Very happy I decided to go with Jim and Astro Termite. He was a pleasure to do business with. Things fell through with another termite company so I called Jim and he could fit me in at the last minute. They were at my house in three days just as he promished. The fumigation crew did a wonderful job. In and out of our house with no damage to plants in our yard. House was left nice and tidy, you would never know they were there. Also he had the best price of the termite companies I shopped. One thing that you should know is Jim prefers texting to communicate over phone calls and emails. Once I understood that communication was perfect. I will definitely be calling Jim in the future to do other jobs.

When service work is needed, I’m picky as all heck, usually calling a few companies to get comparative & competitive bids. A few came out, a couple didn’t return my calls (?!), and Jim @ Astro was not only responsive and answered his own phone (!), but was openly happy to answer all questions and concerns. It was obvious he has a genuine, caring attitude about customer-​first service.
We needed some wood rot work done first then a full «fume». Couple other companies suggested spot treatments which I knew was a futile solution. Both the pre-​work to get the fresh wood up and painted as well as the overall process for the tenting was handled as best as I could expect and then some. Solid communication, very fair price-​to-​service delivered, and a feeling of competence and professionalism. Makes it easy to call Astro again next time we need any work done. Jim was quick to respond to our call even before he came out for an inspection. He also took the time over the phone to educate us on termites and convey his knowledge and expertise about treatments, etc.
He was straight forward, willing to listen to our concerns, helpful, all around honest guy with good communication skills. I have already passed on his contact info to a friend and would highly recommend him to others.

Astro is one of the best termite companies we’ve worked with. I am kind of shocked at the (few) negative reviews. I can only assume they are first time homeowners in Southern CA. Let me help right off: They’ll need access to your house and some roofing tiles may get broken. None of that is out of the ordinary for getting your house tented. If you own a home here this is a fact of life about every 10 years.
My experience: The price was right. Jim and his crew’s attitude and work was flawless. Great with flexibility on a pre-​inspection, great with scheduling the tenting, great about checking back with us as soon as they saw we had «delicate» light-​weight concrete roof tile, great clean-​up, great follow-​up. We have no complaints and will definitely call them back for future work.

Wait around 8 hours for a call back after I left a message to set up a termite inspection. In the message I told him that my city was La Habra. Calls me back and asks me what city I’m in and then tells me that he doesn’t go that far north. I guess I must have misread your website where it listed La Habra as a city you service as well as a bunch of cities in Los Angeles County that are much further. He then tells me to check on Unilocal to find one that services my area, if only I had thought of that in the first place! Oh wait, that’s exactly what I did.

He was quick, came in on a Saturday morning for a quote, and I had 4 other quotes also.
Easy, efficient and the tenting was done easily. Gave enough bags for the food to keep everything protected.

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to rave about Jim and Astro Termite. I had to have my home fumigated this year for the first time so I interviewed a couple of local companies. Jim was honest, quoted a fair price, and provided excellent customer service. He was thorough, professional, and assured me that the team he uses would take good care of my home. I was a little nervous about allowing strangers into my home without me being there, but they have a great protocol in place where only the foreman of the team is allowed in the house. I had a chance to meet the foreman before they started their work and he gave me his direct cell phone number in case I needed anything or had any questions. We returned home after the fumigation and everything was in perfect order.

James from Astro Termite is very honest. He will only recommend services for what is really needed, not like many other termite companies that try to bill you for work you do not really need.

Wow, what a breath of fresh air, Jim is! I wish service companies are as honest as him. We are doing some work in the house and we thought since our house is over 20 yrs old, it’s maybe a good time to get a termite inspection. Our house is well maintained but you just never know.
He came to our house this morning and my husband and I were so thankful we found a trustworthy man in him. We know he has great reviews but to really hear him say that our place is fine, that we do not need any termite work, that was something! Although he said every older house may have termites, he does not want us to spend money on something that is not needed, that our house is just fine. He is very nice, very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable. We won’t hesitate to use him in the future.

A few days ago my wife spotted tiny holes on the baseboard and suspected termites. We made appointments with three termite inspectors. The first two quoted $ 600 — 700 for local treatment. I asked one of them what do I get for the money (what is the difference compared to us buying the termite spray in Home Depot and do it ourselves)? He made it sound that they can do a better job killing all termites in the wall.
Today I learned from Jim (Astro Termite) that if you live in California, your house most likely have termites! What he saw in our house today was nothing for us to worry about. So he recommended us buying the termite spray and do it ourselves. Also Jim gave us lots of information about termites that I didn’t know before.
Well he didn’t make money from us today but he built goodwill and trust. Trust is the building block of a good business. If you need termite inspection or treatment, I strongly recommend you try Astro Termite.

I’m an engineer and building contractor doing commercial construction for 50 years, AND I’m difficult to please.
Our home needed fumigation and extensive wood work: termite damage and dry rot in fascias, beams, and a large second floor deck railing.
During the inspection, Jim conveyed extensive knowledge of this field. He was friendly & helpful; answering all my questions. After he left, he called and gave recommendations about the replacement railing and house façade. It’s rare to find someone who has such interest in a customer he’s not likely to see again for 10 years. The price quote was in the middle, but the results were superior: exactly what anyone with a brain would want.
Work on the house went smooth and Jim’s employees displayed the same attitude toward the work and the customer that their boss does.
We’re happy with the results and our choice of Astro Termite.

I have a 100 year old wood house with a history of termites and called Jim today for an estimate. I told him I haven’t seen any new infestations, but wanted to have some termite work done to prevent them before they happen.
When I told Jim my house was tented six years ago, he informed me that tenting is effective for 10 – 12 years so I shouldn’t worry about termites for now.

The other termites I called couldn’t give me a quote fast enough. I was blown away by Astro Termite’s honesty and will definitely call them in four years when it’s time to tent again.

I actually had my house serviced by Astro Termite in March 2014, and I was only informed about my termite situation after I told my dad I saw dead termites everywhere. like, EVERYWHERE. He then told me, «Oh yeah, there’s been termites for a while now.» Well, what the heck?!? I did not want to find out about it this way. We’ve had ant extermination done before, so I tried that place out first only to find out they did not do termites. After some research, I came upon James and his termite company.
What: Termites

When: March 2014
How: They drilled a small hole somewhere and put poison in the walls so that the termites can bring the poison back to «the mothership.»
Cost: $ 500 out the door (they take credit cards and cash). I was invoiced for the service.
Verdict: Still TERMITE FREE and it’s October! They have a 6 month guarantee, I believe.
Rich is kind of difficult to get a hold of via e-​mail, but he is responsive over the phone. Would use Astro Termite again and recommend his services to anyone with termite issues.

JIm and his crew were absolutely great. Not only was he polite and punctual, he gave us a real fair estimate and was truthful in his assessment. We had several quotes and by far Jim was the fairest, and the most comprehensive. The construction crew was thorough, clean and did a great job, as promised and on time.
The fumigation crew was also, clean, on time and also very polite. They addressed my concerns, left everything in order, and I was impressed with the fact that they not only assured me of no cracked tiles on start, they cracked none on completion as well. Other companies wanted to charge up front for their carelessness.
This is a really nice guy, fair and objective and true to his word. We checked out his fumigators and no license problems or complaints. All the bags were 100% new, they gave us many to use and followed up to make sure we were satisfied.
I highly recommend them and would use them again.
Great to see small businesses with the pride of ownership and careful attention to the homeowner, this is not a fun process. They made it pleasant and easy.
