Ok giving, the designs look amazing but after finding out that you have to put half the deposit down and sign a contract before tasting any of the product is ridiculous. Now finding out that is $ 50 to taste the cake and then it will come off the price of your cake if you go with them. I’m sorry but if your product sucks I’m out $ 50 and it will be my loss and your gain. Just doesn’t sound right at all.

I found Diana, Nana D’s, via Unilocal and WOW!!! I sent Diana a Pinterest pic and she exceeded our expectations! We are visiting from LA&AZ and I am so thankful we found Diana. She made my nieces sweet 16 cake absolutely beautiful! Oh and… The taste… Fantastic!

My wife and i ended up here on a wim. I think it was the name(Nanas Cakery). The sandwiches were cleverly named and suprisenly good, bread couldve been toasted a bit more but overall good, we’ll b back for dessert and to sign up kids in baking class

I had heard about Nana D’s through a Co-worker and recommended it. She really loved their parfaits. So at that time of being pregnant and having cravings, I had my husband take me… Honestly, I think I should have just gone to Jack in the box for a cheesecake. I tried a parfait that looked delicious but, was nothing but short of a disappointment. Their chocolate buttercream was just too overly sweet. I know, I know… buttercream is supposed to be sweet but, this was the type of sweetness that you would take one spoonful and need a gallon of water or milk to help you out. The cream custard was mildly sweet and wasn’t too bad and the vanilla cake was ok. Don’t get me wrong, the staff were super friendly and I just wish the experience was better. Being pregnant and tasting the parfait, I would have preferred a Snickers bar to satisfy my cravings.

We ordered 2 dozen red velvet cupcakes for a bday party. They were delicious, moist, and got great compliments. The cream cheese frosting was delicious and had just the right amount of sweetness. Only thing is that they were pretty pricey.

I came back to try their red velvet cupcake, which they were out of so I got a slice of the red velvet cake instead. I really, really wish I had not… The cake was stale, crunchy, and was definately not made this morning. All the hard work they put into their cupcakes in the past was ruined because they sold me days old cake just to make a buck. You just ruined your reputation for $ 2 and you have no clue what red velvet is. I will not be back and I will be sure that others will not as well. There are enough other bakeries in the valley that do not serve stale and days old cake to their customers. You should have known better.

I have been back four times since my first visit, so I thought it would be a good idea to write another review. On two of my four trips, I bought a cupcake which was amazing. I especially loved the buttercream frosting! And the cake part was moist and very flavorful. On my next visit, I had a brownie, and it lived up to the same standards as the cream puff and the cupcake. My last two visits have been for lunch as I wanted to try some of the sandwiches. I have now had both the Roz(pastrami) and the Compa(Italian meats). The Roz was outstanding. It was served on marbled rye, and the pastrami was lean and piled high. The cole slaw that came with it was so good, and it also came with chips and a pickle. I’ve sampled almost every pastrami sandwich in Indio, and this is where I’ll go from now on when I want pastrami! The Compa was served on a wheat hoagie – you can also have it on a white hoagie or focaccia. The meat portion was generous and the pepper relish they put on it had a terrific flavor. It is also served with cole slaw, potato chips and a pickle. The staff is super friendly, and it’s fun to hang out there and watch Nana D create some amazing looking cakes! I’ll be back again soon.

I visited Nana D’s on the day they opened. I was immediately drawn in to the cool surroundings and friendly staff — Nana D’ herself was behind the counter like a general of an army of sweet confections, crispy pastries, juicy sandwiches and cool drinks. Of course my eye(guided by my tooth) went right for the sweets: the tiramisu; cannelloni; cheesecake and something else that was super chocolatey(okay, not a «sophisticated» guy here but I’m fat so I know something about food…). All were sweet and flaky and yummy… for Round 2 I’m going back for the sandwiches(I heard she added a new one or two!). Nana D’s For The Win!

Well, after my awesome experience the other day, and by coincidence(wink wink) I happened to choose a taco shop right down the street from Nana D’s. Since I was so close(as I justified to myself and my wife) I should just drop by Nana D’s and make sure the shop is doing okay. Since I was here, I might as well try a few things that I did not try last time, RIGHT? RIGHT? So since we all agree, I figured I should try some Cannoli, and a cream puff for my daughter when she gets home from school, and how about a tiramisu? Everything was wonderful, and my daughter exclaimed«that cream puff is huge!» After she ate it I asked how it was and she said«That was an exceptional, good, great cream puff» which means that was very good. The filling of the cannoli was very subtle and had great flavor. The only change I would make would be to add a thin shell of hard chocolate to the inside of the cannoli shell to keep it firm. I really think I need to do more exploring here!
