This bakery deserves 0 stars. My mom ordered a cake for my dads birthday, the owner Zulema took her order and guaranteed it would be as ordered. The day of the party I went to pick it up and the lady who was at the front desk told me it wasn’t ready, it would about 30 minutes. Of course I was irritated, what is the point of placing an order and pick up time of its not going to be ready?! 30 minutes go by and I ask her how much longer… Here comes Zulema from behind the kitchen and says– I’m decorating your cake right now, I’ve been behind all morning due to my knee injury, ok! She was sooo Fucken rude! I said to her, you took the order. Your knee was already injured, why would say it would be ready!!! She was yelling at me, mean while I’m thinking I can’t believe she’s the owner! Who talks to their customers this way? I asked for a refund and she did not hesitate to refund the full amount. So I went to the grocery store and bought a cake. Anyone out there wondering about this bakery, don’t waste your time!!! The WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. The bakery looks dirty, nothing is labeled and there’s never any bread on display.

The best sweet breads and pastries hidden in this tiny shop! I’ve gotta admit its in a terrible location and the interior is REALLY small but the bread it self makes up for everything. Zulema’s Bakery is located right off of La Brea Ave near Arbor Vitae right between a tire shop and a couple of other small businesses. There is no lot, or private parking, so street parking is the only way to go. There are two black doors, the right door is the correct entrance to a delightful smell of freshly baked goods. In the front counter you will find metal plates and tons so you can choose youself what pastries you want. My favorites are the mini«conchas» they have in either chocolate or vanilla. In total i bough 12 mini conchas, 2 muffins, 1 croissant, a chocolate chip bread cookie, and a bag of pistachios they had in the front available. Everything together came up to only $ 7(Cash)! The guy behind the counter was nice and we left happy with fresh bakery sweets!

Got some sweet breads for the week! So many choices, even on a Sunday. I bought about 14 and it came down to about $ 7.50! This is a no frills bakery but the sweet breads are great for a local bakery! They’re fresh and moist.

Any time there’s a steady stream of customers coming in and out a bakery on a Saturday night, it’s a pretty good indication that the place is legit. The pan dulce here is light and fluffy, delicate and crumbly on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. Suuuper good. They were still rolling out racks of warm, sugary conchas fresh from the oven when we left at 7:30pm.

This place is horrible. The cake is good but the service is terrible. Do not come here if you need a cake or a big order for a special occasion because they NEVER do anything on time. Failed on me three times. Threes time’s the charm because I will NEVER come here again. I recommend that you don’t either.

Cash Only, B health rating is what i noticed as i first walked in here. As you can see from the pics they didnt have alot of breads on hand but then again it was the end of the day when i took a look inside this place. There was also a display that should have cakes and that too was empty. They still had about 21 different kinds of mexican breads on hand but not any of the ones I like. This must be the neighborhood bakery as there were plenty of people coming in and out to buy bread. Rating: 2.7 stars
