First thing, put employees on the line who speak English! Two, when I say«Hi, I would like…», doesn’t mean turn around and grab a ticket off the wall and pretend you didn’t hear me. I don’t have time for your condescending attitude. There was no one in line when we arrived, so there was no reason for her actions.

A granddaughter & I were shopping last week and I asked where she would like to eat. Her choice was Chipotle Mexican Grill in Independence. I ordered the steak burrito and chose brown rice, pico, grilled peppers & onions, pinto beans and guacamole. It was so huge that I grabbed a knife and fork on the way to find a table. No way could I have picked up even half of this behemoth without it falling to pieces. The flavors were a nice blend and the steak was actually pretty flavorful and mostly tender. Granddaughter got a basket with three chicken tacos. They were also quite large and she finished two of the three and got a to-go sack for the last one. I ate about ½ of my burrito and wrapped the other half for home. The counter staff was friendly and helpful. I am underwhelmed by their dine-in space. I know most of the Chipotle’s I have visited over the years are decorated in a minimalist style, but this location seems almost more prison cafeteria than urban restaurant. My impression was a medium sized square room, grey walls, concrete surfaces, not much to look at but the food. Frankly, it’s kind of depressing. It was clean but seemed dark and closed in to me. I almost deducted a star for how it made me feel, but what with the quality and quantity of the food items we ordered and with the nice, young staff who waited on us, I decided to leave it at 3 stars. I might go back, but also might just get my food to-go.

We went to Chipotle last night because we had done a survey promotion and won a buy one get one free coupon. When we got to the register the cashier was having trouble getting the code to work. A female manager came over and told my wife she had already used the code. My wife told her she just got it yesterday and had not used it. The manager rudely said it had been used in her system and there was nothing she could do. My wife paid but was so mad she couldn’t eat so she took it back and recieved a return. She was annoyed the test of the night thanks Chipotle for ruining a nice night with my wife after a hard week at work. We get chipotle almost every Friday and usually enjoy it, but will have to seriously consider it before returning. No offense we are not going to try to scam you especially over a 7.00 burrito

Chipotle experiences do vary from location to location, but this one has always been solid for quality of food and prep. Having had some poorly prepared beef in other locations(yes, there is more finesse involved than just tossing chunks of meat onto a hot griddle and searing the shizz outta them), this location is generally good on meat prep, and they move the lines efficiently. Great food in general, staff is solid, and the Chipotle guarantee for quality ingredients… means I’m a return customer.

Speedy and delicious as always! Love the staff at this location. So friendly! Had my usual carnitas burrito with a side of cops and guac. This is my favorite restaurant so I’m semi bias but they are my favorite because they’re so good!

It really pains me that I am giving two stars to a chipotle and that I’m reviewing a rather large restaurant chain, but this location really disappoints me. I stopped by this chipotle after work to grab a salad around 2:00 when the lunch rush had died down and I was the only one in line. Every person on the line was just staring at me waiting for me to say something. I understand it’s an assembly line, but a question or two about which beans or meat I wanted would have been nice. Once I got to the end to pay, I had to tell the girl three times that YES, in fact I wanted the dressing that comes with the salad. After I paid and passed through the very small dining area, I noticed how dirty it was… And when I arrived home to enjoy my salad… Alas, DRY lettuce with beans and meat. No dressing to be found. Fantastic.

Well I must have been in here at the wrong time. The food was up to specs but the place is very dirty.

My family and I love Chipotle because they are freaking fast and we can each get exactly what we want, so every now and then we will place a fairly large order for maybe seven or eight people. In the past this has been a fantastic option for us, but the last two times we did this, we ended up with several different burritos that were wrong — sour cream on my cousin’s burrito even though she’s lactose intolerant, steak instead of chicken, etc — and the last time, every single order was wrong. Not one out of the six of us got what we ordered. I understand sometimes there’s a pretty big dinner rush and the employees have to work pretty quickly(and usually they do a great job at handling a long line), but I would HAPPILY sacrifice a minute or two to make sure my order is correct. There aren’t many tables large enough to accommodate six adults, so when we place our orders like this we always get it to go. I work in Lee’s Summit so I have gotten pretty used to their wide open lobby, so finding a table here can sometimes be frustrating. I don’t want to sound negative because I really enjoy the food here, but I generally enjoy my experience more at other locations. And to a previous review: Yes, I do expect my meal to come as I ordered it. That isn’t me being crazy or nitpicky. That’s common sense, and it’s something restaurants(even fast food restaurants) should strive for every time. When it comes to my cousin’s lactose intolerance, or my vegetarianism, an order that comes out wrong usually means it can’t be eaten, and I’m not willing to spend money on food that I can’t eat.

Too many bad reviews for messed up burritos, portion sizes, and the employees. It’s a fast causal burrito place! What do you expect? Perfection every time like a fine dining restaurant? People have to learn how to roll a 5lb burrito. They actually don’t teach that in school — crazy I know. You’re going to tear it to shreds anyway and it’s already 3x the size of your mouth. You will be messy. Portion sizes? Really? «I’m so mad! Chipotle just made by burrito 3.1lbs instead of 3.4lbs.» — said no one ever. If you’re worried about how little you’re getting at Chipotle then you probably shouldn’t be eating out in the first place. Employees. I’ve hear and read lots about how much people are irritated by the language barrier of some staff. You’re probably the same people that go to France and get super pissed when people speak French, am I right? «This is ‘Merica, and we speak English» said the redneck cowboy in the Chipotle line. The worst part is when they get a white person making they’re burrito they’re pissed about my first point(burrito malfunctions). My food review: The food is like I’m in my adopted family’s Mexican kitchen eating a burrito. It’s hand made, finest ingredients, super protein filled, and FREAKING delish. I eat here way to often because it’s convenient and oh so good. I honestly don’t have a single complaint about this location or food and I’ve been coming here since it opened. The only complaint I can think of is the hours of toilet sitting that follow eating Chipotle that everyone gets… but still worth it. I love you Chipotle.

The restaurant opens at 11am. Usually around 10:50, customers from a line outside the door. Twice, I have stood in the cold while employees sit inside by the window eating, only to have the doors not open until 11:04 or 11:05. Quality is average. The workers seem to rush me even though I know exactly what I want. My tacos and bowls often get stuff slopped into it. Portions of cheese vary day to day. One time you’ll get a handful and the next day a pinch. Inconsistent. Just an okay chipotle.

This chipotle has the most rudest employees in the area. They act like it’s a problem if ask for more of something and rush you through. I get they’re busy but they do it to a point to where they miss a topping you said or barely put it on your item. I would rather drive out to sterling than go to this location.

I haven’t been to a Chipotle since 2002. It was in Chicago. I didn’t like it then but thought maybe my tastes have changed. I enjoyed Cabo Bob’s, and even somewhat liked Freebird’s, in Austin. Bad mistake. First of all you don’t have any flavor choices on your tortilla. They’re pre-made and steamed from what I can see. This made it horribly chewy like rubber. I could not even get my teeth through the parts where it was folded over. Second, the chicken was burned, dried up chunks that lended the occasional crunch to my burro. Not the texture I go for in a burrito. It was like I was crunching into a bug or something foreign like that. The chips were too thick and stale-tasting. Not much flavor to the salsa either, just heat. Will not be returning, ever

I eat here every Tuesday before church. Chipotle is DIVINE. I think when God was telling the desciples what to write in the bible. Genesis 1 meant to say God created the heavens and the earth… And chipotle. And it was good.

It’s Chipotle. The food is good. As others have noted, the portion sizes at this Chipotle are inconsistent. My coworker swore off this place after receiving inadequate portions more than once. I went back today because it is closest to work and I was hungry for a good Friday lunch. I was incorrectly charged by the cashier(she charged me for someone else’s food and their order was drastically different from mine) and when I pointed this out and then pointed out that the refund was not done correctly — she originally charged me ~$ 11, only refunded $ 6 of it, and then proceeded to try and charge me another $ 6 for my food, stating that the $ 5 she didn’t refund was the charge for my soda. Um, $ 5 for my *soda*? My dining companion and I both promptly questioned this, resulting in her yelling at us to just take the food and go. There are lots of other Chipotles in this city with employees who are nice and are generous with the portion sizes. I see no reason to ever go back to this one.

Prepare to wait. This is Chipotle, so like the rest, the food is good. The only critique would be that they need to be consistent with each order. This can at times get annoying to anyone in line that see’s the dish before or after theirs with differing portion levels(meats, cheese, so on). I for one have lucked out so far, but have around others when they’ve expressed their displeasure while waiting in the long line(I did say prepare to wait, right?).

«Honey, I don’t feel like cooking(or eating your cooking, either). Let’s go out.» «Ok, pizza?» «No, I want something healthy.» «Ok, salad bar?» «No, I want something flavorful.» «Ok, sandwiches?» «No, I want something fulfilling. I know — Chipolte.» «You are so smart. I love you.» This Chipolte is one of the best in town thanks to its clean facility, outdoor seating, and abundance of parking. Since the place is so epic you can prepare to wait awhile for food but make up your mind about what you want to order while standing in line. You start with a base or sorts — Burrito? Salad? Taco? Naked? Then you decide on your meat(or non-meat) and what kind of beans you want(black/pinto) and rice then go to town with adding your toppings: fajita-style veggies, corn salad, pico salsa, lots of cheese, and of course sour cream and guacamole. Basically you can make anything you want with their ingredients. Added with their DELICIOUS thin and salty tortilla chips and #winning.

This food should be hard to screw up. So should the execution of it… it’s just an assembly line, right? I lucked out, here, but only because I always order my burrito as a «bowl,» i.e. sans tortilla. I got to watch the same kid DESTROY the burritos of the three people in front of me, ripping every single one to shreds as the customers looked on, and only bothered to remake the last of three when the guy ordering it got huffy. All the while, carrying on banter with his coworkers about how he’s «not a slacker.» This is a little-bitty restaurant, so keeping it picked up should be easier, in theory… however, both trashes were full to the point of overflowing, and this was not during a rush. There appeared to be an abundance of employees, so how about making sure your tiny dining area is clean, guys? Wouldn’t take long.

I like Chipotle, so maybe I’m a fan of chain restaurants, but this one is about the only decent neighborhood Mexican restaurants. By neighborhood meaning, it’s pretty damn close, and pretty damn good. They sometimes have a bit of a language barrier with Mexican speaking employees, but always understand«rice on the side»(my rice can’t touch my burrito, it has to be on the side.) This location piles on the toppings, not sparring any. I appreciate that.(Lol, no calories there?) The line is usually pretty quick, but it looks to be a long wait, with people clear to the front door. I can choose between toppings and salsas, whatever matches my mood. I can choose beans, meats, or vegetarian. I really like the burrito bowl, no burrito shell, and toppings piled high on the plate.(My rice on the side). Enough for 3 dinners, cause I eat it by thirds(or by halves if I’m really hungry). For 5.95, where else can you go? Their guacamole is excellent and fresh and the brightest green ever. It’s 1.80 more. Inside industrialized decorations: this is the first place I’d seen with industrial décor. Outside seating. Always full, but kind of smallish for it’s crowd. Sometimes it’s difficult to find a seat if you eat your food there.
