Yeah, I gave it a 4 star, whattt! Okay, this is one of few OC clubs, and I’m not comparing this to la, or Vegas ppl. Its not half bad, actually it’s funn! The place has a nice décor and feel, the crowd is eclectic, and the drinks are cheap. My favorite part of this whole place is the Dj, they have a really good Dj and it’s fun to dance to. I didn’t have much expectations walking in here, but I was pleasantly surprised! It’s not overcrowded, the bathrooms are clean, and the staffs very friendly. I’m not too sure if I care too much about the camera following you an displaying your face on their tv screens. Kind of odd seeing yourself up there, or watching other ppl. Haha but other ppl liked it,

Due to Unilocal’s low ratings on this Lounge, I was hesitant about going. However, I was excited to see what this place looked like since everyone was talking about how pretty the place is. This place is located in a plaza and I was super happy since there was no need to valet or find a parking lot. Free parking! SCORE! We got there around 11pm and no line! YAY! We show our ID’s and got in right away. The place was cute, but I wouldn’t say, GORGEOUS! It was dark, so maybe I wasn’t able to get a good look at the decorations or furniture. The DJ was good. He played a good mix of hip hop and house, and drinks are average priced. In the bar area, they have a few different plasmas all around. What was playing on the TV’s you ask? It was a camera filming everyone in the lounge. A little creepy if you ask me especially when they would start zooming into people. This is a good place to come esp if you live in South OC. Of course it is far from being compared to any clubs or lounges in Hollywood, but it’s Irvine. What can you expect? Overall, I had a good first experience and wouldn’t mind coming again.

I heard that a non-profit organization was having their upcoming event at the Chateaux Lounge. A contract was signed and everything was fine until the new manager decided to dishonor the contract and told the non-profit that if they had their event at Chateaux Lounge, the manager would get to keep 50 percent of the proceeds, or they would need to find another place. And this was two hours before the event was going to start! Luckily, the non-profit was able to book their event elsewhere at the last minute. But I wanted to let everyone know how dishonorable and rude the new manager is. I’m not saying that this maltreatment is bestowed on regular customers, but it does show that the people running place do have a dark side. In my opinion, Going against a contract and almost completely ruining the event is very unprofessional. I definitely do not support the Chateaux Lounge. Also, the parking lot is terrible, you have to pay to park there.

1.15.11: The beauty of this place is quite simple but yet it glows in elegance. Parking is actually located on Martin and Douglas Street. The outside reminds me of those beautiful cottages that are located in the Suburbs. As we walked in I asked the two hostesses where Lieng’s Birthday Party is located. First Hostess kept saying Jennifer. I told her that’s not my friend’s name. She kept saying it anyways. What is going on, is she stupid? Then I said«Is there a party dressed in all white?» The other hostess looked at me as if I was in the wrong place. The first hostess walked us to a party and well I knew it wasn’t that table since no one was wearing white, and I didn’t see my friend. I told her its the wrong table. She walked towards the back and said«Well there’s two party, so this one should be it». She walked us to the back and well everyone at the table was wearing white, uh duh hostess. There were only two big parties out of the whole restaurant and my friend was having a white party theme. I can understand if there were only 2 or 3 people at the party that has arrived, when she brought us to the table there were at least 16 people all wearing white. Were both of the hostesses blind as well? If 16 people walked by me wearing all white and someone asked the Birthday Girl’s name or remotely told them what the theme of the party is, that should be a no brainer. But these girls were having a hard time comprehending that. So sad. Next we sat until all was ready to order off the menu. Our server made sure that we all have to order an entrée. He made up a story saying that they will get in trouble if we don’t all order an entrée because the lounge part charges admission. Its not my birthday so I didn’t say anything, he made that up. If everyone ordered a main dish which is expensive then the more tips he actually gets because it’s automatic gratuity. Plus the Birthday Girl bought out a VIP table area for the lounge part of the night and that usually covers some admission. He knew that part so I knew he just made up the have to order crap. Most of us already read the reviews of this place and it wasn’t the greatest so we were hoping to share, but the server was being a money hungry whore. Anyhow I ordered the tomato bisque and halibut. The soup was actually pretty good and it was good with bread. The halibut on the other hand was not good at all. It was fishy the only thing I liked was their mango flavored. I was disappointed in the price in relation to the quality of the food. The Bf ordered the Steak, it was so chewy and hard to swallow. The Best Friend had the Salmon which was decent. Their calamari was not good either, it looked kind of weird on the plate too because it looks like it was dumped on the plate rather than being presented nicely. My friend order the shrimp appetizer and he received 3 shrimp and I think it cost $ 18? Just not recommended to eat here at all!!! Afterwards the lounge area was cool, not the greatest but it will do. The dancefloor was small, the TV’s that they had showed people dancing, sometimes the camera pinpoints at a girls boobs. Its kind of funny sitting there and watching it move around to focus on people talking. Mostly the pretty girls, so you will see a pretty girl talking near the dancefloor for at least 5 minutes on the TV. I was waiting for my friends to get their drinks, and well that was my only entertainment. Strange. The only thing I liked about this place is their décor and their tomato bisque. Waste of money.

this review is only for the night club the décor of this place is really amazing. the outside looks like a small cottage, which is cool because it is surrounded by offices and an airport. it’s like a faux get away from the bustling city life. the inside looks very nice as well. i love the white furry pillows they have. but the décor is like the only thing going for it. the main dance floor is small(but i guess that’s why they have two dance floors), the drinks are weak and semi cheap. 10 bucks for 1 cocktail. the smoking patio is dirty and they don’t have heating lamps outside. i suppose if it was packed with more club goers, then this place would be a nice place to go clubbing at. sometimes the dj is lacking. they should bring some bigger names… they spin mostly electro and house music. which is my type of music. :D FYI: i don’t know if they still have the«creep cam» but this one time i went, they kept showing random people on the TV screen. it was highly amusing and very creepy at the same time. hah

Just of MacArthur Boulevard lies a building that looks somehow out of place — a small cottage right next to the airport. This anomaly is new restaurant and lounge, Chateaux. And the interior is just as special as the outside promises: the indoors are vast, resembling a French lodge. With clean, white furniture, fireplaces and the aroma of calla lilies and white orchids, this establishment prepares a patron for the exquisite food. A substantial starter, the Ahi Tuna Tartar Tower features an Asian twist on guacamole, fried wonton crisps and a fresh tuna tartar. The display is simple, playing with the contrast of colors. The crisps are sinfully good and there is a kick added to the creaminess of the guacamole. Aside from the perfect setup of the dish, there is a certain effortlessness about the combination of flavors and textures, it is indeed a creative fusion appetizer. As avocado is the true Californian fruit, the mixture of Asian and Mexican in this delightful bite reflects the influences these cultures have had on our own. For a filling entrée, try the Red Wine Braised Short Rib. Served with seasonal vegetables and buttermilk onions on top for a bit of crunch, this plate’s aroma is comforting at first, like mom’s specialty roast. These ribs do not require a knife, and the braising liquid plays host to numerous flavorful ingredients, ensuring the palate stay more than entertained. In this case, the seasonal veggies included baby carrots and potatoes, served steaming hot. Always incorporating only what is in season, Chateaux is a good reminder of restaurants that refuse to offer a boring menu. Another tasty alternative is the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass in a miso butter sauce. The fish is crisp on the outside and flaky within, accompanied by just the right amount of sauce. Roasted asparagus is a perfect complement to this dish, as the lemon adds a touch of tartness to balance out the sweet miso sauce. This fish truly melts in your mouth with a spot-on buttery, hearty sauce. It is a sharp contrast to the asparagus, which is cooked in the French manner — under-cooked to preserve that crunchiness. This dish has it all.

So, this lounge was kind of empty… I’m used to club/bar/lounging in LA alot(even OC area) so this was very«uhhh» to me. The dance floor was VERY small and everyone was kind of dry humping each other instead of dancing. The guys were just at the side looking at the girls at the dance floor. It was FREAKY. I mean, imagine, short, pervy looking asians… thank goodness for the other dance(dance/techno)room. that room was like haven for us. it was very cool and empty. I really don’t know what else to say about this place… at least we got in for free?

Bad service here, and even worse — consistently bad service here. The décor inside and out gets five stars, for sure, but the management here is doing something way wrong. Tried to make a birthday party here, and they wanted us to pre-pay food and drink for $ 2,500 on a Wednesday(!). When I brought 60 people for a happy hour, one server(and the manager helping sporadically) made for bad, bad service, and lost drink opportunities. When you have to wait 30 minutes for a drink, it’s a bad sign. With the right management, a turn-around is possible, and hope springs eternal. The dance floor is great and ready to go(so why charge me a $ 400 «setup fee», when I hired your house DJ separately, Chateaux?). Looking forward to a better experience here sometime in the way future. For now, I’m avoiding this place.

THISPLACEMAKESMESOSAD! Why? Because it has SOOOOOMUCHPOTENTIAL. Really cute venue and good music… Decent size. AND in Irvine, so perfect place to go to when you don’ tfeel like driving all the way to LA and you just wanna dance and chill on some drinks. BUTWTF whoever is in charge of getting Chateaux’s name out there, failed miserably. I say turn it into an 18+ club and you will get some business… cuz when I walked in omg. There was about 8 people on the dance floor. One girl was just two stepping making a huge circle around the whole dance floor(weird?)… and the dance floor is so small, but for some reason there was enough room for a couple guys to have a break dance battle. AW, it was(sadly) pathetic… and a waste of time. Crackin crowd=crackin Chateaux. NOT crackin crowd=NOT crackin Chateaux. PROMOTIONS is slackin. fail.

So now that this placed was revamped and named Chateaux lounge, I figured why not give it a try? Mistake. First, $ 10 parking. Not a big deal, but it’s O.C., not west LA or beverly hills. Second, the line took about 30 mins, on a Saturday night at 8pm. Meh. And then, here’s a kicker. $ 20 entrance for the guys, $ 0 for the ladies. I told them«I’m gay, I don’t want girls», yet I still had to pay up. Bastards. Drinks? Moderate in strength, but pricey. Nothing below $ 10. The music was bad, and the dance floor packed. The smoking patio was also packed, and somewhat difficult to get to through the crowd. I will never return here. Not even if my drinks are paid for, and that’s saying something.

1 star = for being one of the very few clubs in Irvine. 1 star = for their protective bouncers. 1 star = for their modern décor(versus when it was Chanteclair & iLounge). 1 star = for their management. 1 star = for their bartenders. As your typical Unilocaler, I checked out the ratings of Chateaux before I EVEN agreed to to accompany a girlfriend of mine for a night out. To be completely honest, I was extremely hesitant. However, I’ve been clubbing since Kokomo’s existed in Irvine(the fine dancing establishment that housed 16+ yr olds). So, why the heck not?! Yes, bouncers here may not have been the friendliest, but they sure as hell did their job. My girlfriend had a bit too much to drink and there were a few guys hovering around like vultures on a wounded lion. Not a cute scene. Those men were quickly escorted out by security and the manager/owner was sure to check on us. The bartenders were kind enough to offer water and a sofa to rest on while our taxi was on its’ way during afterhours. So, yeah, it may not be the crowd for you or have the friendliest staff. But, professionalism and a legitimate dance club in Irvine? That’s hard to find these days. I’d definitely return anyday.

Now normally, I prefer dive bars, to clubs. Typically, on a night of adventure with the bestie, we don’t even consider entering a club, unless we made a reluctant promise to a friend that we’d show up. In any event, somehow, n this particular night, we ended up at Chataeux. We parked the car, and I let a quiet, but disenchanted sigh. And she turned to me with a similar nod. We got in fairly easily and were escorted to a table. I believe there were white leather couches with furry pillows abound. It’s a large enough establishment to freely walk around, and at that time, it thankfully wasn’t too packed. The bar is fairly accessible with 3 or 4 bartenders mixing your poison. The dj sucked balls, but I suppose it wasn’t my kind of music either way, and I’m not a complainer. Rather, I just focus on enjoying myself as best as possible. Overall, not bad, just not my cup of tea… or shot of whiskey.

You know you are about to drown in douche-ness, when: — People roll up in their fancy benz’s and beemers, self park for $ 5, but won’t pay $ 7 to valet! Then complain about $ 5 — Cheap ass! — You see 15 guys come out of a Cadillac Escalade and 9 come out of a maserati(of course the car belongs to the driver’s dad)! how the f* did you get all those ppl to fit in there? I thought I was in Irvine, not Tijuana! — guys over 40, please refrain from using a whole tube of gel to spike up your hair! That hair style is for 20 and under! — if you have a wedding ring that has been on your finger so long that you can’t even get it off, go home to your wife, stop trying to hit on girls ¼ of your age! — ladies, you are really hot, but your dress is soooo short and tight that I can see your va-jay-jay across the room. please either wear some underwear or buy a longer dress. thank you!

I’ve been here on 2 different Saturdays to dance and party it up. I heard a new promotion company took over and I guess they are doing a great job because I had a lot of fun both times I was there. I knew a promoter so our group was able to get in no problem. The bouncers are pretty friendly and gets the line moving pretty fast. The music is pretty good, top 40 mashups with some house and trance here and there. The first time I was there they had a 2nd room and dance floor that played just house and electro, but the second time I went it wasn’t there. What I really like about this place is that there are plenty of couches and chairs for you to sit. I hate clubs where you can’t find anything to sit on and rest your feet or to just chill when the music isn’t good. The drinks are reasonably priced, $ 7 – 9 ish. They don’t charge for water, which is another plus in my book. You do have to pay $ 5 for parking, which sucks. The people that were there are on the young and attractive side with some random oldies here and there, but they keep to themselves against the walls. Overall, I like this place, and I would definitely keep coming back.

One of my friends just broke up with his girlfriend and wanted to go out to party. I remember this place used to be called ilounge and was a lot busier before. $ 5 dollars to self park. Drinks were a bit pricey, about $ 12 dollars for a mixed drink shot. Bartenders are very nice and attentative. Club was very quiet till about 12am. Dance floor is pretty crowded, but overall atmosphere is good. Seems like there are a lot more guys than girls here. So if you’re bringing girls, be prepared to fend them off from oceans of guys while dancing. There are some pretty hostile guys here too apparently, one of my friends got punched in the back of the head for talking to some guy’s date? Haha, I’d try to stay away from here if you’re looking for a drama free night. Cheers!

$ 5 to self-park in their lot in some sort of office building complex. What a rip. I think we could have just parked near there and walked 3 minutes. But whatever. Entry was free for me but I think there’s cover when there’s no guest list. The place is a decent sized venue with a spacious, sort of, patio with scenic views of the Irvine office buildings. Ahh, so beautiful. Also, check the specials beforehand because I ordered a $ 10 rum and coke when kamikazes were only $ 5. The bartender was nice enough to tell me AFTER I ordered. Thanks dude…

I went for their Grand Opening Party in January and got denied at the door. I was on the guest list, put my friends on the guest list, I get all my friends in, then the person in charge of the line says I can’t come in because I’m wearing jeans(and a button down shirt). The invite said«after work or dressy casual attire.» Nowhere on the invite did it say«no jeans.» I told the guy that, because I double checked the invite, if I would’ve known, I wouldn’t have went home after work to change into my lounge gear in the first place. I went home and changed because my friends were already in, good thing I live close. I’m back in 30 minutes and guess what? I get inside and there are some people wearing jeans. Maybe I’m just not«OC» enough to be let in with jeans. I was nice to the line checker when they denied me, so when I came back he let me have an extra two drink tickets(each person got two free drinks, I got four). He was cool about it and remembered me. Management was disorganized to start the night so I think after 30 minutes of letting in people with jeans, they changed it to no jeans. I initially got there at 6:45 p.m., 45 minutes after it started and it was pretty empty. After running home and back, I got in before 7:30 p.m. I can’t rate the food, because the only thing I got to have were the complimentary bbq wings and a small lamb stick. The rooms in lounge/restaurant are pretty nice. There three or four sections of the restaurant and they are all similarly lit, but have slightly different theming. One room has a couch and fireplace. At about 8:30 p.m. people started dancing and the DJ was doing pretty good with the dance songs, playing mostly hip-hop, top 40 dance, and 80s rock. I found out later two of my friends ended up buying a couple drinks. Chivas and Makers Mark… set them back $ 32! Charging above LA prices for an OC crowd… not so hot. I give the décor a 4, the music a 3, the making me go back to change because your-invite-didn’t-specify-clearly-what-you-wanted a negative 10, and drink prices a negative 1. Plus one for the extra drink tickets. It’s an opening party, comp drinks and food and I still enter with a negative taste in my mouth. Most importantly, I’m now COUGARCERTIFIED! The place was crawling with dancing cougars, it was a very Newport/Costa Mesa/OC crowd. When we left, I even ended up taking a picture with one of the two OC Housewives that were in attendance. 100% Cougar Certified, housewife approved. Oh yeah!!!

First off, if you look at the reviews for this place four of the reviews are clearly fake. Five stars, but no other reviews or friends and totally generic statements. So take the high average with a grain of salt. I went to the club, not the restaurant. Pretty standard club, overpriced drinks and an artificial feeling of sophistication. They kept two lines outside going even though it wasn’t crowded inside. The old make them think it is super cool inside by keeping lines big – rookie move Chateaux, rookie move. The staff has mastered a pompous vibe and the security guards are experts at pushing you in the back if you walk to close to a «vip» section. If you want to club, sutra is better. Way better talent at sutra also.
