Let me start by saying I am addicted to Chinese food. Wherever I travel I always try to eat at at least one Chinese restaurant. So there we were in Indio California looking for a Chinese place, and someone suggested this one. Hands down the best Chinese food ever. They’rspecial fried rice is awesome we split mongolian beef and shrimp with vegetables. So much food we took it home and ate it the next night for dinner and still had plenty! If you are in Indio looking for Chinese food that won’t break the bank, this is the place to go.

The reviews to this place are spot on… Well, for the exception of the bad ones, but that’s why everyone forms their own opinions. I’ve only been to this restaurant one other time than today and I was thinking to myself why have I not visited this place more frequently. The food is good. It’s fresh and you know it’s fresh when you see the lady making fresh wantons on her down time. Yes, it might not be the«best» Chinese food, but it is for this valley I would say. The service was very good on our visit. The décor is outdated, but you’re there for the food so I really didn’t mind. Overall, if you are in town looking for some delicious authentic Chinese food, then this is your place to visit.

Maybe I’m a Chinese food snob, but the quality of this food is definitely sub par. I used to work at pf changs so Chinese often gets compared for me… you would think this«authentic» place would be better. I’ve eaten at this place like 5 times and every single time I’ve been disappointed. I kept telling myself«it’s in your head, this place got great Unilocal reviews.» One example; I ordered the orange chicken(which is a food staple) and got all white meat which I was charged an additional $ 2.50 for. While eating it… the texture reminded me of chicken fat. I started pulling the pieces apart and each piece was 90% fried breading 5% skin and 5% chicken.. gross! Go to Changs and look at the chicken… its actual pieces of meat! We also got chow mien which had a weird odor and not the best taste. Lastly we got mu shu chicken which had a strange flavor… Canton Bistro is a little better, pf Changs is wayyyy better!!!

The service is excellent; the food is better than average; the servings smaller than average; The amount of shrimp and chicken in the dishes is a little on the light side. Quick service, all fresh and made to order. Prices are average to below average. Overall, good value and good food.
