Mom and I decided to get our hair cut for the summer… great for her, UGH for me! Mom was able to get right into Matthew’s chair. He is such a sweetie! Cute punk trended haircut and sparkling eyes and just seemed to enjoy what he was doing He took the time to listen to my mom and gave her exactly as she asked for. He did the obligatory upsell BUT, since they are always having some sort of a sale, it was great to pick up name brand product for $ 10 (Sexy Big Hair – usually $ 17+).
My experience was drastically different! After about ten minutes, I was called to Ashton’s chair. Matthew reminded her that I wanted my hair cut with a razor as opposed to scissors, she was all about it… Great! she said. Once I was in the chair, all decked out in the stylish lil aprons :), she advised me that she didn’t have a razor but knew how to get the same effect with scissors and some other tool. I was apprehensive but her hair was cute and she seemed to know what she was talking about so I said… ok, lets do it! I showed her how I wanted my hair cut-​via a picture-​and no it was not a pic of some gorgeous hair that she had to make from my short hair… I really wasn’t asking for much! As Ashton started working, I quickly realized that once she had you in the chair, it was her world and you were just living in it! She was rude to other customers, seemed to hate her job and let everyone know that she «cussed like a sailor but her daughter only repeated some of the stuff». Once she started cutting, she didn’t speak and it seemed like she was working on a mannequin head – NO, there is a person attached to this hair! Jerking, pulling, spraying water in the eyes and all over… WOW, calm down with the water will yah?!? When she felt she was done, she asked my opinion – NOPE, its not like a razor cut but I was OVER the entire situation! I just wanted the hell outta her chair! No blowdry, no product, no styling… nothing…no upsell! She went to the register, rang my mom and I up and gave me the charge slip to sign making sure I knew what the blanks were for…“if your not tipping in cash, there are two lines for EACH of the stylist”…this isn’t my first rodeo darlin!
Yes, they say you get what you pay for but there was no excuse for her attitude or lack of customer service or hair cutting techniques! My mom received an EXCELLENT cut and experience so it was worth it to sit with my demon stylist. I would have flipped out had my mother gotten her and been treated that way.
I gave it two stars because of Matthew… had I only experienced him, it would have been five stars. Someone needs to get her outta there!
