As I entered Potbelly Sandwich Works I was greeted with a warming smile and a proper greeting. The place had a nice subtle classic tone to it. Along with some very cool rock n’ roll décor behind the counter. The menu was easy enough to navigate and having the calories per sandwich under each sandwich was a nice touch. The cashier and sandwich chef were both very friendly when I ordered and when I told them what all I wanted on my sandwich. The price of the sandwich was fair though if you’re looking to get a lot of bang for your buck I would recommend Jimmy Johns or Subway. As for the sandwich it’s self I got a chicken salad sandwich on wheat bread. One of my only complaints was that there was no flat bread option which to me was a little bit of a bummer. The place was very clean overall, it was a smaller site so I would hope that they would be able tot maintain it. With it being a smaller space there was a lack of tables as I was not able to sit and enjoy my sandwich in the sub shop. Overall I would recommend Potbelly I think the pros out weigh the cons in the end.

I tried the Italian sandwich and it was delicious. It reminded me of the original sandwich at Schlotzsky’s Deli, minus a drive to Ohio. I’ll go back for sure!

I’m always resistant to rate 5 stars, but this place is really good and the staff is incredible. We went there while looking at Monument Circle Lights and they were crowded, but service was quick, professional and very personal. He let me taste the meats that were on my sandwich. I had the Italian and it was so good. Cool atmosphere as well. Also, try the coffee milkshake as well. It’s good.

Good sandwiches. Very nice staff. Nice and clean. Cut thin sandwiches make the bread thinner, which is a nice offer. I love the books on shelves and cases. Lots of pictures and banners. It’s not as tacky as Fridays, though. I’ll come back before I go home to Florida.

Not to much to say they got the sandwich thing down!!. Also the baked goods are the truth. What closed the deal for me is I can get a NANTUCKET!!!

Well when you walk in it has a smoky ambiance, I take it, it’s for show because none of the meats can possibly be fresh cooked. I got the«a wreck» and the meats are not fresh cooked. The sandwich itself was quite small maybe 7in. Price was ok. And the flavor was good enough that I did finish it. Just disappointed that it’s not all fresh meats. Would I come back, probably not. Would recommend if you are looking for a step up from Quiznos. Only because of the music based décor

First time here! The Mediterranean sandwich with chicken was exactly what I needed. The hot peppers were a perfect blend of spicy hot, and the artichokes were nicely quartered. Would recommend.

My boyfriend adores Potbelly Subs, and normally he thinks they can’t do wrong, but when we came to this store during a trip downtown it was a mess. His sandwich was completely subpar, and the avocado on my sandwich(which I paid extra for) was so under ripe that there was seriously pit stuck to a chunk that was like biting into celery. It was disgusting. I may go back to a Potbelly Subs restaurant again, but I don’t think it will be the one on Monument Circle.

If you want a boring old sandwich, don’t go here. This is not subway or JJ. Instead you get a hot fresh sandwich loaded with meat and veggies of your choice. I’ve had 2 different sandwiches here and can’t pick a favorite. The wreck and the grilled chicken and cheddar are both outstanding. No matter what you get, the hot peppers are a MUST! They are spicy and sweet but not toooooo hot. This is my favorite sandwich shop

One block from my hotel was this sandwich shop. Always a good crowd. So I stopped in and ordered an Italian Sandwich. Lots of choices of toppings. Toasted, which was nice. About a 6 inch bun, white or whole wheat. Sandwich was wonderful. I also ordered a whole dill pickle, cut into quarters. Very crisp, tasty and large. Service was fast — would give Jimmy Johns a run. Friendly service, lots of people working. Some seating inside and out. Very pleased.

Had potbelly catered in for a meeting this afternoon. The sandwiches are very good and the salad is excellent!!! It’s located on the circle downtown which makes it super convenient. There is this hot pepper mix that can be added to the sandwiches which is a MUST if you like things spicy. The other awesomely bad things are their cookies!!! The oatmeal chocolate chip is dangerous! You should try them :)

I believe in the hype of Potbelly. This sandwich place is in a great location right off Monument Circle. It’s perfect for the working crowd downtown and is a favorite of mine for lunch. Although its not a particularly innovative concept,(I mean, we’ve all had Jimmy John’s, Quizno’s and countless other subs in our lifetimes) I personally think the food is of greater quality here than Subway, Jimmy John’s, etc. I like that you have the option of ordering«lite» bread, so there aren’t as many carbs in that sandwich. I’ve really enjoyed both the chicken salad and the Mediterranean sandwiches. I haven’t really branched out because both of those are so good. Definitely want to try others. Maybe next time! I typically get everything on the sandwich — the hot peppers are no joke. But oh so good. I recently discovered this location delivers within a 10 block radius of the shop, and, since I live downtown now, I will definitely take advantage of this on the weekends when I’m too«tired» from the night before to attempt to venture out to find food. It does get pretty crowded in here during the lunch hour — I’ve seen lines out the door before, but I think the staff does a great job of keeping things moving by taking orders while you wait in line. Also, seating is pretty limited. If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat inside, I’d take it. I typically avoid this place during the winter for that reason, and instead wait until I can take my sandwich and eat it on the Circle steps on a sunny summer day.

I love this place. The menu is concise but balanced. I can not name anything I have had there that I do not like. And the pepper relish is awesome on ever sandwich so I bought some and ended up eating it on salad and pizza. Highly recommended

Between classes today I got to enjoy one of my favorite sub shops! I love this place and I am never disappointed. It sits right on the circle and you get to watch the city zoom by while enjoying your meal. It isn’t pricey and you always get what you pay for. They have a wide variety of toppings and their service is quick. The shop has an urban style feel with a plethora of pictures, books, and posters. It is walking distance from the mall; so If you find yourself famished from shopping pop over to Potbelly’s for a delicious sub, salad, or soup!

I moved to the downtown this past Saturday. I couldn’t leave my place since I was unpacking and needed something tasteful and quick to deliver — other than Jimmy Johns. So I order Potbelly Sandwitches. It never gets old, it just reminds me of the first time I had them when I was at Dulles International Airport. We all got the turkey sandwitches, plus and minus on the greens and dreesings. Once again, thanks for making my day Potbelly!

I’ve heard about Potbelly for a while. Each time I come to Indy for business, it’s usually one of the first places people mention for lunch. For whatever reason, it just never materialized. On a recent business trip, it came up again and I made sure we tried it out. While I think the food was good, it wasn’t worth the hype. I had the A Wreck sandwich(Salami, roast beef, turkey & ham with Swiss cheese) with all the trimmings(lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, hot peppers, onion, oil and italian seasoning) on multigrain wheat bread. The sandwich itself was really good, but nothing that would knock my socks off(as others have described it). Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich, but it wouldn’t rank in my top 10 sandwiches. I also had the broccoli cheddar soup which was pretty decent as well. I also had a couple bites of the sugar cookie(baked fresh everyday) my friend got. I must say that was really good. Service was quick and friendly. I would certainly visit again to try another sandwich.

What a lovely place! Decided to give this place a try after several people told me how great it was… and they weren’t lying. The place itself is very unique and full of all sorts of stuff. Orders are taken on the far left side of the counter. After examining the menu I ordered. There were two people behind the counter, a guy and a girl. IDK if the girl was new, or just given a hard time by the guy, but either way the dynamic between the two was energetic and fun. After our sandwiches made a pass through the toaster we added our toppings and went along with our day. Before selecting a seat outside(it was a beautiful fall day) we commented on how inexpensive our meal was. $ 17 for two people is amazing… especially when we are used to paying $ 25+ elsewhere. The food was absolutely delicious. Made me happy… and really that’s what’s important. Good flavor and great value! The place itself is clean, bright(huge windows overlooking monument circle), and plenty of places to sit. They do have a small section outside to sit as well(clearly as it was mentioned above). They do offer other items than a sandwich, such as smoothies, soup, and I believe even salads. They do have some baked goods at the counter as well. Its a great little place and I’m sure that I’ll be back again.

Simple toasty sandwiches – busy atmosphere. There’s your stereotypical sandwich line for ordering, a bit too quick for my liking but they get the job done. I got some sort of chicken melt with lettuce and their HOTPEPPERSAREADDICTING!!! Soooo tasty. But also they offer bike delivery for those in the downtown area – go check it out! I’ve yet to be disappointed with their catering since my company get their catering ALLTHETIME. So if you’re tired of Jimmy Johns or Subway, Potbelly is a GREAT alternative!

August is a big month in my business. And by big, I mean often painful, disheartening, exhausting, and tense. Labor day is the turning point, the signal the worst of it is over.(The good news is the other 11 months are never as difficult, often a good time.) To celebrate leaving the worst of the worst behind, I ordered in lunch for my department. I’m a big fan of feeding these people. I do it as often as possible. I’d heard wonderful things about Potbelly’s from many people in the department and thought it would be a nice change from the regular go-to places I’ve used in the past. Reviews were mixed. I ordered a sampling of virtually the entire menu. It’s a big group. I personally had half of the Italian and half of the smoked ham. They were alright. Pretty basic as far as sandwich fare if you ask me. I wasn’t crazy about the bread, which is strange because I’m a carboholic. I gravitate to anything bready, all types. Luckily for me, I married a man who bakes perfect bread of all kinds. Yeah, I’m that spoiled. But Potbelly, this bread just didn’t do it for me for some reason. The salad is a very different story. I ordered the Uptown Salad with Potbelly Dressing — it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Delicious. Fresh. Perfect balance of flavors. I absolutely loved it. Many others opted for the balsamic dressing and gave it rave reviews. The salad was the big hit of the meal, definitely. Potbelly’s fell right down the middle for me. Chances are, I won’t be ordering this for my group again. The reaction was just too lukewarm. I would definitely be up for trying more of their salads, however. If I’m in the area, I’ll stop in but I won’t be making special trips just yet. Who knows? Maybe a few more of those spectacular salads will start regular cravings!

Came here for lunch for the first time ever yesterday out of the single desire of wanting to eat cheap and near the circle. Upon review of the menu online, we accepted the mission of experience Potbelly. Considering it was lunch time, I was thoroughly impressed with how quickly they moved us through the line. I went with the chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread with mayo(because you can never get enough mayo) and pickles. The sandwich was delightful, and I’m pretty sure I fell into a food trance while eating it because suddenly I looked down and it was gone. If parking was a little bit easier, this would definitely be in my weekly lunch rotation… but alas I will save this for times I’m willing to drive around until a magical parking spot opens up with my name on it.
