Consistently great beer choice. I had a pale and a winter ale tonight that were perfect. The light traveler panini was delicious. Fire on the mountain app pairs well with any beer.

You’re stupid if you don’t like this place. How often do you go somewhere where the owner and his wife are wiping down tables and serving food on a Friday night? Amazing food, amazing service, can’t wait to go back

Pilsners aren’t on the top of most beer snobs wishlists nowadays (Double IPAs, anyone?) because the big 3 macros produce millions of barrels of them every year. Craft breweries tend to shy away from them for this reason. However, Chilly Water does not. And they make a pretty magnificent one. It’s crisp and refreshing and exactly what you want from a beer sometime.

The beer here is very good and they are always rotating new ones in and out of the lineup. The atmosphere and live music are so-​so. Others have said similar things. This is one of many breweries/​meaderies/​distilleries/​brewpubs in the area, and I frequent a lot of them. In general I find myself coming here for a drink or two, but not necessarily spending a whole day or evening there — for that, I typically turn to Rathskeller, Fountain Square Brewery, or Silver Circle.

I live around the corner from this place. I love the beer. They always seem to have some great dark beers and a decent IPA on tap. Their bar service is quick. The different types of hummus are really good, but it isn’t a place you’d go for dinner. I’d say it’s a great place for a drinking snack.
Definitely check this place out. Their beer is excellent and their atmosphere is great.

The location with its patio is clutch and the beer is good but I recommend you sit at the bar because both servers I had were inattentive and didnt seem to want to be there. The food is lame. The hummus isnt bad if you need a snack with your beer but with so many great restaurants near by dont plan on going here for a real meal.

I have been to Chilly Water 3 – 4 times now, and only this last time did I really get food. I quickly found that I have been missing out by not doing so sooner. The panini’s that my girlfriend and I tried were both delicious! She got the grilled cheese one and I got the beef. We both got the delectable potato salad as our side. We tried the spicy dipping sauce as an appetizer. The veggies that came with it were very fresh and the pita warm. The dip itself was not what I expected, but in a good way. It had a unique texture that led to it being kind of gritty feeling, but not gritty after the fact. It was a great recommendation by our server AJ (I think that was her name). The food was very filling and well worth the $ 9 for the panini and $ 6 for the appetizer.
I really like their Harvest Moon Ale right now. I am a big fan of seasonal beers, and pumpkin beers in particular. Their Harvest Ale is their spin on a fall seasonal and it is delicious!
The only reason that I do not give this a 5 star review is that I just don’t like some of the beers. I am a fan of almost any beer as long as it’s not a sour. Some of their IPAs and Pale Ales were just not tasty to me.
There location is good for people watching if you want to sit outside along the cultural trail leading to Fountain Square. They have some tvs inside for sports watching. I like the atmosphere.
It’s a good place to hangout and they have pint and growler specials on Wednesdays! I think $ 3.75 for any pint was the deal and $ 7 growler fills. Try some of Skip’s balls, they are a tasty treat.

I think this is one of the best recently opened breweries in Indy. There are so many popping up everywhere, and many of them just don’t seem that great to me. Either they’re not serving their own beers, food isn’t good, atmosphere is off — well, Chilly Water debunks all of those.
I like Chilly Water’s location and their patio. The inside is nice too, although you can’t beat sitting on their patio and people watching on the Cultural Trail on a nice day.
Every beer that I’ve tried has been good, as has all of their food. Their hummus plates are so yummy and is a little different choice for an appetizer at a brewery. Much better than the normal nachos, breadsticks or mozzarella sticks that are normally prevalent at a brewery/​bar. I’ve tried their grilled cheese panini which was also really good, but pretty heavy. Lots of cheese as well as an aioli that causes you to be very full very quickly. Their cookie dough balls should also not be missed.
I really like Chilly Water as they seem to have their act together. I’ll definitely be back!

Well, I waited almost exactly a year to go back to Chilly Water after a less than stellar first experience. They have just won a ton of awards for their beer, so I figured it was time to give them another shot. I’m glad I did!
We had two flights, so we got to sample all of their beers. While nothing was really knock-​me-​over-​with-​a-​feather amazing, all their offerings were solid at worst, and pretty darn good on the better end. We also got a hummus plate (the one with peppers and feta) and it definitely did not disappoint.
The service issues from last time were totally non-​existent. Quick, friendly, and competent. After today, I’d say Chilly Water is definitely back on the map as a good spot for an afternoon beverage.

I really enjoyed my IPA and the staff seemed really nice. The bar has a sports pub feel to it rather than a craft beer emporium style. Food looked good, but we had already ate so I can’t say much about that.

Cool outdoor seating? Check. Great access to the Cultural Trail and Pacers Bikeshare? Check. Award-​winning beers? Of course.
Chilly Water is a cool spot in the new construction area along Virginia Avenue in Fletcher Place. This neighborhood has really taken off in the last year, and it was only a matter of time before a brewery found its way here.
The venue and location are what makes this wonderful Indy brewery stand out.

I’ve been here 5 – 6 times and the only disadvantage to this place is it’s a bit expensive. But even that’s a stretch because I’m only thinking like a $ 1-​$ 2 price reduction on most of their items.
Reasons I love it: Wonderful location on the cultural trail, a short bike ride from my home, dog friendly patio, wonderful food, and wonderful beer. What’s not to love?! The staff is always attentive and friendly as well. None of their beers blow me away but they are all pretty good, I haven’t had one yet that made me say, «yuck!» I’m becoming quite the craft beer snob so that’s a huge accomplishment. If I were to recommend certain beers, the sweet revenge pale and the IPA are my go to beers there.
Now for the food. I’m still working my way through their menu but the rule of thumb… the paninis are delicious! The ring of fire is my favorite so far. I hear wonderful things about the humus and cake balls but I’m always to full to try either. I need to go simply for an appetizer and desert sometime…

I came here on a Friday night with friends. The beer was the quality of a typical microbrewery (three Floyds, two deep, etc.), which I love. There was a guy playing guitar who was talented, but it was way too loud. My friends and I ended up yelling at each other in order to talk.
The wait staff were excellent. Friendly and responsive to our every need.
Besides being a fairly typical brewery, I probably won’t come back because they served me my last beer in a plastic cup. I asked for a glass and they had «run out». I was suprised when the bil came and they did not even give me a discount for the beer. I was expecting one because the plastic cup appeared to be smaller (12 oz instead of 16 oz) and it was PLASTIC. Disappointing.

Am I the only one that wasn’t impressed by this place?
I ordered the flight of sample beers and a vegetarian sandwich. The sandwich tasted like something I could make at my place and the beer didn’t stand out at all. The only one that was memorable was the banana-​infused one but that wasn’t enough to get me to go back to the place.
The only thing I liked was the patio is right on the cultural trail so it’s great people watching! Other than that, wouldn’t recommend it anything other than a «good» or «mediocre» brewery in town with a good patio for people watching.

Well after a long Thursday getting equipment stuck in the sand (once again), had a nap then was back on my bike once again starving for some tasty bar food. I’ve ridden by this place multiple times, and have read good reviews, plus I’m a sucker for new breweries. The original plan was to grab a couple and a meaty sandwich, but given that it was nearly 9 pm on a weekday I decided to abstain. (See mom, I can be responsible.)
Anyway the outdoor seating area was busy, but since there was a reds game on and realized they had two tv back behind the bar, I quickly sidled up and quickly asked the bartender to flip over to FS Indiana to catch the last of the reds. The bartender was very friendly and I asked her recommendation, which she recommended, without hesitation, «The race is on» — Sliced beef, cheddar, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and horseradish sauce on a Dutch crunch loaf. I love horseradish almost as much as wasabi (which are cousins by the way) so the race WAS on. I ordered an iced tea to go with it.
When the sandwich came out it was so hot with melted cheese and horseradish flowing over the edges and from that point knew it was going to be an orgy for the senses. The sandwich was flavorful, cheesy, salty, spicy, and gives you that nose burn that can only come from horseradish. The bartender asked how my sandwich was and I muddled an «gwraet» with a mouth full of food. Also came with a huge half plate of kettle chips that I couldn’t finish due to the girth of the sandwich.
While I was waiting I observed the tap board and my one regret that it was a school night because I would have torn it up. 6 taps, home brew growlers are 5 bucks for empties and 10 dollar fill ups! That’s a bargain considering pints are over $ 6. Great meal, decent service, and I will return with my appetite, and my own gastrointestinal growler next time. Keep it up so I can come back!

I’m updating my review for Chilly Water from 4 stars to 5 stars because I can’t think of one good reason to reserve that 5^th star! I visit very regularly and although the menu and beer list have changed and are regularly updated, the food and beer are consistently tasty and impressive while still offered at a fair price. The playlist is always good and sometimes there’s even a live band. Service is always friendly and welcoming. Recently, they’ve changed their menu offerings to be more seasonally appropriate. The hummus is now served with an assortment of fresh veggies along with the warm pita. The IPA now offered (One Hop Wonder) is still hoppy but a bit lighter and more easy drinking for summer. The patio along the cultural trail is open and always packed on warm evenings. I LOVE this place. What more could one want from a neighborhood brewery?

Chilly Water is becoming one of my favorite places to grab a beer. Their outdoor patio is right on the Cultural Trail and gives you ample people-​watching opportunities. Live music is a regular occurrence, but sitting outside you can still hear the music while having a conversation with your friends.
The outdoor patio has covered areas too. I haven’t been there when it’s been raining, but I suspect that you can still sit outside while it’s raining without getting wet. Inside seems a little small, so having this space is important.
Out of the breweries popping up all over the city, this is one worth checking out! Great beer, excellent food and outstanding service. consistently.

With all of the breweries popping up in Indy, it’s hard to know who you can trust for good beer and grub.
I had a similar experience to fellow Unilocaler Krysha M. and tried the house chili (turkey + beans) while my boyfriend got a panini that from first look made me wish I had ordered his instead. Had the chili had some spice to it, I probably would have enjoyed it. Luckily, bites of his Ring of Fire (that bread was money) and the Little Red Rooster Hummus brought me back to a place of YUM.
Speaking of YUM, that was my reaction to my flight of beers. There was a good variety to choose from, the beers all had their own flavor profile, and they had easy drinkability. Although my beer motto is usually, «The more hops the better», my favorite beer was the Ventura Highway California Common, a type I haven’t really seen in breweries. This is definitely a place I want to check out again as the patio become available during the warmer months.

Consistently good beer and food. I appreciate that they typically have a wide variety of beer styles on tap. My favorites have been the Oktoberfest, Dunkel, and Cream Stout. As far as food, they pretty much stick to panini’s and hummus, but they are good at that. My favorite panini is the Travelin’ Light with the Little Red Rooster sriracha hummus. I’ve also tried the Tangled Up in Cheese — whoa, too much cheese even for me. I’ve had Skip’s Balls (heh) for dessert, and they are delicious. One was definitely enough for me though because they are so rich.
I love the location, right in Fletcher Place on the Cultural Trail. Bike racks up front and great windows for people watching. The only issue I wish they would address it that it can get pretty busy here at night and on the weekends, and seating is a free for all. This would be fine if the space were set up like a bar. However, it’s set up more like a restaurant so there’s nowhere to stand and not get in the way of the servers and nowhere to set down a beer or especially a sampler. You end up just hovering around awkwardly. Unfortunately, it’s also 21+ only.
