Looking for a quick family friendly place to eat(close to the interstate) so we stopped in Jimmy Johns. FYI… not family friendly. There are no changing tables in either the men’s or women’s restrooms. Very disappointed. I’ll go elsewhere for a sandwich next time.

My god going to this location the other day was frustrating. It was raining and they were obviously dead, I ordered my #13 and pulled up to the window. Paid and got my drink, now I am waiting on my sandwich. I notice there are nearly 8 employees goofing off and not making my order. Finally a girl comes to the window and askes me what I’m waiting for. I tell her my sandwich and she asks what it was. I nicely tell her and she walks away. Still no one is making my order(I can see the sub station from the window) 5 minutes later a guy walks up and asks if I have been waiting long, irritated I told him I was and he backed up, threw his arms up in a «wtf b*tch» fashion and turned around to tell someone to make my order. Finally when it was made, he blocked the girl like a basketball player, so she couldn’t get to the window to give me my sandwich. All I have to say is– WHEREARETHEMANAGERS?! Get your act together.

Jimmy John’s is a franchise that serves bland-wiches. That said, this particular one happens to be within walking distance of my place of employment, which is a major bonus. Also, their bread tastes fresher than the Subway across the street, and unlike Subway, they seem less committed to the idea of using a biological specimen slicer to generate their meat and cheese portions(i.e., the slices at JJ’s are more than just a few cells thick, though not by much). Bonuses aside, their store’s ambience is one major drawback. The super-LOUD music is a perpetual turn-off, as the place is decorated in the pseudo-industrial style with high ceilings, hard floors, and lots of exposed ductwork. Even for people without any autism-spectrum issues, the echo-y, half-step clashes from Daft Punk blasting off all those hard surfaces will never improve anyone’s experience of tuna on soggy bread.

Well, it finally happened. Today I ordered three subs to take out. I have always noticed that, although the employees do wear hats, some of them have an awful lot of hair. Sure enough, today my fears were realized. While eating my Number 2 sandwich with my wife and mother who is visiting, I pulled not one, but two, long brown hairs out of my mouth. Needless to say, that was a short lunch for all of us. I think it’s time for a Jimmy Johns hiatus.

I like Jimmy Johns, and have joked that the firms sandwiches in the Omaha seem better for some undefined reason. This store helped to define why. I ordered a Vito, which is your pretty basic JJ sandwich. I saw it get made, and then the sandwich artist set it aside, and started working on another sandwich, while I stood there and waited. So fast I’ll freak? Not until it makes it to my hand to eat. After she finished the second sandwich, she went for a look at the tickets. I could tell she was confused, so I asked her«Is that a #5 Vito?» to which she smiled and handed me my sandwich. Now, on to the sandwich. One of JJ’s best features is their sauce — you get it unless you don’t ask for it. This sandwich was pretty sauceless. I got the hot peppers I asked for, but she forgot to splash on the sauce. I’ve had better. At least the music referenced in the other review wasn’t as abrasive as it was. Here is my feedback to the owner if they read this: Benchmark the JJ stores on Farnam around 14th, or on Route 75 in North Omaha. This is the benchmark sandwich your store needs to make. Also note the friendly customer service at these locations — they beat your shop, hands down, no contest.

First, let me say that I LOVE Jimmy John’s sub sandwiches. They are consistently fresh tasting and really good. I have them often at different locations. We stopped at this location on a trip cross country. The guys working there were ‘classic slackers’, or at least looked that way. No big deal on that score. Whatever. can they make my sandwich good? They did and it was delicious as usual. BUT I am complaining about the music. It was heavy, very angry, very loud, rock. I’m no prude and like all kinds of music but nobody wants to eat in that environment. It was just awful… seriously awful. We asked the guy at the counter if it was programmed for their restaurant and he said no, that they could do Pandora … and play anything they liked. I want to suggest to Jimmy John’s administration that they set some parameters on the music. The restaurant was empty… and we left immediately to eat our sandwich in the car. Warning to fast food chains. and other restaurants. «DONOTLEAVETHECHOICEOFMUSICUPTOTHEYOUNGSTER… HIPSTER… SLACKERTYPESTHATWORKATYOURCOUNTER.
