This place is a coveted treasure, for anyone who needs costume, retro or vintage items. Even last minute I always find something I can use. The owner is one awesome, friendly lady and she loves what she does! I highly suggest coming here for Halloween authenticity.

Best place to get the perfect wedding dress, lots to chose from. Love this shop! The nicest people. I’m sending my friend there tomorrow.

This place had a very good selection of clothing, but the shop itself is a MESS and you’re lucky to find what you’re looking for in the crammed chaos. I think perhaps they need a very large sale and lower prices to get rid of some of the stock. The items are so crammed on the racks, you have to remove a foot of clothing just to move shirts/dresses/whatever around enough to even see the fronts of them. Lots of vintage hats too, but you have to search through boxes to view them all. I bought two dresses and a jacket. I was pleased though felt I paid a bit much for them. Made better quality finds at Re-Runs, but when I got home and washed the items(they were cotton dresses and I washed them delicate), I found holes(and not all fixable!) So I def paid too much and because I washed them, I’m just plum out of luck. I also live far away. The higher rating(three instead of two) is because the lady in the store was very nice and helpful without pressuring or hovering. I appreciated her. She even offered to fix a rip my stepmother found while trying something on.

Wow, drove past this store every day for 6 months, but didn’t go in because I didn’t quite know what to make of the outside of it. It looks like part costume shop/part vintage clothing shop… and there are often interesting outfits in the window(I think it was a polyester tie-dye leisure suit at Halloween). Anyway, finally went in and the place is AWESOME! The outfits are sorted by decade(1890’s, 1920s, 1940s, etc…). When you go to the racks of a particular decade, some of the clothes are actually vintage and were created in that decade, while others are recent replicas(still in the style of that decade), so they’ve been grouped together. It makes for very interesting shopping to browse by the«decade» that inspires you most. There are some obvious costume pieces(wild, technicolor bell bottoms perfect for a Halloween costume or a Renaissance velvet corset), but there’s also lots of things that you could wear day-to-day. I got a dress that was an almost exact replica of the brown dress with white polka dots that Julia Roberts wore to the horse races in Pretty Woman. I think it was $ 28. Anyway, this place is chock-full of purses, shoes, accessories, and clothing… you could easily spend a couple of hours digging through the racks and adding to your wardrobe. Teens to grandmas could find clothing here. It’s more expensive/better quality than a thrift store, but less expensive/more unique than a regular retail store. You get the feeling that the owner lady has spent a lifetime hand-picking each of the unique items to add to the store’s inventory.

This place is fantastic! It’s a bit hidden, so many don’t know about it. and they’re surely missing out. The owner has been collecting for 20+ years, and has a great selection. Infact, you can walk in, tell her what you’re looking for and she’ll most likely have it, and if not she’ll look in her many storage units til she does! I have never been dissapointed with the selections, and the prices are great.

This place is the gem that some naysayers have said nay to. This is my favorite New York City vintage store except it is not in NYC and everything in the place is actually affordable. I go there at least six times a year and I always spend at least two hours digging through racks… There is not too much foot traffic so the owner who was very nice and extremely knowledgeable was basically my personal shopper. She could tell right away my style and knew where the items I would like were and if they would fit or not. After I pick out way more than I know I can afford she can always tell I am trying to make a decision and makes me a great deal on all of it. The clothing there is easy to sort through and nothing but the best quality vintage clothes. If you are rad enough to hear about this place by word of mouth then you are probably going to love it.

So is it just me or are you allowed to actually take the clothes off the rack from a clothing shop? Who knew? What a concept. Perhaps you actually might have to try on the clothes. I don’t know. You Unilocalers can tell me. On to the review.. . I heard some good stuff about Vintage Vogue and I wanted to love it. In fact, I was praying to love it because of its ridiculous location and the fact it was next to a bodyshop while having a Church’s Chicken across the highway. Vintage shops to me belong down in neighborhoods with thriving pedestrians and crazy music coming from somewhere. So I wanted me some vintage and that quickly faded. Then I was dealt some weirdness and told to not move merchandise around. I took a jacket off the rack to show my friend because I liked it. After feeling accosted by the notion, I was over this place. Oh, and all of two people were in the shop for 30 minutes(me and thrifty gal) and hardly either of us ever spoken to, albeit upon entry and the stupid warning. What’s good is the shop has some pretty great stuff. Of course, if you don’t break a freaking hanger trying to remove it from the rack. Everything is packed so tightly, you might as well forget about getting it off the rack. I broke 3 plastics!(Go ahead, tell on me.) The shop lends itself more to costumesque attire and for me just wasn’t the gem I was expecting it to be. People around here don’t seem to know the language I’m speaking when it comes to places of this sort.
