Shakey’s Pizza Parlor

Shakey’s pizza at Indio, Ca. is not a good pizza parlor. I would rather eat little Caesars Pizza. The service was so BAD, that when I got my pizza it was already cold or more lukewarm. And the worst part of the experience was that I called in advance for convenience, and waited 15 minutes past the 10 minute cook time that I was quoted. The main reason I chose Shakey’s is because the one in my home town was very good before it closed. Shakey’s Pizza at Indio, Ca. SUCKS

Excellent Pizza I’m born and raised in Palm Springs and have been comming here my whole life. The Pizza is Excellent especially when u add avocado!

The pizza was just ‘ok’ certainly not worth the $ 92 bucks we spent. When someone spends that kind of money, that pizza should be made RIGHT, not sloppy and floppy… however Heather was such an EXCELLENT employee I wanted to pop on here and thank her. The manager was rude and angry, did not care to even acknowledge that i just spent $ 92 in his store. Heather made it worth while. She even walked the pizza to my car for me so i didnt have to make two trips. She can come work for me anytime!

Love the lunch buffet! Also great place to watch the game n have some beer! Great staff

Lacking good management structure it’s effecting the lack of real service customers deserve. I think it’s sad because it’s nowhere close to being a real Shakeys establishment.

I heard about this famous place named Shakey’s when I was really young my father talked about their famous pizza and how they originated back in the days personally I’ve never been to A Shakey’s, I’ve had many people tell me it’s a great place to go I took my family to the Shakeys in Indio a couple weeks ago me and my family walked in stood in line with nobody in front of us for about 3 minutes with the cashier working behind the counter paying us no attention keep in mind I’ve never been this restaurant don’t know the process of what to do, do we get seated, do we pick our own seat, do we order as soon as we sit down do we order at the register finally I went up to the register ask the cashier she said we order at the register so we ordered a family meal they came with chicken Pizza and and their famous potato the whole restaurant was busy bad service place was dirty soda everywhere on the floors food was not what I thought it would be definitely what the famous name I expected more from this place the nicest person in the whole place was the bartender other than that everybody had an attitude problem the games are good for the kids and fun for thats about it I’m not the one to complain but we were looking forward to having a good time and we really didn’t

About 12 of us went to eat and when we walked in the door it smelled really bad like sewer. Hopefully they will fix the problem soon.

Ugh. The entire expierence was terrible. Loud, unorganized staff. Akward layout, akward ordering process. Gross chicken. Pizza was okay but not special and therefore a bit pricy. Salad bar was dirty and sparce. We asked a waitress for marinara sauce and were told they don’t have it? Then she asked if we wanted pizza sauce instead. Then she never came back. We asked the next waitress that stumpled by if we could get a little pizza sauce, and she says «would you like marinara instead?» Perhaps it was all just becauae the location was new at the time but I don’t think that I will be going back. Ever.

First time here, way better than Palm Springs! Very clean and the service was excellent! Large tvs and arcade room is nice!

I have been to shakey’s a total of 4 times since it has opened. I like to give all new local restaurants a fair chance and I think 4 is more than generous.
For those who want the short overall version: kitchen over cooked chicken 3 out of 4 visits and messed up order 2 out of 4.
Great place if you 1) have kids 2) are heavily drunk 3) have low standards for dining out 4) you hate chuck E cheese. 5) enjoy inconsistency in your food and customer service.
Long story:
First visit: opening day, first time at this place and im not too familiar with how things work or the menu. New guy working register, doesn’t really have it down, that’s ok beacause I value friendly customer service over speed any day. Then this blond manager comes in snaps her fingers and says «you NEED to hurry it up I got a line.» Well if you have a line bring in another cashier and OPEN ANOTHER FRICKIN REGISTER or HELP HIM OUT, dont snap your fingers and give me attitude! If I wanted someone to snap at me and be rude I’d go to elsewhere. the poor guy was trying his best to help me make my stay enjoyable. Food took for ever but it was passable. Only time I got properly cooked chicken. Pizza was ok, thin and crunchy.
Look if a place has ok food but amazing customer service I’ll become loyal regular but that manager really left a sour taste in my mouth *New guy at the register, if you still work there, your the reason I gave them a second chance.
Second visit: worse than the first time, took my mom thinking she would enjoy the chicken and the mojos. I order the medium pcm. Got 4 tough breaded deep fried pieces of jerky they passed off as chicken, the mojos not much better. I ordered the salad bar and apparently they’re supposed to give you the plates at the register. Nope. It was 20 minutes before someone came to check on our table. We had no plates no napkins, but I am seeing all these other tables get taken care of. Another table sat after us. Not only did they get their food first but someone was with them within minutes. I guess some customers are just more important.
Third visit: I work for a older disabled retiree. I dont know what possesed her that day but she wanted shakey’s. I drive 20 minutes out of my way to place her to go order. Pick it up. And here is where i made my mistake. I didn’t open the box to check the food before I left. I get to her home open the pizza box and the mushroom is nonexistent. I guess I should have ordered extra mushrooms so i could at least get the regular amount. Its safe to say my employer will no longer be a patron in your establishment.
Fourth visit: the only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 is because of this visit and a specific team member. Went with a friend and their kid. Ordered about $ 60 to 70 this round. I order a large pcm, chicken strips and desert.
Found a table in the back by the games. Within no more than 5 minutes the friendliest employee I have ever come across in all my visits to this place, comes, greets us askes how may plates we would like and if we would like any ranch. I was astonished and speach less in four visits i had never gotten this level of service in this establishment. I asked her what her name was. Ginger Lynn thank you. When our food was brought out they had forgotten about our fried jerky. Ginger Lynn was on it. She apologize and went straight back to the kitchen to fix the mistake. This is the minimum standard of customer service I expected from Shakey’s.

So to upper management I’ll say this. In the four times I visited your establishment I spent well over $ 200 for shitty food and even shittier service. Think about that. I am loyal to places who have their shit together

I think you have to have taste buds of a child to actually like this food.
First time ever going to shakeys didn’t really know what to expect. I got the meal with a personal pizza, two fried chicken pieces and there potatoe things.
It took quite awhile to be delivered even though there was really no one in there. Pizza was served warm which I thought was okay tasting at first but turned out I was just really hungry. After two slices in I decided to try the other food which was all very greasy and had no flavor. I could’ve made better microwave food.

This place is the worst place I’ve ever been to. For starters the employees there don’t clean the tables you have to go and ask them at least 3 times before they do their job. We spent over an hour waiting for our order and they never got it out to us. When we asked they claimed it was the computers fault. I would not recommend this place to any one. Manager didn’t want to refund our money at first. Horrible horrible business. I wouldn’t even give them a star but had to complete post.

Chicken wings okay, thin crust pepperoni pizza tasted like cardboard with old sauce…

This place is super nice at the moment and everything looks clean there lunch buffet looks awesome for 9.99 for adults and 4.99 for kids the game room games are kind of expensive and a few of the game are broken but this place looks amazing!

This place is what we have been waiting for in Indio! Food is fantastic, friendly staff and location is great. My son and I got a pizza mojos and fried chicken. It took about 30 minutes to get our food but it was worth it.

I went for their Grand Opening on Monday and the restaurant was PACKED! It seemed like many members of the community couldn’t wait for this restaurant to open. There is a huge parking lot which was very convenient. Everything is brand new. I liked that the staff are friendly and the food is DELICIOUS. I got the lunch buffet which included all of my favorites (Pizza, chicken, mojos, salad bar, pasta bar, unlimited fountain drinks). Great deal!

Stopped for in lunch. Was able to get a lunch buffet with drink included for $ 9.99 plus tax. Pretty good lunch selection for that price. Pizza, spaghetti, chicken (fried and baked), mashed potatos, vegetables, and salad. It was the first day opening to the public so I will update my review once the corporate people are gone and we can see what the service is really like. So far, so good. My only suggestion would be that they add sliced lemons somewhere for those who want some for their water or iced tea, instead of just having lemon water in a drink dispenser.
