Came here with a party of 4, service was slow, food was cold, and they didn’t have half the items we ordered. I eat hear last season and the food and service was much better

We have eaten at Woods Inn at least 5 times this summer and have had excellent fantastic food. The salmon was my favorite. The service was excellent and the owners are always so nice and friendly. Making us feel welcome and looking forward to our next visit. I can’t wait till we go again. The sunset is the best too! They ring the bell to announce the sunset!

We stayed Aug 21st and Aug 22nd and had a great stay. Friday evening we went down to the bar and had dinner. I will say the bartender was not pleasant, she was rude and had NO personality what so ever. She was so unpleasant that we didn’t want to go back to drink Saturday evening because of her and went and spent our money(7) adult somewhere else. Enough about that bartender… food was good-7 adults enjoyed there meal. The rooms are small but clean and nice. We had a room facing the lake and we had the windows open at night and we got a great breeze. I will stay here again… might skip that bar if the same bartender is working.

**Summertime review** Sitting on the deck while watching the sunset over the lake can not be beat. Dinner inside the historic Inn is always a treat too. Menu is full of local fresh fish and game, with plenty of delicious sides. I settled on a 4-star rating because it is the 5-star ambiance that lures you there but food is probably around 3-stars on it’s own. Also after dinner or late-night you can head downstair to their pub which has dart boards, a pool table, occasional live music and karaōke!

The Woods Inn has never disappointed us on our annual Autumn pilgrimage to the park. The wine selection is excellent, and we rarely have to venture far from the $ 15 bottles. Entrees have all been excellent; our party has enjoyed a variety of dishes including pork, lamb, prime rib, chicken and a number of fish options. Preparation and presentation of all meals is well worth returning for, and even the sides offer a variety of delectable choices. Somehow we always make room for a dessert — we know we shouldn’t but they’re so good! Service has always been excellent, even when they get busy, and the wait staff is very attentive and helpful both with dinner choices and any additional help that we might require. We’d certainly be there more often if we didn’t live two and a half hours away!

The Woods Inn is a wonderful old restaurant by the lake, in a lovely location suffering from some serious service & quality issues issues. Service was an issue from the start, with it talking almost 15 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us. Eric, the busboy ended up tracking one down for us, and proved to be the most competent person there.(thanks Eric) Sadly, the waitress guessed at the specials, and wasn’t sure about many of the menu items in general. After a bit more of a wait, our orders finally did arrive, albeit not correct. Sides and toppings were inexplicably missing, and without acknowledgement from the waitstaff. Not a terrible meal overall, however there are better in the area for the same price and ambiance.

Adirondack Ice Bowl. What a weekend. Great hockey. We had a party of 7, and they added the tip to the bill. The lunch menu did not mention this would be the case, so I was a bit surprised. Additionally, when we had lunch, the place was only partially full, the waitress could not remember who had what, and asked each of us. The food was good, but when two of our group ordered a plain pizza, one with sausage came out. Having told the waitress that one of the two sharing the pizza could not eat pork, she took it back to the kitchen returned a few seconds later saying could we just eat it as it, and we would not be charged for the sausage. Lunches were adjusted and we accepted the pizza, because we did not want to wait another 15 minutes for a new pizza. We had to keep asking for more water, but noticed that another table with only 3 people got their own pitcher of water… something with the wait staff was not quite right. We will return next year for the Hockey Event, but would not go to the Inn for lunch just to go.

We visit the Adirondacks often and always dine at The Woods Inn. It is our favorite restaurant. The food has always been delicious and the service always welcoming and gracious. Joedda, the owner, always makes us feel welcome to this fine old example of an Adirondack retreat. We especially enjoy the selection of affordable wines to enjoy on the porch. A trip to the Adirondacks is not complete until we enjoy the fine food, drink and gracious hospitality of the Woods Inn. Consistent in quality and a true value that complements the joyful experience of our Adirondack adventures. The Woods Inn always sends us home refreshed and resolved to return again.

If you are looking to hold an event here, don’t hold your breath. Visited with my sister after her appointment was cancelled the day before because the owner had a «family emergency» that required they leave the state. When we walked in, said owner was sitting at the front desk on the phone. Didn’t even bother hanging up, but instead sent her assistant to get our info. Not only did she not bother calling us back, but we later found out from our neighbors that she had been sitting in the Laughing Loon Tavern(which is attached to the hotel) most of the night before! Couldn’t believe how unprofessional they are. I would have given them one star just for that, but the Laughing Loon Tavern is actually an enjoyable place to go if they have entertainment. Cheap, local beer is plentiful and quite tasty.

I can only speak for the restaurant part of the Inn, but the food there is pretty great. One half of my family had the turkey dinner special, which was like having Thanksgiving in July, they both said it was excellent, turkey was tender, mashed potatoes, stuffing and green beans were cooked just right and they both really liked the $ 9.99 price tag. I had a chicken pot pie which was a decent size, could have used a bit more veggies and chicken and a little less gravy, but it wasn’t all that bad. My girlfriend had lasagna which she found to be pretty good too. Everything seemed homemade, there wasn’t any short cuts involved, which some restaurants in the Adirondacks tend to lean on if they can. The meals were all priced affordable between $ 10-$ 20. The one drawback is you don’t get a salad for that price with most meals, I would have liked that with my meal. You do get warm bread and corn bread delivered to your table when you are seated. The best part of the place is the view, the indoor porch seating looks out over 4th lake and if we were there a wee bit later we would’ve been treated to a spectacular sunset. It is decorated in many turn of the century antiques, a lot which seem to be plucked right from some of the Adirondack great camps. The Inn also has guest rooms and a tavern on site. Dress is casual, saw people in suits and guys in jeans and golf shirts.
