Hands down by far the best customer service I’ve ever experienced, on top of the the food is on the same level as the service. I’ve had Unilocal for three years and this is only my second review I’ve left.

Unusual menu and friendly servers. Food is tasty, service was prompt, prices reasonable. Will return.

I have been coming up and Down Indio for years never new about this hidden gem! Thanks to Unilocal100 I found out about it. Had pulled pork with tritip on French roll. Was the best I’ve ever had. Side of Macncheese was great. Customer service was the best. Happy customer service = happy customers. Definetly coming back again.

They’re not the 4^th best restaurant in the nation ~ they are easily the 3^rd best.

Some of the best food around. We were in Indio for a short stay and managed to eat here twice. Everything was soooo good. I love that they make everything from scratch and is as fresh as it gets.
The owners/​kids are just a great group of people and are really passionate about what they do. If you don’t try this place you are missing out on greatness. Order anything, you can’t go wrong!

They always make it fun and the food is the best. I love bringing new people, they feel at home and are always impressed.

Oh My Gosh, let’s just say #4 ON Unilocal’S LIST OF TOP PLACES TO EAT 2015 for a reason! It is tucked away in an Industrial lot, right off nearly the last exit in Indio off the 10 Freeway, Golfcart Dr. So it is a bit out of the way by any standards by so well worth it! There was few and far parking near the entrance of course so try and beat the lunch rush!
Walked in instantly greeted by the cashiers whom direct me towards the backside of their cooking area/​counter where the order line began. This is a deli/​Bakery so if you are looking for options, you have the option of which type of Sandwich/​Salad and or Pastry ;P They where very very busy, however the kitchen staff was extremely interactive with the line and had it moving like no other! They have a soda Machine next to a fridge cooler with all kinds of drink options (non alcoholic only) so you will not go thirsty!
I somehow magically managed to make it in on BBQ Wednesday, and am so glad I did! On Wednesday’s they offer Authentic Award Winning BBQ, Tri-​Tip, Pulled Pork, and one other item I forget all smoked yet so delicious! I had to go with BBQ being my first time I really couldn’t pass it up in case the next time I came they did not have it. I ordered the BBQ Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich on Freshly Baked Jalapeño Focaccia Bread, oh man 10/​10, and the BBQ Sandwiches come with a free side I chose Mac N’ Cheese, so fresh just baked oh man, this place has my heart! Also, a server was walking around the tables as well inquiring to needs which was perfect when I needed a to go box ;) I purchased a Cookie and Cream Tart as well as the biggest chocolate chip/​oreo brownie as well because you cannot go to a Bakery and not pick up goodies! Although because I purchased the goodies, I did not receive any free cookie for it being my first time as I hear they do. I will ask next time, no hard feelings because everything was so freaking delicious! Total came out to $ 26 with a $ 4 tip 30 Bucks, oh yeah happy customer here! Can’t wait to stop back in and try the Trump or other greats on the menu!

From the moment you walk in you feel as ease and happy. The staff is awesome and the sandwiches we enjoyed even better!
We had chicken with artichoke pesto sandwich and a veggie sandwich. Everything was fresh, and the BREAD was incredible!

TKB was voted 4^th in Unilocal’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for 2015. AGREED. This is now one of my favorite delis and places to go whenever I visit family out in Indio.
What I love most about TKB, besides the delicious sandwiches, is the family business spirit. It’s typical to walk in and be greeted with a friendly shout by Melina, one of «The Kids» and the eponym for many sandwiches (i.e. Melina’s Hotness and Melina’s Hotness pt. 2).
Their menu has a bunch of fun and playful names: The Mexican Marilyn Monroe (chicken salad, bacon, avocado with chipotle sauce), Kyra Banks (chicken salad, black olives and chipotle), The Hangover (turkey, salami, bacon, avocado, and optional chipotle sauce). I’ve never tried the chipotle sauce yet, but they testify that it is spicy and a customer favorite.
The sandwich I always get, and what I recommend to vegetarians and non-​vegetarians alike, is the Classic Veggie (all the vegetables, DOUBLE cheese, olives, pepperoncini, avocado, PESTO spread, Italian dressing, and your choice of bread) on Tomato Focaccia (plus $ 1) bread. *drool* I could even eat the tomato focaccia bread on its own, it’s so soft, fresh, and delicious! Another family favorite is the meatloaf sandwich.
TKB also offers gluten-​free bread and baked goods, ordered and enjoyed by my sister.
p. s. they usually throw in a few free cookies :) What’s not to love?

WOW. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. No joke. If you’re in the area, you HAVE to stop by. There are signs all over the restaurant indicating that it’s voted the 4^th best restaurant in the nation and I wouldn’t second-​guess it at all based on the quality of the sandwich and the friendliness of the staff.
From the moment you step foot in the door, the staff treats you like family. I could tell that the majority of the customers were regulars and all of the workers had inside jokes with them. The menu is pretty diverse… basically anything you want in a sandwich, they can make it for you.
I got an order of the Trump ($ 12) on the jalapeño bun. The sandwich has a little kick so if you can’t handle spicy, I’d suggest getting a different type of bun. With that said, I think I experienced «heaven on earth» with each bite. The chipotle sauce was BOMB and the sandwich came loaded with salami, turkey and bacon. It even comes with avocado too. Since it was my first time there, they even gave me a free cookie! There is a spacious eating area on the other side of where you order. I can imagine this place getting packed on football Sundays since they have a huge projector in the main dining area. I wish they would open up another location in LA… I would be a frequent customer.

BE READY FOR AN EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME! There I am walking in to a family owned deli that is rated 5 stars on Unilocal.I’m so excited to see what the hype is all about. As I walk through the door, I immediately get greeted and heckled and a lot regulars walk in and they are like family. It’s a really cool thing to experience. The guy at the register has a big welcome smile and eventhough he obviously is super busy, you feel like you matter.
I order my food and as I’m waiting for my sandwich, other people walk in and they are also being greeted. It’s hard to describe the staff’s one of a kind attitude, you will just have to experience for yourself.
I absolutely loooove this place!!! I’m Vegetarian and they know how to make a veggie sandwich to your liking. Honestly, the sandwich is too big to eat on my own so I saved the rest for dinner. The jalapeño foccacia bread is phenomenal, the veggies are fresh and good portions too. It is the tastiest veggie sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, no joke! I wish I ate meat just to try the other sandwiches because honestly, they look so dang delicious.
The pastries and baked goods look amazing and deliciously sweet. I had the dream bar, (OMG my mouth waters just thinking about it.) It’s the best dessert Ive ever had. Oh and I also received a free healthy morning cookie. This cookie is to die for. Sweetened by fruit and so freaking good. I highly, highly recommend this place. If they had an option of six stars, I would give them 6 ‘s.

On my last visit, I went with the Mexican Meatloaf. OMG! Generous slices of flavorful meatloaf, smothered in a spicy chipotle suace, served with all the fixings on a jalapeño roll. It may be my new favorite. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Can’t wait to go back!

This is a crazy-​busy deli will great food. The staff has a playful attitude. They have something special and they know it. This is the place to find Southern California deli classics and baked items will flare.
I needed a hardcore deli sandwich fix and the the Sexy Italian was loaded with meat and hit the spot! TKB has a great selection of deli creations or you can build one from scratch. It’s worth spending a few minutes extra to get here.
Bonus star for being an unexpected/​hidden gem.
