Second Chance Books

I’ve been buying from this bookman since his store was on 99W in Monmouth. Lately I’ve been cutting back on visitation because stock turnover has slowed dramatically, but this is a problem afflicting every bookstore in the mid-​valley that I regularly browse. Organization is good, no books on the floor, single-​story and I think a person on a walker could access every aisle. I concentrate largely on nonfiction and I have found wonderful things in cookbooks, technical, reference, biographies and history. Prices are good. They also sell their perceived marketable books on Amazon and you can browse those on the shelf behind the counter.
I look on this bookstore as one cornerstone in a total Independence visit. The Old Town is very walkable and you can eat at the elegant Pink House or any of the restaurants on the main drag, of which I recommend highly the artisan bakery. Or you could get takeout and eat on the riverbank in Riverfront Park.

Love this place! Great place to buy great books! You can also bring in your gently used books and get in store credit and get free books. This place is awesome! Even my 7 year old loves it!

Rather extensive selection, both quality and quantity.
