Me and my girlfriend just finished eating here and are very happy we stopped by. The place was packed but didn’t affect the speed of service. Our waitress was very friendly and the blackened grouper samich was AMAZING! We will definitely be coming back.

I love this place, live music, great food and an awesome staff! I know visitors probably want sea food and they have the best, but they also have the best ribs in Florida! A good amount of beers on tap and a bunch more in bottles. Check this place out, you wont be disappointed.

Love this place. Why were we not here before??? We love leaving the beach and having a fun place to have a late lunch. The grouper was outstanding. I had the coconut shrimp and I would have to say they were the best I have had since my last trip to KW. The selection of beer on tap is great and even though the live music wasn’t the greatest, it was still fun. I even took a hula hoop and showed the kids how to do it… the«old» lady still has it!!!

We were looking for a cozy place with a beach atmosphere and ran across PJs. They have an awesome tiki kind of a vibe with the grass hut roof, a live band, bar, outdoor /covered seating, and a pretty good menu. I had the muscles – YUM! These guys were delicious, the service was good, the live music was tasteful and not overbearing. It was a great relaxing and tasty experience.

Took friends here while they were visiting from out of town, big mistake. I heard such great things about this place but unfortunately I was let down. One of the people we were eating with had two things wrong the drink and part of the main meal. Also one person ordered scallop pasta and the scallops were under done. The food was mediocre at best and the waitress was awful. She was more concerned with the«regulars» then with our table. Big let down won’t be back anytime soon.

Great Florida grouper sandwich as usual. Great atmosphere outside with live music under the fans.

My wife and I were here for a late lunch on a Thursday and were able to get a table right away. I started with the buffalo shrimp, and they were good, but there were too few for the price. My wife had the Chicago style oysters and enjoyed them. She also ordered the fried clams, but thought they were underdone. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo with linguine and was not impressed. The sauce almost seemed«canned» to me. The Key Lime pie, though, was rather good. The best I’ve had since Key West. Overall however, we felt the food was just ok. It was a little disappointing because we had been to their former location several years back and had thought the food was excellent, even if the place was tiny and jammed packed. But, the new place does look like it would be fun for happy hour and the service was fantastic.

Have to say we were very disappointed in this restaurant. We had driven by several times and thought it looked fun. The blackened grouper sandwich was very good — but that’s the only positive we had. We ordered clamstrips and they were under cooked and soggy. We should have sent them back but we’re heading to a friends home and didn’t want to be late. Both meals came with French fries, which were also undercooked and soggy. The service was mediocre, one of the cooks actually delivered our meals as the waitress was no where to be found. Indian Rocks has so many excellent restaurants, I would suggest trying someplace else.

Went to JD’S today, love the atmosphere, easy beachy, had Chicago style baked oysters and were great. Fun place.

I’ve been going here for 20+ years, more out of habit than because of the food. They have lots of fried seafood dishes to choose from, not a lot of fresh fish save for the grouper and tuna; the grouper sandwich never disappoints. Their oysters are also always good and the cocktail sauce is tangy. Scallops and lobster tend to be overcooked. The portions of the side salad keep getting smaller and the«loaded» baked potato is a slice of cheese melted on top of a tiny portion of bacon. The«specials» have had the same things on them for the last 5 years … They really just need to add the crab stuffed flounder to the menu already. On the plus side — mixed drinks are good and the prices of beers are great. I enjoy the live music and the enhanced waiting area outside(don’t go anytime between 5 – 6:30 and expect to be seated quickly). Not as good as it used to be, which is odd from only moving across the street, but maybe it’s because it’s larger and volume is higher, so there’s less quality control.

This place is fun. The food is good and the atmosphere is perfect for a beach place. I really miss the old place I have to admit. They have the best cocktail sauce I’ve ever had! I fill up on cocktail sauce and saltines before the food comes!

I am from Chicago and they have some of the biggest and freshest oysters I have ate. Pretty delicious. I sat at the bar because the place was super packed and that was on a Monday the bartenders we very quick on there feet and attentive. I asked them how long have they been in the business and they said 40years.

This place has lots of potential thanks to the location near the beach and vacation spots, plus the set-up is just right for a fun meal served inside or on the patio with the live music. But, I think the food needs some help. Everything was okay, but nothing has tugged on us to return for a second helping. My Seafood Gumbo was pretty good, and loaded with goodies that made me think the rest of the meal would follow suit. It didn’t. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer had zero taste. The Hush Puppies were overdone with nothing left but the crunch. My wife ordered the Crab cake dinner, and my daughter and I had Grouper Sandwiches. The portions of the entrees were very good, but everything was missing a much-needed taste of fresh seafood. Not that the food was carelessly prepared, it all just needed a kick of some spice, something to interest the customer to take another bite or return for another meal. Almost there, folks, but shake it up a little bit, and the food will rival so many of your nearby competitors.

We love this place! Excellent and attentive service from our server John. Tipped him 20%! Food was delicious! I had the Tuna Caesar Salad rare, my compliments to the chef, my tuna melted in my mouth. Oysters Chicago style on point as always. My sons Pj burger was medium and cooked perfectly. Thank you again PJ’s for top notch service all around!

Not as good as it used to be since they moved to the new location. Still. Good place for Stone Crabs and key lime though.

I started to love this place years ago when my mom lived down the street. If you wanted great local seafood, this was and is still the place to go in this area. They are much bigger than when they were across the street but managed to bring the small time quality with them. My favorite is a pound of steamed«fresh shrimp» with an ice cold beer. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with what ever is on the menu.

PJ’s has some of the best seafood in Pinellas County! We’re in Florida every year for a month, and we eat at PJ’s 8+ times before we leave. Our family can’t get enough. It’s my families #1 choice in Florida, but 2nd for me behind only Crabby Bills. PJ’s has some great seafood. Good shrimp, oysters, etc. I just slammed a pound of crab legs which were amazing! They also have arguably the best grouper sandwich in the county. I recommend crab legs or the grouper, and the Philly cheesesteak or cheeseburger for land lovers. Their chicken tenders are pretty good and they may have the best French fries I’ve ever had.

On our way to the beach it caught our eye and figured we’d try it. Nice atmosphere, great service. We tried the crab legs. Nothing I hate more than soggy crab legs and those were not. Perfectly cooked, easy to crack, not too salty. Very very good. The cold slaw was dry and not good, but didn’t care after those crab legs. Also tried Key Lime pie which was surprisingly good though awkwardly enough a bit salty. Either way, we’ll be back.

It moved to new location across the street, on the South side of Walsingham. This is my daughter’s favorite place for oysters. She loves the Chicago Style Oysters. We got there at least twice a month for«Oyster Friday», my daughter’s designated day. They just relocated south of Walsingham from their old location. A much needed improvement. The inside of the restaurant is three times the size of their old one with enhanced climate control. It has an open loft style with exposed ceiling and funky cars coming out of the wall along with their usual abrasive, smart ass sayings on the wall and of course, their parrot, PJ. They’ve also added an outdoor patio with live entertainment. It’s hopping with a location that screams typical Florida fun, fun, fun. Love it. They did a great job on the patio and the restaurant. The parking lot is way too small for a Friday and Saturday night, especially between 5−7pm. Good luck finding a spot. The menu is the same. It’s really just OK bar food type of menu. My son loves their scallops and they do a good job with that. I personally think they could use a revamp of their menu and now that they’re in a bigger location, focusing on enhancing their fish preparations and selections. I’m not a huge fan of their food but gave it four stars because my daughter loves their oysters so much.
