Truly unique and tasty sandwiches and wraps. I had the Thai Peanut wrap. My wife had Bacon Guacamole on Ciabatta. We shared the sweet potato fries. Everything was super fresh and tasty. Enjoyed a gorgeous evening seated in the on-street patio. Highly recommend.

Nodo offers very fast and friendly service and great, fresh food — perfect for a quick lunch downtown. Cheap, quick, and delicious!

A good place to grab a unique lunch, although you will wait a long time. I really enjoy their egg and chorizo burrito. Plenty of room to get lunch in a group. My only complaint(and its a big one), is how long it takes to get your food. You really need to think of this as a sit-down restaurant where you order in a line. That will take some of the sting out of the wait.

1. Great place to grab lunch while downtown. 2. Sweet potato fries with aioli is incredible. They make these fresh. Just the perfect crispness with a beautiful color to them. You don’t get a ton of fries but they’re just the right amount with a sandwich. 3. Alcoholic drinks on the menu if you’d like some beer or wine. 4. Lots of seating. I think I’ll try out sitting on the stools near the window that look out into the street next time. 5. Staff is very friendly. Someone stopped by to ask how my meal was and helped me clean up.

Nodo Downtown is awesome! I’ve been finding myself as a regular here lately, stopping in once or twice a week for lunch. Their garlic aioli is BOMB! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, however I do admit the prices are on the higher end for their small portions. Same goes for their soups of the day(love love LOVE!) Nodo has a skylight lounge upstairs that feels just like home. This is a perfect spot to have lunch and get some small work done if you need. I’ve had nothing but good experiences here and I love the staff. They are wonderful to me every time!

Awesome spot. We found this via Unilocal search while driving through. Very glad we stopped. I had a Cuban-style sandwich with ham, bacon, pork, and pickles. Damn. Tasty. The turkey cranberry wrap and fries were great too. Nice little college town spot. Only ding? Parking was a pain to find. But it was worth the walk from a couple of blocks out.

With their $ 3.75 egg sandwich, Nodo has what’s in the mind of the reasonable and discerning the very best deal in Iowa City. The calorie per dollar is better than most half-priced candy bars, and the immaculate egg, white cheddar, and aioli on ciabatta combo is more delicious and nourishing than most things I can think of. On top of that, the service is usually excellent – kind and quick. And the menu is filled with all the best things you can get between two slices of bread. A downtown Iowa city must.

I’ve loved the little Northside spot for a long time, but this was actually my first experience at the downtown location, and it is just as marvelous. This location has a similar design, but much more space, including additional seating upstairs in the Skylight Room. It’s more hipster than Northside, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing… it just means I’ll keep taking my mom to the other one. :)(The music and vibe fits the area, so it works for me.) I branched out this time and tried the #7 Ham & Mango(smoked ham, mozzarella, and mango relish on grilled sourdough), and it was delish! Finally tried the Brew City fries and they were nice and crisp – I will definitely be getting them from now on.(Other favorites are the Egg Sandwich & the Grilled Cheese, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.) Also, I would like to give them 5 stars for service alone. They were kind and attentive, but in a laid-back way – something that’s lacking in a lot of places in the area.

First visit to this quaint restaurant. I had the C&P(corned beef and pastrami) sandwich and hubs had the beef sandwich, both serves grilled and awesome. Fries with aioli sauce were crispy, full of flavor and very good. We say upstairs where it was felt cozy on a 3 degree day. It had the feel of college town

Pros: 1. Excellent variety on the menu. 2. The C & P sandwich is my favorite, the Cole slaw is great and the dijon mustard adds just a bit of a kick. 3. Perfect location in north downtown iowa city. The patio in the warmer months is nice too. 4. Great fries, smaller with a bit of a crunch. Not mushy like some fries. 5. New skylight room is super airy and would be a great location for parties. 6. Serves LOTS of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. Cons: None!

We had the cobb wrap, chicken spinach salad, and a turkey and cheddar on sourdough. All were excellent, as was the super friendly service. Only leaving off one star because the coffee was not up to par. Overall, highly recommended!

I came here for a cookie. At 9am. Completing my random cookie tour of Iowa City, I stumbled upon Nodo and settled on a Monster Cookie. Soft, chewy, oaty, peanut buttery, and studded with chocolate and m&m’s, I chose right. While I can’t speak so much for the sandwiches that they are acclaimed for, I can vouch for some pretty stellar cookies. If their sammie skills are anywhere near their cookie baking chops, they will be damn delicious.

One of the best sandwich spots in Iowa City. The C&P is my go-to, but the soups, salads and most other sandwiches are fresh, local and delicious. Takes a little more time than most counter-order places, so this is a good spot to have lunch and a conversation with a colleague over the moon hour.

Every time I’m here I never leave disappointed. The soups are hand made, the sandwiches are always excellent and the sweet potato fries are terrific. If you are stopping by for breakfast both the burrito and sandwich are very good. Definitely my favorite sandwich place in Iowa City.

Turkey cranberry wrap a favorite. And enjoy the quiet of upstairs seating… good people watching. The staff is pleasant and efficient. Lots of options for drinks. Easy to go alone, a friend or small group. Two locations, downtown and by North Dodge Ace.

This was my first ‘what the hell, Unilocal?’ moment. You know when you find a place that makes something so well that you simply have to order it, even though it’s not something you’d normally be drawn to? That’s what multiple glowing reviews convinced me would be the case with the veggie wrap, and convinced my wife would be the case with the C&P sandwich. Off we went to Nodo one Sunday morning! Here’s the veggie wrap description: «Carrots, yellow squash, zucchini, green beans, red peppers, sprouts, carmalized red onions, spinach, fresh herbs & balsamic vinaigrette in a whole wheat wrap.» Doesn’t that sound great? I’ve made something like this at home that was REALLY good, and I, for my part, have no business being in a kitchen. Here’s how I would describe what came to our table: «Spinach and carrot strings filling a wrap, with traces of other vegetable matter upon close inspection.» I seriously couldn’t believe it. Could I guess the spinach/carrot/other veggie distribution? Maybe 47÷47÷6. Could I taste the vinaigrette, at least? Once, just barely — just enough to know, as with the veggies, that the cook had not forgotten them — the tiny helping was intentional. My wife fought to give her corned beef/pastrami sandwich a compliment sandwich, because she is generous. «The meat is tasty, but there’s not very much of it. The sandwich is… fine.» It also looked damn small to my eyes, although post-veggie wrap disappointment is no state in which to be unbiased about such matters. In three days in Iowa City, we were lucky to eat at several great restaurants, so I don’t see us returning here.

oh. my. word… the mushroom sandwich is deeelicious! I had plans of coming back to try the mushroom sandwich and I’m so glad I did! The ciabatta bun was perfect, and the ooy deliciousness of the goat cheese and aioli mixed with the buttery goodness of those sautéed mushrooms was quite heavenly. I only wish I could have eaten my sandwich in a private room because holy macaroni was it messy! Next, I need to try their homemade lemonades. Those look darn tasty.
