Wonderful! Food is so fresh. Really love the bread. Owners are very friendly and inviting.

I love this place. It really gives a small-town feel to an otherwise big city. When I want a nice, quiet, delicious meal, I’ll come here. Their BLT is so delicious– it’s such a simple sandwich but they do it so nicely. Also they have the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had in my life. I haven’t found a place that has better fries. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. My husband and I love to come here!

Dave’s bakery and deli was sort of a spontaneous lunch in the independence square, I had seen it on Unilocal and was in the area craving a good sandwich. I kinda stumbled upon it but wasn’t disappointed, the inside is definitely a older, almost cafeteria like dinning area. Nothing fancy but it feels comfy. Large variety of stuff to get on the menu, I ended up getting the Rueben sandwich with some delicious sweet potato fries. They specialize in sandwiches but can whip up hotdogs, cheeseburgers, chicken and salads too. They also carry a large amount of baked goods and ice cream! If you have a sweet tooth it’s worth stopping by here and checking out their selection, the rueben I ordered took a while to come out but wasn’t a big deal as they were busy at lunch hour. The sandwich was warm, fresh bread, good quality beef and sauerkraut and sauce gave it a good kick. Would certainly try something else from Daves if I’m in independence area!

I would eat here everyday if I could. It has the best bread in town. The carmel nut rolls are AMAZING! The sandwiches they make are good and the staff is very friendly.

Everyone I came with enjoyed their food like never before, great juicy burgers, great standard fries, drinks and plenty of tables. The food was served quick but had a fresh feel to the toppings which I loved very much! Definitely coming back for more sandwiches. Just a lot to choose from.

This place is nothing fancy but we stop in once a week for donuts or beacon egg and cheese croissants. Always quick and friendly service!

A little small town deli on their downtown square. Excellent sandwiches with homemade bread. Mrs. Eva had a burger and sweet potato fries, I had ham salad sandwich. We had plenty and it was tasty.

The grilled ham and cheese on wheat is awesome! The bread(wheat) was fresh and light, the ham was actually grilled… reminded me of a place in Pittsburg called the Mall Deli!!! Cookies were dry and seemed to be old. Great place plus they have Coke Zero on tap!

I go there about once a week. The owners are always friendly. If you become a regular, they will learn your name and always greet you with a smile. The prices are competitive. You generally get your food fairly quickly, and it’s one of the few places on the square you can do a ‘grab and go’ stop. The food is always good and fresh. The sandwiches are very good. I generally get the turkey on wheat, salmon on wheat, or grilled chicken. I hear a lot of people saying their burgers are outstanding as well.

Enjoyed a roast beef sandwich on fresh baked bread, great onion rings. Homemade muffin was very good. Reasonably priced. Fast & friendly. As the location is a prime downtown spot and it is in the tourist area, the prices easily could have been much higher.

The food won’t kill you, but it’s really not that great. Dave’s will do in a pinch for a sandwich and some chips, served quickly at very affordable prices. It’s a fairly interesting space, though not attractive by any means– it just has some old school charm. The doughnuts are decent and they offer a good-sized hot breakfast menu which I have not tried. The staff here is friendly and keep the place tidy and clean.
