McDermott Moving Company

I used this company because my brother, a local contractor, uses them for moving his show homes, and he highly recommended them. I now know why he uses them. They are fantastic! The experience from start to finish was great. They are polite, professional, and very experienced.
My husband and I had a complicated move, because our move out date was different than our move in date. But they made it very easy. They moved all of our things out of our loft quickly, without any issues. The 3 man crew worked together and were very proficient. They had all the tools needed to make our move successful and they provided us with free wardrobe boxes. The leader/​foreman of the crew did an amazing job of encouraging and guiding his team with difficult turns, angles, and large pieces of furniture. After they loaded our things in record time, they stored it for us for three days before we could move into our new home. The same crew met us on our move-​in day and we walked through the house to make sure they knew where everything went before unloading. Again, they worked quickly and had everything in the correct places in only a few hours without any damages or issues. They even followed up with a courtesy call the next day to make sure we were satisfied.
I will definitely use them again for any future moving needs. They were wonderful!

We hired McDermott moving to transport our heavy items and couldn’t be happier. Bob was easy to work with in scheduling. Everything was done over the phone. The crew arrived at 8 am sharp as scheduled. The men were courteous and professional. They worked well together as a team. They were friendly and respectful of our items. They did a fantastic job moving our grand piano and set it up exactly where we wanted it. We received a follow up phone call from Bob within an hour of their departure to check how everything went. Now that is Customer Service! What a great experience. It was worth it. Thanks again, McDermott Moving. We would gladly use you again.

This is how business should be done. This morning was my first time using McDermott Moving Company and I can honestly say I won’t call anyone else to move me in the future. These men were on time, organized, task oriented, and made sure I was completely satisfied with the job each step of the way. You can pay anyone to move you, but until today I didn’t know I should have expected more from a moving company (and I’ve used a few).
Ok, specifics: any time I’ve phoned Mr. McDermott, he’s gotten back to me immediately if he didn’t answer directly. He’s been doing good business for years and it shows. I’m accustomed to having to remind the moving crew and repeat myself. Nope-​these guys came fully informed and prepared. Communication was top notch. So impressive!
In the past I’ve had movers who either rushed through the job or were very relaxed (joking around, foul language, basically acting like kids). These men show a work ethic I don’t see much anymore. That’s huge. Yep, HUGE.
Any items that were unstable, broken or obviously missing parts were set aside for me to inspect before entering the truck. Again, the communication was impeccable. (I already knew what was broken, but these guys are so forthright. They take responsibility for every item that enters their truck). I’m just so impressed.
These are just a few things that set this company apart. As a female trying to blend two larger households into a small apartment, moving is stressful. (God, I hate moving!!) Mr. McDermott made this a success. These are my guys from now on.

McDermott Moving was fantastic. The guys were well dressed, well groomed and very polite. Very well managed. Got to work promptly and were very professional. There pricing is portal to portal so take that into consideration when comparing price quotes.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent… what more can I say. This family-​owned business provided the utmost customer service and care during my move. Their 3 man crew was at my house promptly and worked very gently and quickly. The took down the furniture and put it back wherever I wanted. Before they left, they made sure that I was satisfied with the placement of my furniture and service. I would highly recommend these movers and would definitely use them again in the future.
