We had high hopes for Gather based on the reviews. The food was really tasty. We shared the patatas bravas, gumbo and roasted vegetables. But the ambiance fell short(chilly room and kind of random-not in a tasteful way-décor), and service was really friendly but really slow. And I appreciate what they are trying to do using compostable plates, but psychologically food just doesn’t taste as good on paper plates. Everything about the restaurant says nice lunch spot, not dinner, except the complex and rich flavors. I think they are new, so I would probably try them again in a year to see if they have worked the kinks out.

Gather was such a treat during my weekend away! I went to Gather on the same evening as a wine-pairing event and was able to taste delicious local wines while enjoying Gather’s amazing appetizers prepared by Chef Ed Vigil. The Gather staff was really accommodating and let us book a reservation with two hours to spare and repeatedly checked in on my party throughout the night. The event was lovely and nicely arranged and although Gather is a quaint spot, it was a very elegant and entertaining evening. The food was delicious and beautifully arranged; my favorite was a grilled cheese and sun-dried tomato sandwich as well as a scallop dish topped with Uni. We will definitely be returning soon to try their nightly dinner menu and are so happy we stumbled upon this spot while visiting Inverness!

Worth driving out to Inverness. This little boîte shares a kitchen with Perry’s Deli, a mini-Whole Foods out in the wilderness. The restaurant, with 3 or 4 tables-for-two, a couple of bar seats, and one or two communal tables, serves fresh, innovative fare created by the former Vin Antico(San Rafael) chef, Ed Vigil. Food, ambience and service are all first rate.

From the food, to the ambience, to the service, Gather is exceptional. The mood is relaxed, with upscale small plates. If you’re really lucky, you’ll encounter Zach and his flamenco guitar. If you only have one night in Point Reyes, do yourself a favor and visit Gather.

Spent a lovely evening with my friend Molly in the window seat at Gather delighting in Ed’s wonderful food. What a treat! Pradone Peppers, Patatas Bravas — you really can’t eat just one so beware. A totally scrumptious salad with watermelon and pistachios and a delightful«big plate» with ono, shrimp and octopus. Our server, Andrew was awesome — even when the place filled up we never felt neglected and our wine glasses were never empty. My only wish is I lived next door to this place.

Excellent. The service was perfect and friendly. The food was A-mazing. Among the three of us we had padron peppers, patatas bravas, and a lacinato kale/chard medley for apps, all of which we’re flavorful and perfectly cooked. The special was fried chicken that rivaled my grandmothers. I had a PBLT— pancetta, burrata, lettuce, and tomato, open faced on grilled bread. Heaven. My nephew had day boat scallops that he loved. The menu changes daily, from what I read on the website, but based on our experience, I’m pretty sure, it’s always bountiful and creative. I live in Oakland and love Pizzaiolo(entrees and sides), Baywolf, Cholita Linda, and Babite to use as a benchmark.

We had a wonderful meal at Gather last night! The food is equitable if not better than Saltwater and for a more affordable price. Portion sizes were great and the menu had a lot of tasty selections. The ambiance is also great despite being attached to a market. They did a great job decorating. Our server took great care of us. We highly recommend that you check it out!
