Don’t go to this restaurant. Total rip off. My meat burrito had almost NOMEAT in it. Maybe half a tablespoon. The side dish of rice and beans was Tiny. They only care about profit. All you get there is cheap filler carbohydrates. Flour, rice, beans etc. They put very little meat into the meals. So you pay a lot and get nothing and they make a nice profit. You would be better off going to taco Bell. My girlfriend’s dish had VERYLITTLECHICKEN also. We paid but we felt violated. I seen similar complaints. The corporation must have a plan to cheat people.

This was the most disappointing experience we’ve had. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes. My daughter got up and ask the host where our server was. Waited a little longer, finally got a waitress. Placed our order. We were brought chips that weren’t even cooked. Then we waited another 25 mins for our food. My dinner was wrong. Was told they would bring me the right thing-now everyone is done. Still never got my correct order. Never again!

Our server Louis was amazing, we never needed to ask for anything and his smile and enthusiasm is very contagious! Our food was delicious, the presentation was lovely. Thanks to Louis our chips and salsa never ran out and our beverages stayed full as well… what a nice place to enjoy lunch!

This is our favorite TexMex in the KC area. Food is very good. We usually order the fajitas. Fresh veggies, great guacamole. As a plus the staff are always helpful and courteous . Our waiter, Zane, is a fine young man. We’ve also enjoyed Lewis. The manager, Liz, stopped by our table and was great. If you have a desire for TexMex come here. .

Had an absolutely wonderful meal. Will ask for Zane every time as he was wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. Service was impeccable, food was wonderful. What more can you ask for?

Service was sparse. The brisket tacos were very dry and tasteless. You’re in KC, if you’re going to serve brisket, it shouldn’t be like eating shredded wheat. Everything on my plate was just lukewarm. The wife and kid said theirs was OK, nothing special. Typical chain Mexican food that is barely better than Taco Bell. In fact, for the money, gimme Taco Bell.

Veterans day and it was packed. They said a 15 min wait but had us seated in less than 10. The server was talkative and fun. Being a veteran he(the server) directed me to the free combo dinner! Between my wife and I we had way too much food for a normal person to consume. I read another review saying they left hungry, I can only assume they didn’t order because these are mid-west portions. We didn’t finish our food. We did take something home… GAS. All night we suffered from small explosions under the covers. My wife thought someone was setting off fireworks while I was having flashbacks of my military days. I deducted a star because this was suppose to be a date night which was ruined by the involuntary releases of gas from our bowels.

My family and I went on a Sunday the Chief’s(football) were playing, so it was Happy Hour all day. This meant that there were drink and food specials. I think I got two mini chimichangas for $ 3? That was one of the specials. Granted there wasn’t hardly any meat in it, but I still thought it was okay. I was actually more impressed with their chips and salsa though, which is ironic because those come automatically with anything you order. It’s like the chips and salsa they give you at El Maguey at the start of every meal. Even though I like the salsa at El Maguey, I felt like On the Border’s salsa was different in a good way. It was chunkier and the flavor was nice. Their tortilla chips are also a bit hardier than the thin ones at El Maguey. Overall, I would recommend this place to other people, but you have to keep in mind that it will be a bit pricey if you don’t go during Happy Hour. Each entrée is around $ 8 – 10 and up. Also, we had a really great waitress, but there was another one we saw that turned me off immediately. She was sweeping the floor, and when a customer asked something, she actually rolled her eyes! So beware; You might get a bad waitress/waiter!
