This is my winter devour downtown attempt 2 and it was a much better experience. The restaurant has a nice ambience with exposed brick. We ordered off the devour menu and holy crap it’s so much food. The deal is a $ 19 meal which includes 1 entrée with a choice of two breads, FOUR sides, and a dessert. It felt like 7 course meal. All of us ended up taking plenty of food home. The food itself was delicious too. I ordered the walleye, the pear salad, chicken tortilla soup, mashed potatoes, green beans, and the peanut butter pie. I feel like I just listed their menu instead of what I ordered. Anyways everything was good. Their most popular dishes is the walleye and their fried chicken. I will be back in the future.

I’ve ordered take out from here once. I got some kind of stir fry. When I got back to my place, I found out that the food was BURNT. I’m sorry but you have to have a pretty bad kitchen staff in order to burn a plate and even worse to let a burnt plate get served. This place gets a well– deserved one star.

I was so excited to find a Sahm’s downtown. I have to say for a Thursday night on a campus it was dead, but I’m not sure if IUPUI students are less than the traditional student like I was on a thirsty Thursday. Nonetheless, they had appetizers for $ 2.99 after 9pm, which I was able to take advantage of. Since I didn’t want a large meal I was able to get a fish taco and some«shrimp cigars». It was pretty good but I have to say that the giant piece of fish in my taco was just completely overdone in breading. So I would have to ask them to maybe take that down a notch. Otherwise the atmosphere was great, so was the service and the food was hot and fresh.

We were downtown and wanted to grab a late dinner before heading back to Westfield. I saw Sahm’s glowing across the parking lot and said«Wife, we love Sahm’s and we’ve never gone to this location… let’s go!» We sat in a booth at the bar that was very cozy. They had a special going on for appetizers after a certain time so we ordered a few of those and I ordered the meatloaf sandwich, I’ve said it before in a previous review about another Sahm’s location. They can do no wrong. I’m glad they didn’t jack the prices up since they have a fancy little spot in downtown Indy. It’s a perfect location… nestled between the hustle bustle and IUPUI. The servers were nice. A little slow in the beginning but hey… it was late and I am sure they were busting their tales all evening. Next time we are downtown or if I have a business meeting downtown I will be heading to Sahm’s. OOOOH and FREEPARKING! Can’t beat that!

I’m a sucker for any local foo joint with an extensive beer list. I went for my first time on a Wednesday afternoon so there was plenty of open tables. I had the Ham & Cheese Hoagie for lunch with a side of chili, basically the perfect meal for a December afternoon. The staff was very helpful and polite when making recommendations for both food and beer. I’ll definitely be going back!

I came to Sahm’s on a Sunday morning with a couple of regulars and when they kept raving about the fantastic beer selection and the incredible brunch menu they have on weekends, I knew I was in for something special. We seated ourselves and were given menus right away. I was impressed with how many brunch options there were, on top of an extensive everyday menu as well. The two others that I was with were giving me lots of advice on what to order and what they’ve had, which was almost everything so I knew that whatever I chose would be really good. I ended up getting the egg sandwich(can’t go wrong with a classic right?) and it was probably the best breakfast sandwich I had ever eaten. The bread was toasted and buttered perfectly and everything stayed in the sandwich so I wasn’t left with a bacon, egg and cheese salad at the end. I honestly thought about ordering a second one and saving it for later. I could eat that sandwich every day. I will say that the service here was subpar. The restaurant was not that busy but service was still a little slow and unhelpful — our server didn’t know what the daily beer specials were so she had to go back and check, which took an extra 10 – 15 minutes for her to come back and get our drink orders. She kept taking longer between each time she came to our table so we were there for probably an extra half hour total because we were just waiting to order.

Good local restaurant with several locations across town. The menu offers a wide variety of options from casual to more upscale options. The bar features a good tap selection of local and Midwest craft beer selections.

Devour downtown menu was awesome. We had the pork ribeye which was succulent sans the mushroom gravy. We also had the sirloin bavette cooked medium well to perfection with steak frites. Great ambiance!

Wide variety of menu choices all of which are pretty good at least the many I’ve tried. I’ve never had bad service or food here. You can’t go wrong having lunch or dinner here as there is something for everyone.

The chicken and shrimp gumbo is delicious! It has just the right amount of spice. Typically, I’m the guy who orders everything extra spicy… I’m glad I didn’t. Space is very limited, so I can imagine how busy it gets during the week. A nice size beer selection. A true tavern.

New downtown resident, so the first time I came in was about a month ago. I have been in 2 – 3 times per week since, whether it is for happy hour slider menu, a late night drink and snack, or a super quick lunch. The staff remembered me just my second time in and made me feel like I had been coming for years. The beer list is always changing and phenomenal. The patio’s view of the city makes for a great hangout with friends for a few drinks. Great food prices and portions. Super friendly regulars and staff. To repeat what many others have said in reviews… HIDDENGEM! Glad I found this place so early in my downtown living experience. Cheers!

Very good place for a late lunch. Around noon the seating is very limited so go early or late. The food is very good and fresh. They also use local vendors and have fresh cut fries with the sandwiches. Free parking and a good selection of beer also.

Great place — great happy hour with mini burgers of all sorts and really knowledgable bar tenders. Thumbs up(again).

The only disappoint is that I’ve lived down the street for over two years now and first tried this awesome spot last night. The menu had a wide variety but my favorite was the $ 2.62 menu. Was able to get an incredible Mahi taco, three hot wings, and a side salad: each under $ 3. I can’t wait to return!

There are so many cool place in Indy that it is hard to try them all. However, if you’re near Sahm’s Tavern, you’ll be glad you stopped by. The place is small, but full of regulars – which is a good sign. The bartenders are all cool and the place has a nice menu. They have decent specials as well. Soon, they will have a pizza spot next door. I hope they offer up the same menu in both spots. Pizza would totally go well with the burgers and traditional American bar fare. I’ll likely be a regular at this spot. See you there! ;)

There’s really few better spots for a Happy Hour adventure than Sahm’s Tavern. The location is convenient for most who work downtown and parking is easy. Their $ 2.62 menu that is available from both 3 – 6 pm and 9 pm — midnight every day is delicious. They have any slider you could want — the Clint Eastwood is my favorite. Wings are good too, as are the mini shrimp cigars. Sahm’s also has great daily drink specials and is especially fun for after work drinks when you can sit outside. Their Moscow Mules are my favorite — but on my last visit they were out of the copper cups. Apparantley people have been stealing them? Who knew copper was in such high demand? Their regular menu reminds me of other Sahm’s locations — wide variety of salads, entrees, sandwiches, etc. Definitely a place to check out in downtown Indy when wanting to avoid the larger crowds on event weekends or when wanting to get off the roads most travelled.

I love the sahms tavern. It’s one of the places in town where the servers know my husband and i. It’s the kind of spot with the kind of classic American food to suit any taste. Their salads are excellent, sandwiches are also great on homemade bread that is out of this world. Entrees are a mixed bag, stir frys being my personal favorite, they also do chicken well. Recently they’ve expanded the beer list and made it really local and phenomenal, but full bar with good weekly drink specials. The spots location in the Gibson building makes it packed for lunch but a great spot for dinner or weekends, as its super close to downtown but actually has a parking lot. Also, don’t miss the coffee cake. What better way to reward yourself for that salad?!

Great place for lunch or a nice dinner. They play great music in the background and it’s NOT loud. bartenders and wait staff are incredibly friendly and food is great. Try their grilled chicken sandwich and fish tacos.

I always have delicious food here. I’m eating nachos tonight. I live how each chip is loaded individually. The burgers are awesome. It’s hard to decide which side I like the best. I just recently tried the carrot curls — they are thin, crispy, salty and sweet. Parking is easy too which us always a bonus when you come downtown.

Love this little place! Whether you’re looking for a quick café lunch, a carry-out order that’s actually delicious, or a sit-down meal, Sahm’s is one of the most underrated places downtown. First of all, free parking right downtown. Secondly, super cheap lunch specials that are both delicious and filling. Personally, I adore the fish tacos(possibly my favorite in the city) and that meatloaf melt sandwich. Omg. Delicious! And so cheap! Had a lunch special today for $ 5.99. Every time I bring someone here, they love it, too. I also love that their sides are tasty and also healthy. Sure, you can have seasoned fries, but for no additional charge with my lunch special today, I had sides of watermelon and cottage cheese or pasta salad. A small thing, but it’s absence drives me nuts! I have lunch meetings or quick lunches in the take-a-number café, and for more private lunches, I try to snag one of the booths in the Tavern. This place can get busy!
