of Zen thing going on in their shop– all the guys are always calm, genuine, present, and kind. If I ever move away from the area, I don’t know what I’d do. They do great work and truly have your best interests in mind.

«02 Eclipse brought in for front end clunk noise. We figured maybe CV joint; shop figured maybe wheel bearing assembly (more expensive!). Next day Paul called to inform us that the lugs were so loose (one missing) that wheel had nearly came off! C! eaning, tightening and replacing missing lug solved whole problem! So impressed with their honesty and integrity. God Bless and thanks to this shop!

I don’t trust just any one with my fiesta, and they were great with her. They were also super fast, which was nice bc I live out in Truckee and had no way of getting back home without my car. They whipped it out while I walked my puppy, and she was purring like a kitten. The rumors are true! This place is great.

I’ve now been to these guys twice and both times they’ve exceeded my expectations. By the way, that’s not a sentence that I usually associate with a mechanic or garage. The first time I brought my car in they were able to offer me fast and reliable service for a variety of items. They put on new brake pads, fixed my battery and did several other minor things. The pricing was fair (especially for Incline Village), the service was great and the turn around time was very minimal. The second time I brought my car by because the check engine light was on (I drive a Subaru Outback). Paul looked at my car right there and then. He hooked up the computer and did a quick diagnostic and reset it so that my check engine light went off. All this was done for free. These guys are really fair, provide excellent service and I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to them.

After my power steering pump started making some noise I brought it to Bobby and he diagnosed it very quickly. Two days later I dropped it off and he fixed it that day. It’s been running great ever since and they are way better priced and more personal than the Subaru dealership. I will always come back here for service.

These guys wrote the book on how to run a great auto shop. Today my battery was acting up, so I called them and Bobby said, «Bring her in!» Paul saw me pull up at 9:30 am, checked my battery, did a bit of dis and a bit of dat to make sure my alternator and starter weren’t the problem, installed a new battery, and had me out the door in less than 45 minutes for $ 135. Fair, fast work, as always. Support local businesses!

Very helpful. We drove in from Oregon and had our «check engine» light come on during the trip. They diagnosed the problem without charging us and gave us a reasonable price quote to repair some wires.
We decided we could probably to the labor ourselves and they didn’t try and pressure us to stay. If we ever had car issues again I’d go back to them.

These guys are the greatest. Honest, well priced. They have checked out
my car and told me what I needed to do to fix it myself. And
lent me tools to do it. I would recommend them over anyone else in the
area. And believe me, I have tried a couple of others. No one comes close
to these guys.

These guys are honest. I have 75k miles on my brakes, and I went in to get my brakes checked at Allan’s. They said they looked like they had about 1000 miles left on them, and that the back drum brakes had more life too. I was blown away — my mechanic in Virginia said that the brakes could be done 40k miles ago — I’m glad I waited.
I went ahead and got it done, and the price for the brake job was very very reasonable. I recommend them to everyone I know.

I was in a bind. I knew my brakes were wearing thin, but I had promised to drive 4 other people to Tahoe from the Bay Area. I thought I’d be able to wait.
Cue fucked up grinding noise– I was wrong.
I made an appointment with these guys. I rolled in around 9am and was out the door with new brake pads, rotors, and emergency brake shoes by 11ish. The total cost for pads, rotors, and shoes for my rear wheels (the front were fine) came to just under $ 450, which was a totally fair price. I could definitely see a shady shop jacking up the price to take advantage of a dumbshit tourist like myself who let his brakes go. And since I was out by 11, I still would have been able to hit the slopes for a half-​day of skiing.
What really popped them up to the full five stars were the following:
–Their mechanics really knew their shit. The guy knew all about my car, including when GM switched to rear disc brakes instead of the old drum brakes, including why the rear wears so much faster than the front.
–They took the time to show me exactly where the damage was, how it got that way, how to avoid it in the future, and options on how much it would cost to fix it.
–The owner himself test drove the car to make sure everything was the way it should be.
–And finally, as noted above, they got me out of there in just under two hours. The last thing anyone on vacation wants to deal with is car bullshit, and they were definitely aware of that.
As a special bonus, everyone there was really nice and cool. I hope that I never have to deal with car trouble on a Tahoe vacation again, but if I ever find myself in North Shore with a broken down car I know exactly where I’m going.
