Great, cozy spot. Went for breakfast and it was amazing. Be ready to try a dish that you wouldn’t usually try.

I first heard about this place from a friend of mine and later followed up on the phenomenal reviews before deciding on this place for brunch. It easily rivals some of the best brunch places that I have been to for a fraction of the price. I got their special today which was their cheese and spinach quiche with home-smoked salmon which was absolutely divine. My friend got the ranchero roll with bacon, which was of similar quality. My only complaint was that the seating was a bit cramped but understandably so given how popular this restaurant is. I haven’t tried many places in Rochester yet but this place does set the bar high. Looking forward to coming for brunch again but with more friends.

My friends and I ventured out to Atlas Eats for some Sunday brunch today, and we really enjoyed it. I ended up getting the kimchi fried rice with egg and it was AHmazing! My boyfriend got the skillet which was a little less food than one would expect but was very tasty! Our friend got the burger which looked fantastic to me, very homemade looking, but he wasn’t super impressed with the sauce it was in. He may be biased since he ate the Good Luck burger last night(I know! How much beef does one need?) We came at a busy time so we waited about 20 minutes. Our server was a little personality-less but she loosened up by the end of our meal since the café pretty much emptied by then. That being said none of the staff seemed particularly happy to be there. The coffee is really bad and is $ 2.50. I’m definitely going to get something else to drink next time I go.

Finally got in to enjoy a 6 pm seating at Atlas Eats this past Friday night. I had literally tried to get in for several months with larger groups, and was lucky to get in solo for the French Country Picnic dinner. At 6 pm, the place has nice light, and if you get a seat with a view of the kitchen you can be easily entertained by the chefs as they plate all the dinners. The interior has a comfy kitchen feel and all the staff are on their toes, attentive and friendly. For the French Country Picnic, the 5 courses contained all my faves: local seasonal veggies, edible flowers, beautiful plates and inspired combinations! I’m not sure it’s really necessary to fully describe my dining experience since they have an excellent reputation, but I’ll mention a few things. First, if you think you want to eat here, I think it would be safe to reserve well in advance even though the menu changes every couple weeks and you won’t know what you are going to be eating. I don’t know how you can go wrong. You could always cancel or reschedule as the menu is posted. Second, like them on FB to be among the first to get notice of their new menu. Third, you can get wine, beer and some limited cocktails here — they will run you in the neighborhood of $ 7 for a cocktail. When I went, they had a chambery spritz on offer with lemon and strawberry, it was sweet but light and lovely. Fourth, park on the street in front, on the side street or in the back lot. You can enter through the back as well. Fifth, if you are going there from the city — take 590N to 104W — it’s faster! Sixth, make friends in the place! The seating is intimate with close tables; the night I was in I was alone and the couple seated next to me started up a conversation that carried us through all the courses over the 2 hrs we were there. Very friendly people there that night, and it added to the overall experience. Last, the selection of desserts and sweet treats(brownies, cookies, cake, lamingtons, etc etc) for sale in the bakery portion should not be overlooked… especially if you want to take a little of the experience home with you! Highly recommended; can’t wait to return!

Absolutely love this place. The owner is always so friendly and truly invested in the food and the dining experience. Had a fabulous pasta dish with wild ramp pesto, asparagus and green peas, most recently. I also love the kimchee pancake. Great place and delicious food. Oh yes, the flourless chocolate cookie! Don’t miss it! A favorite place !!

Wow! Just enjoyed Atlas’ Asian Road Trip this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing! One of the best, and most adventurous, meals I’ve had in a while. The dinner menu changes every two weeks to a different cuisine from around the globe. It is a pre fixed, five course menu for $ 39, not including drinks, gratuity, and taxes. The service was fantastic and the wait staff was knowledgable. Can’t wait to come back in the weeks following for their Mexican and Italian menus!

Lunch was nice in this charming and intimate space. It’s evident that everything is fresh and homemade, as you can see the staff buzzing around — cooking and baking from scratch. Unfortunately due to my garlic allergy my choices were limited in lunch options. I did go with the salad and it was crisp, fresh and delicious. The bacon was top notch. Most people will have many options to chose from and the unique spin on comfort foods is appealing. I definitely recommend trying this place. Will likely be one of your more unforgettable dining experiences.

I came here for Sunday breakfast/lunch. The place was busy as expected for a Sunday afternoon. The place is very small and there not a lot of standing room. I ordered the ranchero roll which is my favorite and go to. The flavors of the fresh salsa mixed with the spinach, egg, and focaccia was amazing, very light and refreshing. My fiancé ordered the sausage gravy biscuit. The gravy wasn’t too heavy like most places. He lived his dish and he always orders it. I enjoy watching the staff cook in the kitchen or watching them make fresh banquettes or desserts. They have pancakes specials every week. Atlas offers a different menu for dinner on the weekends based on the country they choose which lasts for several weeks. It is a very great experience with a preset menu. This is definitely a hidden spot tucked away in a residential area. I highly recommend this place!

I have only been to Atlas Eats for breakfast thus far and I can tell you that the Ranchero Roll is delectable! However, Atlas Eats is NOT an ideal setting for catching up with friends or family. It is a tiny restaurant so it is understandable that they want to keep things moving, but what I did not appreciate was the feeling that my table was being stalked throughout our meal and pressured to leave the second we finished. Each time that I have visited Atlas Eats my table as been rudely asked to leave because«other people are waiting» — never an issue at other restaurants.

We were back for brunch this weekend and had an out of this world special with duck fat home fries, poached egg, smoked salmon and a beet purée. Strong and hot coffee and mimosas rounded out the experience. Great and quick service. We love Atlas.

service was very nice, but the food was just alright. 1.5 stars. seating was a little cramped for my taste(perhaps this was just the set up for prix-fixe). would be curious to see how the handle other cuisine. will try to coordinate for future, but will have to thoroughly vet the menu to make sure i love every item. italian menu backwards: the dessert was absolutely inedible. spongecake is what the menu said, biscuit shaped hockey puck is what i got. how you put whole blood orange slices with the skin in, in a dessert that is supposed to be delicate is beyond me. their pan-roasted atlantic whitefish was i believe cod is what we were told. teeny smidgelettes of kale speckling tiny(frozen carrot sized) butternut squash pieces, with the common-breadcrumb-encrusted fish laying on a bed of a bit of smashed white bean, with whole white beans. flavorless. the filet cut ny strip addition was dry as leather. it’s ny strip, you should not put the word filet anywhere near that as that is the associated name for filet mignon(ie petite filet). the royal cavatelli was doughey and flavorless, as was the meek broth it came in. i suppose it is better than too salty… the highlight was probably the salad. very nice mix of greens with two croutons and grape tomatoes and mini smidges of delicious chewy ricotta(never had it like that before! yum!) but they tried to ruin it with really unfortunate looking eggplant.(can’t fool me in the dark!) i think i would’ve been happy with just the salad. the rice ball was quite good. though i’m not a fan of the extreme breading on the outside where they over-fry panko-style(extra crunchy) breadcrumbs, it worked here. was also very happy with this. again perhaps it was just the items that i was not a fan of(though i don’t know what to do with not enough seasoning) maybe will be back.

Food is fantastic! Fresh produce. .deliciously fresh! Farm to table concept is outstanding! We didn’t know they close the kitchen at 3 to prepare for dinner, so of course we showed up at 3 haha. But the lady that greeted us was so amazing! She let us sit down. She was very gracious in allowing us eat even after close. The people were extremely nice. I will absolutely be coming back, and I would absolutely recommend to friends. If you haven’t checked this sweet little spot out… What are you waiting for?! You’re definitely missing out on an amazing experience!

We had heard the rave reviews for Atlas so I am not sure why it took us so long to eat here. We checked out the dinner menu on-line ahead of time, liked what we saw, and made our reservation for dinner on Friday night(which is essential given there are only about 26 seats). They change the dinner menu every two weeks so if you see something you like you need to act fast. All five courses on the night we dined were excellent. We all commented that it gave us the chance to try some dishes we might not normally order. I thought the first course of salmon pastrami style was the best and others thought the seared scallops with kimchi butter was the best. The detail with which each course was prepared was wonderful. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented(see photos). And did I mention the 4 – 5 different fresh breads? Awesome! The staff and owner were super friendly and very helpful at explaining each dish in a non-pretentious manner(we’ve been to a couple of restaurants that must pride themselves on the snootiness of their attitude — not here). The fixed menu is $ 39/person which is not bad for the quality of the food — if you are a big eater you might be disappointed but we weren’t. Beverages are extra. We also learned they serve lunch and breakfast(we have to come back for the kimchi pancakes!). We have already talked this place up to other friends and plan to be back soon!

This is perhaps the most interesting place you will ever eat dinner at in Rochester. For starters, you need to go to their website to understand what the premise is. It is NOT someplace that you casually drop in for dinner. You MUST make reservations, often weeks in advance, if you want a seat. They have a fixed 5-course dinner menu on Friday and Saturday nights — the only two nights they serve dinner(they are open for breakfast and lunch most other days). They serve two dinner seatings — one at 6pm, the other at 8:30pm. The menu changes every two weeks or so. The dinner is a completely crafted experience, centered around a country. It’s not«French» or «German» or «Italian», food, it’s «French-inspired» or «German-inspired» food. Every course has a note or a tone or an ingredient or a preparation method that was inspired by the country that is featured. Sometimes it’s a direct relationship, sometimes it’s a bit of a stretch(but still interesting). The dinner course portions are all tastings-sized. You will get a belly full, but a little at a time. No worries, the traveling bread server can always stop back and add some variety and content to your meal if you are a big eater. All of the bread is baked on-premise and is as creative(and delicious) as the food. Everyone gets served a course at the same time, so all 24 of you will be eating the same thing at the same time, sort of like a really large family all at small separate tables. The food is always hot(or cold, if that is how it is supposed to be) and very well presented, right down to the exact right bowl or plate as needed. You’ll have your forks and spoons refreshed as needed as the courses are completed. The chef is a culinary instructor at a local college(if I understand that correctly), He and his team of chefs use local fresh ingredients to create their interesting and delicious foods. This is NOT a good place for a large group, but it is a great place for an intimate dining experience(impress your date or spouse!). It is not a good place for very young children(for dinner) unless they are used to creative dishes and you are willing to shell out $$ even if they don’t like what is being served. I love this place because you can talk quietly with your table-mates and easily be heard. It can be a bit chilly during the colder weather, so be sure to wear a sweater or long-sleeved shirt if you tend to be cold like me. I have only had breakfast there once, but it was as wonderful as anything else I have eaten there. The bake shop is a bit dangerous — you will be VERY tempted to get something to go as you leave.

Have struggled long and hard after many, many visits to write this Atlas review. It’s certainly one of the most interesting and unique food establishments in Rochester. I personally feel that their breakfast and lunch menus are the most outstanding part of the place: consistent, wonderful fresh ingredients and excellent prices. The sausage chorizo gravy over a homemade biscuit holds a special place in my heart. The mimosas are $ 5. Two people can have two mimosas each and a full breakfast for under $ 40. That also steals my heart. They poach their eggs perfectly. The kimchee pancakes are ridiculously good — please just try this dish once and I promise you’ll be hooked. Part of it is how they’re fried on the griddle to create the absolute perfect texture of crunchy outside and soft inside. The edible atlas menu is very innovative and can be wonderful. There are also some misses, but to quote Anthony Hopkins from Meet Joe Black«…you have to try, because if you haven’t tried, you haven’t lived.» Thank you, Atlas Eats, for trying something new and interesting every couple of weeks! $ 38 per person is fairly reasonable for a solid number of courses including dessert. The downside to the menu is that the alcohol selection is very limited, some of the dishes don’t always work, and sometimes the portions are so small! Another quibble of mine — I just find it a little awkward in the winter… the ambiance is more suited to a café-style, not semi-upscale dinner. Tables are too close to each other and the dining room can get cold and hot very quickly because of its size and the huge windows. Not much of a «night out» scene. On the upside, the service is always very friendly and familiar — everyone takes great pride in the place and they should; it’s a gem.

Have you ever walked into a restaurant, sat down, and after your first conversation with the waiter/waitress, KNEW the meal was going to be incredible? This was the situation at Atlas Eats. Our waitress ran down the menu with the most enthusiasm I have seen pretty much anywhere, with statements like«YOUHAVETOTRYTHIS» and«OMGINCREDIBLE». There was none of the«Oh, everything is good». She just had a true passion for this place and the food they served. Amazing to see, and it immediately got our whole group excited. We ate brunch, and we ordered pretty much everything on the menu, as it’s small. However, we had to order the kale salad, since she so highly recommended it. The freshest kale I’ve ever eaten, topped with delicious pomegranate seeds. As for the mains: Whole Wheat Pancakes: When she said«the best pancakes you have ever had» she wasn’t lying. It’s the simplest item on the menu, but don’t rule this out. Ranchero Roll: Amazing combination of flavors. Egg, avocado, salsa and sour cream on focaccia. Kimchee Pancakes: So unique and superb, nice blend of sweet and savory Scrambled Skillet: Comes in a mini skillet — eggs, spinach, cheese, and red peppers. Delightful! I was absolutely blown away by this place and will definitely come back when I return to Rochester!

Hard to add to all the wonderful things that have been said about this place. It has really brightened up a formerly gloomy bedroom section of North Clinton Avenue since it opened several years ago. Food is very fresh and inventive. Breakfasts are my favorite, though the themed dinners are always great as well. Bakery items are all fantastic. Russian braids are absolutely deadly. I could easily kill one myself. Very much worth a visit in Irondequoit. Definitely a highlight in the Town.

My review is for the Edible Atlas Dinner series only — haven’t sampled the bake-shop proper: Really special experience — you’ll need reservations and expect a pricey meal but it’s worth it for a special occasion. Meal theme changes every 2 weeks(I believe) and meals are served off a fixed menu. It’s kind of fun to not even worry about what you’re getting and just enjoy the courses as they come. The food is excellently prepared, uses very interesting combinations, and is beautifully plated. The room where dinner is served is quite small and Atlas is not open most nights(hence reservations). The only downside in my opinion was that the bread was a little bit of a letdown to me considering it was home-made, maybe I’m just someone who prefers something a bit doughier than the proprietors ;)

I came here for one of their Edible Atlas special menus. If you’re unfamiliar with the Edible Atlas specials, this is a special 5-course meal that Atlas Eats puts on some Friday and Saturday nights. Every month they change the menu for these meals so you never come back to the same thing. Seating is limited, and it does cost $ 35-$ 40 per person, but you get a fantastic meal in a fantastic bakery with a significant other or good friends. You can find the menu for these specials on their website so you know exactly what you can expect before you sign up for one of these Edible Eats. If you have the money and you find a menu that suits your pallet, I would not pass up a chance to try them out.

Mmmmm, Atlas Eats is phenomenal. The breakfast I had there was incredibly delicious. The biscuit and gravy were perfection. Nice, fresh salad served with it as well. The restaurant itself is adorably cute and quaint. Seating is a little bit limited, so arrive early, especially if you’re going for brunch. We sampled several desserts after our meal, and they were all outstanding. No complaints, all yum, all the time.

We went last night for a prix fixe dinner menu that was all about street food from France, Malaysia, Argentina, Ethiopia and USA! Excellent! My favorites were Malaysia, Argentina, Ethiopia! We also had a terrific Chilean Red Wine!!! Service and table top was perfect as well! This tasting menu was so enjoyable at the $ 38 price point and would certainly encourage anyone to go! Make reservations early as seating is limited in this small quaint restaurant ! Enjoy!

It’s small and because we were just two we could not be seated at a four top. So we waited maybe 15 – 20 minutes outside. I had the salmon plate over bow tie pasta and she had the burger with pickled beets, pineapple and a sunny side egg on it. Mine was seriously tasty and perfectly cooked. Hers was equally fabulous. The staff are attentive and sweet. Cute place!

It’s the best dinner you can get in Rochester. We reserved a table for four and we went there with the surprise of the menu and the utterly memorable experience. The ambience is really cozy feeling, with few tables and an open kitchen and a really small a friendly staff. So, you do not to choose your plates, but you get full serving from appetizer, to main course, second course, a soup and a dessert. Everything well thought-out by an expert in the field. The portions might be small, but after all the different courses, you can be sure to be full. The price is fixed and somewhat in the upper price range, but the experience definitely worths the money!

I love Unilocal! There is no way we would have found this little hidden gem without it! The café is located in a residential neighborhood in Irondequiot — it is the cutest little shop/café! Very country kitchen. The menu is small and changes frequently. But there was plenty to choose from, and the food was terrific. I had a manchego and proscuitto grilled cheese on their homemade 13 grain bread. Not to big, not too small — with a little spinach salad on the side it was a perfect lunch portion. Very flavorful with piquillo peppers to cut the salt of the cheese and meat. My husband had the Mexican Street Soup — kind of a lighter version of a corn chowder. Yummy — but maybe a little under seasoned. The café is also a bakery — and the bakery case is absolutely drool-worthy. I highly suggest the Carrot Cake. Plenty of cream cheese frosting, but not too much. Some of the best carrot cake I’ve had. We would definitely come back again next time we are in town!

Atlas Eats has THE best breakfasts. THE. BEST. They’re somehow old familiar comfort food and at the same time innovative, new, and exciting. It’s like a paradox. Who knew a paradox could be so delicious? Well, now we all know. You’re welcome. Their breakfast sandwiches are always fabulous, and anything with kimchi in it is dynamite. In fact, I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t wolf down within seconds while completely ignoring my company(sorry, friends). I’m dying to try one of their dinner seatings. Hopefully I can kidnap someone soon to join me for one. Or maybe I’ll just pay for two seats myself and eat it all. I’ve never tried their baked goods, but they look phenomenal and I’ve heard nothing but great things. The staff is always super nice, and very charming. The parking can be tight, they have a small lot on the side of the building that fills up fast. In summary: How long has this place been here??? I just moved OUT of Irondequoit, and now I’m finding myself wanting to go back immediately. There is absolutely nothing bad about this restaurant. You should go ASAP and bask in it’s glory.

I cannot get enough of Atlas Eats! I’ve been here for breakfast a couple times. Their portions are perfect because I never go into a food coma upon leaving. I highly recommend the Ranchero Roll with a mimosa. Nothing in life can bring you down afterward. If you think that isn’t enough and you desire to have a food baby, pick up a baked good on the way out. Word on the street is that their brioche bread is the best around.

*Saturday Lunch Review* I came to Atlas Eats with high hopes of trying their brunch special of the day posted on Instagram… The Sloppy Joseph; sloppy meat with egg, bacon and avocado on a whole wheat roll… Naturally they were all out by 1:30pm T-T I debated and debated and debated some more over the menu. Everything looked yummy, and I am actually kicking myself for not ordering the Kimchee Fried Rice Bowl with the egg. Instead I ordered the Seared Samon; brussel sprouts, mushrooms, walnuts & balsamic reduction over rice. When I got the plate it looked like it had beets because it was so purple in color. My mouth was blue by then end of my meal. I must be honest with you. The salmon was seared to absolute perfection, but its accompaniments were lacking. I found the dish to be overall bland. Now, my friend had better instincts in that she got the Kimchee rice bowl but opted for the tofu. MYGAWD, this was AMAZING. Bursting with flavors from the kimchee and surprisingly the tofu since it soaked up all the yummy yummy. It was tossed up with both pickled and fresh cabbage. For dessert we got the rum cake and the old fashioned chocolate cake. Seems like dark chocolate was used for the yummy ganache frosting. The cake itself was ok. I am assuming that we got and end piece and so it may have dried up a little. But otherwise, the sweet and dark flavor were expertly balanced. The rum cake was a single layer with the entire top coated in crushed walnuts. This cake was very much moist and the rum flavor was strong with this one. I now wish that I bought one to go :-( Will be back again for their prix fixe seating! Their«A Trip Around the World» looks mighty enticing!
