I’ve been going Ajisen for a few years as I really enjoy the miso ramen. Like many others have stated here, the service can be hit or miss so I don’t really have high expectations when I go in. However, tonight was probably the worst experience I have had there. Not particularly busy and it took at least 15 minutes for the server to come and take our order. The part that especially irked me was when we paid the bill. When the girl gave us our change back(after another 15 minutes) she only gave me $ 5 change instead of $ 10. When I politely brought this to her attention, she practically rolled her eyes at me huffed off, saying that she would«check to make sure». She came back with the receipt and rudely insisted that we only gave her $ 25, when I knew for a fact we gave her a 20 and two 5’s. Luckily another waiter helped us out and got me my correct change back. Honestly I probably won’t be coming back and if I do I’ll make sure to order take out and pay in exact change. Food is 4 stars but her horrible attitude was below a 1 for sure.

The ramen here is okay. I wouldn’t go here for your one hour lunch break though. Takes 45 minutes for your ramen to come out. You’d think it would be quick because the broth should already be made but it literally took them 45 minutes to bring out our ramen. Maybe that’s why this restaurant is not so busy… Because people don’t have time to wait. If you want quick ramen… Go to the mitsuwa supermarket… The ramen there is both good and you’ll make it back to work on time. Service wasn’t great either. Workers looked like they hated their life.

I come here for their ramen. It helps me satisfy my craving for ramen. This restaurant is located in the DJ shopping center. It is always packed! It takes a while to find parking. Service is alright and fast, food is average to above average. I usually get the miso pork ramen.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend because I was craving ramen. Service was great. We were seated promptly. I was impressed that this place had conch as an appetizer. Their fried tofu was delicious too. Had the ABC ramen and it was amazing. Three kinds of pork and the broth was very tasty. Lots of choices! Can’t wait to come back and try them all!

I’ve tried various ramen places and Ajisen Ramen in Irvine has the honor of being my favorite! I tried this place last week for lunch and I ordered the Ajisen Ramen. It was amazingly delicious and satisfying!!! The pieces of pork are flavorful and melts in your mouth. The broth is absolutely spot-on in the Ajisen ramen; it is not salty and it just warms your soul and complements the rest of the ingredients nicely! The half egg was cooked right and the yolk is not runny(I was GLAD since other ramen places skimp on cooking their eggs right). Fresh green onions and seaweed in the ramen pleased me. The straight ramen noodles themselves were perfectly cooked and they aren’t mushy. To me, this was a perfect bowl of ramen. YUM-TASTIC. The restaurant has nice décor and Japanese art, very clean, restrooms were clean too. Overall design of the restaurant makes it decently spacious. Menus were nice, clear, and organized well. Service was great too! Our waitress was patient, helpful, and positive while also checking up on us during the busy lunch. I appreciated this! Another huge positive: They have VEGETARIAN ramen! My mom is vegetarian and their vegetarian ramen was delicious, according to her. You can choose a broth that is completely meat-free, which was greatly appreciated! YES! Five-star experience for me in every category. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, «I’ll be back!!!»

Overall pretty good but nothing absolutely spectacular. First off, the location of the shopping center is a MADHOUSE so GOODLUCKFINDINGPARKING even on a weekday. There also didn’t seem to be a very systematic way of seating people. But anyways, we didn’t wait too long and ordered the lunch special($ 1 off!!) w corn bbq pork ramen(corn in ramen? weird but recently good), fried tofu, and gyoza. The tofu and dumplings were alright, again, nothing amazing. The ramen itself was pretty yummy, good quality meat and though I’m no ramen expert, the noodles seemed good but not truly authentic. Service was quick and friendly. Not sure if we will come back though.

I do have to say the ramen at Ajisen is pretty good. I’ve tried the Ajisen ramen and the premium pork ramen and the Premium Pork Ramen was so much better. I highly recommend! The meat was tender but the corners were a little crispy giving it texture(which I love!). Only this is it doesn’t come with the half egg but you can always add that on! Thumbs up to their pork broth because it’s very flavorful with just the right amount of butter and oil. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly and nice. The waitress we had knew the menu pretty well and was able to give us tips on what to order. Bathrooms are clean as well(we all know that’s important too!). Only thing about this place is that it’s in a very busy complex full of other restaurants and a market so it’s very crowded! We went there on a Thursday night around 8pm and it was tough to find parking. There’s a parking complex behind the restaurants and we ended up parking there on the 3rd floor. But even though Ajisen was packed it only took about 20 minutes to seat us so that wasn’t too bad. It’s not a bad place to try out!

Our waitress forgot about our fried chicken appetizer and never checked in on us. This place serves great food but they should train their employees on proper customer service

I came here 2 weeks ago for the first time. It’s located in a nice complex with other food places to check out nearby. The ramen I got was delicious! I got the Ajisen spicy pork ramen which was $ 8.85. The process are decent and reasonable. About every placer that self ramen is ~$ 9 to $ 10. I really enjoyed the noodles. I found it interesting how they also had curry ramen and some other interesting dishes. It had nice interior and was roomy inside. It didn’t look or feel dirty. I would come back again!

I’m going to be honest, I don’t really come to ajisen for anything but their volcano ramen and the fact that it’s one of the few ramen places with good boba style drinks. However, this ajisen is really exceptional compared to the other ones. For one, the staff seems like they actually care. I let a staff member know the restroom was a mess and they took care of it immediately and gave me updates. The servers also come by to check on you unlike the other locations. On to the food! My friend got a salmon salad and she really enjoyed it. It was a large portion and tasty. I always get the volcano ramen because I love the level of spice and the bold flavor. I also have tried the croquette and it was not bad at all. Since the menu is so large and this location seems to have it together, I would be open to trying more menu items in the future. (Only downside is how busy this place can get and parking is almost always a mess at this plaza).

Excellent! I came here for the first time with my friend(who has been before). I got the fired chicken ramen and she got one of the curry ramen. Both were delicious! Just a heads up, the parking lot can be a little crazy so just go slow and be careful. Excellent food and service, highly recommend!

I’ve been here many times before and have received great customer service… But I will not be coming here ever again due to last night’s experience. I understand that we came in 20 mins before closing and that is quite aggravating to the employees, BUT that does not excuse their poor customer service. I’ve worked in the food industry before and I work in retail now, and I still treat that«last minute» customer with respect and make sure they walk out satisfied. We walked out at 10:05pm(just 5 mins after closing) and there were still people inside who were also not treated with standard customer service. My friends and I were not greeted… Not a single smile from any of the workers. The staff working on the night of 5÷17÷16 were rushing us out by saying«Last call for food is in 2 minutes» but we weren’t even seated yet. We were still walking to our table. Staff did not check up on us or refill water. Turned off music while there were still customers eating(we weren’t the last ones to leave, btw). I’ve been a last minute customer here before and a sweet girl served us with patience and respect. My boyfriend and I felt bad that we were one of the last customers so we left her a huge tip… So why were we treated so poorly this time? Well, a friend I was with this night had complications with the hostess, Judy, prior to our visit. If this was the stem of their poor customer service, then this whole staff is quite immature. Good luck on your next visit!

Sadly, this is one of the closest places to my apartment in Irvine to get some decent ramen. I wish there were more options! I’ve tried several different kinds of ramen here, but I have to say that my favorite would be the Miso Ramen w Barbecue Pork. They recently added a Spicy Miso ramen which I tried once, and it seemed the spicy in that bowl was a little overwhelming and not worth ordering a second time. Instead, I just get the miso ramen and cover it in the chili powder. Yum! The ramen is pretty standard and isn’t that impressive but it helps the cravings. I’ve tried other things such as the Pork Cutlet which I thought wasn’t that good, the sauce is a little weird and I’m not sure what to do with it to be honest. I used to get the Spicy Pork Ramen which I thought was pretty good but it’s a little pricier(not by much, maybe a few cents) and I just like miso better. The fried chicken ramen also comes with fried chicken which is okay. Service can be a hit or miss but usually a miss. There isn’t ever much staff when I go and the food can take anywhere from 5 – 25 minutes. Quite ridiculous how inconsistent they can be. Overall, this place is just satisfactory in that it fixes the cravings but it’s not a bomb ramen place in any way.

Ajisen has surprised me. Not the best soup or noodles but it’s not bad and it’s convenient when you’re in Irvine and you don’t want to drive to Costa Mesa/Westminster/Garden Grove. But I usually make that drive. I’ve had they’re curry ramen and soba salad. I really enjoyed the curry ramen. The curry soup based is flavorful and not too overbearing. And the side of pork Katsu is great. Not like actual curry but it goes well with the katsu. I finished it all and I’m a small 5′ flat girl! Second time here I decided to skip ramen and had their soba salad. I used to love soba salad at another Japanese restaurant but it sadly closed. So now I’m on a hunt for some awesome soba salad. Theirs was okay. I didn’t enjoy their dressing as much, but the salad is still good. I’ll be trying their other ramens whenever I go back. Which isn’t any time soon.

I haven’t gotten real Ramen in a very long time, and by real ramen, I of course mean something not from a bag. I ended up getting the pork rib ramen, and it was fantastic. The broth was flavorful, and the noodles and veggies were plentiful. Of course, that could just be my stomach talking, since I was super hungry when I finally got to sit down and eat it. There were only 3 pieces of meat though, so if you want a lot of meat, you may want to get extra.

Went here a little bit before they had a rush. I think they might’ve been a little distraught from and earlier rush because it took the waitress a little while to come take our drink orders as well as bringing our drinks. Someone on or table had ordered a boba drink and it came out before the Sprite . I ended up ordering the«ABC» ramen which is really, really, good. The pork and everything in it were really delicious. The egg on the other hand was a bit over cooked. My egg had come out completely hard boiled, where in most bowls Of ramen I had elsewhere they were a little bit under with a gooey yolk. But I’m not sure if it was meant to be served hard boiled or not.(I’m just not used to it.) Lastly I had ordered some baby octopus. When we ordered the ramen. The server was honest enough to tell us that she forgot about it so we tried it anyways. It was surprising to me that it was served cold. But it was good none the less. Overall I almost gave them three stars because I felt that service here was kinda crappy– the servers didn’t even look you in the eye while talking to you(like their mind was elsewhere). But the ramen was really, really good

I’m not usually a fan or ramen and more of an udon kind of girl as my noodle choice but I came here to meet up some friends for a catch up sesh and was pleasantly surprised that they did have an udon dish option which is their version of the chicken yakisoba with wispy flakes. The sauce for this dish is just perfect and the noodles are not too dry(after grill) that I usually can finish a whole plate by myself. I tried a bit of my friend’s ramen and it was pretty good, the noodles are nice and tender and completed soaked in the soup’s flavor, but I’m going to stick to my love of udon still. There is a pretty spacious restaurant but the only downside is that they seem to be in a rush all the time to «kindly» reminder customers that it’s time for them to go after eating a meal instead of sitting around to chat by handing them a bill without the customer having to ask for one. I always see a line out the door for this place as well around dinner time so this is understandable I guess. Come early to avoid the dinner crowd if you can or else you’ll end up waiting around for a table to free up! Your entire party is preferred to all be present in order to be seated.

The #37 is supreme! It’s the premium pork ramen and it was delicious. The ramen had a good texture and the broth was flavorful. There was a subtle spiciness to it too. I really liked the thinly cut pieces of pork with their crispy edges. This was bordering on bacon AND there was plenty! Perfectly chewy ramen. So good. The beef bowl(#67)…another fantastic choice. After eating Yoshinoya for so long I forgot how good a serious bowl of beef could be. As a side dish, the California rolls(#5) with masago was a solid choice for the kiddies. Six large pieces stuffed with lots of imitation crab. The portions were generous and the wait wasn’t long once you’re seated. There are a few locations that are closer, but the food at this one has been consistently good.

If you want spaghetti ramen, this is the place to go to. I had came here before a couple years ago and I remembered it being pretty good, which is why I wanted to eat here again when visiting my sister. One of the first things I noticed was the ramen. It literally looked like spaghetti! My sister and I couldn’t stop staring. We ate it anyways since we were both hungry. But for me personally, ramen spaghetti doesn’t do it for me. I can get pretty picky about ramen, and I don’t think I will be coming back here. The location of the place is in a nice area too with plenty of other restaurants to choose from. I’d look elsewhere for good ramen.

I’ve been eying this place for a while and finally got to try it! And I’m so glad that I did! I got their Pork Cutlet Curry Ramen($ 9.50) The curry broth was so good. It has tons of flavor and the pork cutlet was super crispy. I like dipping the pork into the curry. And the ramen bowl came with such a huge spoon which surprised me. But the huge spoon was helpful. Milk tea($ 3) I really love this. It was overly sweet or bland. It was perfect for me. Overall, I can’t wait to come back here to try other different kinds of ramen they offer.
