Disappointing in quality but if you want a lot of food it will fit the bill. I find their bbq chicken their best item. The bbq is typical dry Florida fare with syrupy flavored catsup of sweet mild or hot. Not my idea of a good bbq plate. There are much better. Charlie and jakes near by or broken barely in Palm Bay. They have nc bbq sauce as well.

I’m shocked by the negative reviews. We have had at least 30 meals here in the past 12 months. We work out of town and always look forward to Memaws. Never had poor service or bad food. The pulled pork lunch special, which we get for dinner, is a lot of food for a good value. The pork is not fatty like other BBQ placed. It’s lean. We have only had the pulled pork and recommend it. Love the variety of sauces at the table. Don’t let the décor or slow pace ruin a great meal. Again… Order the lunch plate… It’s just enough, unless you enjoy over eating or want to take it with you!

Came in Wednesday morning, not busy at all. Maybe four other tables. Server could not be less attentive. Simple breakfast food(eggs, grits, biscuits, pancakes) came out nearly 45 minutes after they were ordered. Sausage was over cooked and difficult to eat. Grits were tasteless and of low quality. Biscuit was cold and stale. The pancakes are different… not sure how to describe them but I wouldn’t order them again. My biggest complaint is not the subpar food and lack of service, but the cleanliness of this beachside staple. The floors are so filthy that your shoes stick when you walk. If you take notice, you will see the black grime buildup where the floors meet the walls. I fear if we were able to see the kitchen we would never eat here again. When the filth seeps out into the dining area, I cannot imagine what the kitchen looks like. Will not be back… ever. Absolutely filthy.

I decided to try breakfast at Memaw’s last week. The place was busy and had a decent reputation. I ordered breakfast and a to-go order at the same time. Sadly, I had a hair in my eggs and the sausage was so overcooked that I couldn’t cut through it with my knife. I asked my very busy waitress if I could cancel my to-go order and she said I could and left. I did not have time to tell her about my breakfast. The manager/owner? immediately sat down(uninvited) with me at my booth and said that if I canceled the order he would have to eat the cost. I told him about the hair and he asked why I didn’t tell anyone. I then mentioned the sausage and he said that I was just making things sound worse. I was VERY uncomfortable with him sitting there and felt as if he was accusing me of lying. I told him that I would pay for the other order but that I didn’t want it. He said that he feeds 300 people for breakfast and doesn’t have problems. He then offered to pay for he to go order and left. I wont be back.

If every restaurant in town has at last a 30 – 45 minute wait times on Saturday night and this one barely had any customers eating I guess I should not be surprised at the terrible service received(or lack there of in this case) If there are literally only 5 tables eating at the restaurant it should not go 15 minutes for a waitress to come take our order, take our appetizer heck acknowledge our presence. Terrible service and not to mention the table behind us had to have the manager brought over cause they had some spoiled food(I think it was catfish) served to them.

Ordered the Ribs, and shredded pork dinners with corn nuggets on the side. The Corn nuggets were the best part of the experience. Especially as they forgot to enclose any eating utensils. Try eating a baked potato with butter and sour cream using only your fingers. Wouldn’t go back there again on a bet.

This is one of the oldest pit bar b q. Restaurants beachside. It’s famous for its catfish. I love it. Smoked flavor it perfect. Also has some of the best BBQ sauses. Delicious

The coleslaw was watery and made with pineapple. The barbecue tasted«frozen» and it was dry and just didn’t have much taste to it. I definitely won’t go there again

Saturday Morning, apparently we went here because they were tolerant of kids. Fine, the kids in tow weren’t acting up, actually they were well behaved. The breakfasts were large in portion, not sure about the quality, as it looked. OK. to me, but when pancakes aren’t served with REAL butter, I think the whole place is kind of sketchy. I ordered a BLT with a side of bacon, because 3 strips is never enough. And the bacon tasted kind of OFF Not bad, just not the kind of bacon I’m used to eating. I won’t go back if I dont have to.

The best bbq hands down. Great service, everyone working here is really friendly. All the bbq sauces are really delicious. Love getting the family feast. Gives you a little bit of everything.

I was dragged here by my family. Honestly most of my family thought we were going down the road to the other BBQ place. The servers were very nice but the road was not. How can the meat be smoked and still so dry? I couldn’t cut the smoked pork with a knife and fork. My husband and I got the meal for 2 and the cole slaw and garlic bread were the best part. Truly when you walk in on the Saturday before Easter and you are one of 6 full tables turn and run the other way.

I love this place. My best friend and I like to eat here when I am down visiting. I love the toast that you can get with the pulled pork sandwich’s. Delicious.

The people working there are nice. But, the food was not good. Really low quality BBQ. I would rather hit a chain joint. Pulled pork was a ground up mash. Everything tastes like it was frozen and heated up in a microwave. The sauces were horrible.

I don’t usually say this but I was supper disappointed! The pulled pork seemed like it came out of a can, and the ribs were very dry. Not impressed.

My cousin really likes this BBQ place, its his favorite and I enjoy going out to. lunch with him. I like eating here too and I usually get the pulled pork plate. The BBQ is good, the sides tasty but they need to step up their game to achieve greatness. I thimk the have the tools but the talent is just not there.

Got the BBQ chicken salad… They used the cartilaginous chicken scrap that most restaurants would throw away. It wad practically inedible. The waitress was pretty friendly.

I would like to start off by saying that this review is based off of catering so I’ve never actually been to the establishment so this review is just food-based. Memaws catered for my friends wedding and I genuinely enjoyed it. I had some type of pineapple glazed chicken which had a phenomenal flavor, it was slightly dry but I still loved it. The green beans and the potatoes were really good though it didn’t seem like there was much to them but I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. However, they might just be best for catering and not for a sit down experience based on other reviews but I’ll have to experience myself to get a true feeling.

Do NOT go to Memaw’s for breakfast. The sausage? Raw. The bacon? Fatty. The pancakes? Raw. The only thing up to par was the toast, which I could have improved on in my own kitchen. Do yourself a favor and dine at home or at a place which actually specializes in breakfast dining.

I wrote a letter to the owner telling him about our visit there on Memorial Day about the food being great but the service suffering that night because Mary was stretched too thin, and two of her coworkers were a drag to her. He courteously replied a few days later. For the most part, the steak is so good that my husband says it’s better than the steak house’s down the street… yes, Memaw’s steak is THAT good. The pulled pork sandwich, fried shrimp and baked beans are also high recommendations. You haven’t had Southern sweetness yet if you haven’t tried their sweet tea. Steak = good enough; sweet tea = BEST; Service = :~o
